- Heard this during sound check, was quick to capture this on my phone, the live debut of ESPG song "Statues"
A few flubbed words and chords, I think they literally just worked out this arrangement in the last couple days when they landed on Nov 27.
PS I'm in a Foo Fighters tribute band, check out my channel to see what we're like!
If you're big into Foo Fighters and/or drums, please look through my videos! I play in several tribute bands, one of them being a Foo Fighters one. Check out the other videos in my channel to see those!
I absolutely loved that they played this absolutely underrated song
Yeah me too, can't believe they did it! I love how varied their sets have been lately since recruiting Josh
"Our bones forever in stone, a monument to life. To dust as everything must, will fade away in time" best lines off of the whole album.
One of my favorite foo songs. It’s about time they performed it live
Wow, thanks for sharing! Great stuff. Never hear this played live.
I'm crying. Such a great and underrated song.
Really wish Foo's would do this kinda thing more often.
What about 'But, Honestly' 🥺
What I am always thinking of
The way I would scream those words if that ever happens live. ❤
Who is gonna sing "give Me back my precious time"? 😭
They have played "But, Honestly" before on his "Echos, Silence, Patience & Grace" Era.. but they never have played "Statues" before.. a few weeks ago Dave Grohl have played Statues with Norah Jones.. so.. it will he the 2nd Time that "Dave" plays "STATUES"..
But with his band, it will be the #1st time too c: 💜🥳💜🥳💜🥳💜
Dave needs yo play more Old Live Debuts!!! 😢
They need to complete the "Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace" setlist with the final song called:
"Summer's End" 😭💜
They've played it. I've seen it
Lastima que no lo cantaron entero, es un tema hermoso
I was there! It was so amazing!
I've been listening to the Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace album to and from work lately. I've found truly why I'm an FF fan, their music puts me in a good place, just like Soundgarden. I really appreciate Shifflett's guitar playing in this tune, very mellow, Allman Brothers sounding. Saw the Foos in Dallas recently, a little bummed they didn't play this song, but I can't complain, the setlist was amazing, really nice weather that night as well
I feel like that is the album Shiflett has been able to soar the most. There are so many great leads on that album.
I love Dave laughing at himself forgetting the lyrics 😂
Edit: I hope this means we get more old stuff in the upcoming US tour
Halo, End Over End, The Deepest Blue are Black, DOA, No Way Back, In Your Honor, The One...
Good grief
Watered it Down, Down in the Park, A320, Fuck Around, Soldier, etc.
Overdrive, Tired of You, Come Back
Nope. They stick to the obvious ones. I can write a setlist in my sleep and be 95% spot on. PJ really ruined a lot of live bands for me lol
Beautiful song. Great, job, Shifty!
Shifty! Love the nickname!
Lovely! and shout out to Chris for some great harmonies here
Chris Shiflett extremely underrated team player, along with Nate Mendel, Pat Smear (The Smiley one) and
Rami Jaffee, a "beast" on the keyboards!
I was there in rear standing. Absolute awesome show and this was definitely a highlight getting to hear this live for the first time.
They just keep giving this band, treasure it, because one day Dave is going to say "enough" They make the almost impossible look "easy"...Whiskey Oscar Whiskey
Wow. just wow. This whole album was amazing and to hear this song live is so cool. Totally takes on a whole new life. Hope they play this song more often.
Still the best band I've ever seen live
TY for capturing this. Well done😎
The tone of this song makes me think of The Beatles. What a wonderful debut.
What an awesome night it was. A big tick off my bucket list … A night with Dave and the boys ❤️💯🙏😎🎸🎶
This is one of my favorite songs 🖤
That was awesome!! Love that you guys got such a rare one! What a setlist! Great footage too 🙌🏼🙌🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thanks!
What a beautiful version ❤
We need to give a lot of thanks to Ms. Norah Jones who inspired Dave Grohl to play this song live for the first time 🎉💜😭
💯
@@rloasby In your Honour double album wasn't it? One CD is Hard, the other so mellow and chilled.
@@gregbooth1551 Norah was on the song Razor on the second cd of In Your Honor. Statues was on the next record Echoes Silence Patience and Grace, Norah isn't on that one.
@@rloasby yeah...I "fact checked" by hauling my lazy arse off my chair and grabbing a couple of CD's LoL 🤣
To be fair I have done around 20,000 steps today so, yep "my bad"
Beautiful
The backing vocals are great
This is so beautiful and intimate❤
Beautiful song…for Taylor ❤️
This is just awesome!!!
Got the lyrics on me as a tribute to Taylor 💕 dying to hear this in the UK.
Losing 2 of your best mates, over time, plus your Mother...trust me it sucks. But they do not want us to mourn too much, there comes a day when we all have to move on, I want my kids to continue living life to the full, because they can and they should! Just be kind and respectful with people, no matter what. Just my 2 cents worth.
@@gregbooth1551 appreciate you bro, sorry you've gone through such hardship but you've got a great outlook on life which can only be heavily respected.
It's from Echoes. Glad they are doing something different for once. LOVE the song.
yup! Correct.
ESP&G was such a huge album for me, every track was a killer, and this track is just too beautiful. Dave's lyrics are sublime at times.
Now play "Summer's End" DAVEEEEEE!!!!!! 😭😭😭
Thank you for the GREAT version of this!!
Wow! Amazing 😍
This is awesome, this was the song that we used to accompany my beautiful wife from the church, she died far too young
Awesome 👌
Thanks for catching this sweet song. Touching to see Chris Shiflett clap for Dave Grohl at the conclusion. Thanks for posting. wish I'd been there
You are very welcome, glad I was able to capture it well enough 😊
Shifty did pretty good himself, I think it was more of a “hey, we pulled it off” clap lol
😊
Oh my God, the Foos are my favorite band and this is my favorite song from them! I always thought to myself that if I somehow ever ran to Dave Grohl, my one request would be to ask him to play this live. Wow, I can't believe they've actually played it.
OMFG!!! 2nd time played live!! The first one was a few weeks ago with Norah Jones, sounds so really beautiful this song live, with Norah he had the lyrics on a paper and he cannot get wrong reading it the lyrics jejeje, but to me.. Dave Grohl is going to be one of the best Artist in this world, now he needs to bring us back the old beautiful music that he forgot to play live again like..

Loved this at Perth. feeling a bit emotional.
I'd kill to see this one. I'd be happy never hearing the big 3 Color singles if it meant hearing this and others
If he's going to do any songs on the acoustic guitar again I hope he'll do Cold Day In The Sun as a tribute to Taylor again. Loved his version he did the first few shows of the year!
Probably a bit too heavy for him to keep doing it I'd say. It was nice to see at the first few shows though
I think he stopped because it was too hard
he should do up in arms again 😔
Omgggggggggggggggggggggg
Taylor 😢
Yes, more Echoes songs! One of the few good FF records and barely gets played.
Holy shit something different. Love the Foos and i love DG but the same setlist minus 5 songs for going on 20 years is just awful. Dave take a page from Eddie Veder and Dave Matthews and diversify your setlist for fucks sake. You have 10 records (11 if you include Sound City) and a ton of covers b-sides and side projects your fans want to hear
oh, screaming mid-40ish dumb karen women. How I missed them. Good song btw.
