I’ll say as someone who owns this exact car, make, model, year, etc - I keep my infotainment at Map/Bluetooth and I rarely rarely RARELY if ever use the infotainment. This really is a perfect car
@@dangeles95 Hey Dan, I have just shy of 75k miles on the GS and there hasn't been a single repair I've had to make. I do take it in for the recommended check-ups every 5-10k miles but it's truly amazing how wonderful this car is.
As an owner of a 14 GS, you use the joystick once a month maybe. I keep the dual screen setup with my music and the nav. Honestly it’s the perfect screen setup.
Have had my 2014 GS350 since 2020 - 130k miles and still drives like new. Handles like a charm and has some nice getup. Always thought people who complained about the infotainment were just looking for something to nitpick… 99% of the time you just sit on the audio/bluetooth + nav split screen anyways so the joystick isn’t even used lol. In nearly 4 years of owning have not had a single problem - only expenses have been oil changes + new tires. Couldn’t ask for a better all-around vehicle
These are almost perfect cars IMO. I bought a white on red 2016 GS350 F-Sport RWD about a year ago with 41k miles for $28k (Original MSRP $58k) & its been a really impressive car for the price I paid. Plenty of luxury features, plenty of power from the super smooth & great sounding reliable V6, agile handling with a impressively comfortable ride & so much more. Still can't get enough of this car after almost a year of owning one, it's that good! Plus I see very few of them on the road, usually no more than two per day compared to the IS's & ES's which I see everywhere. These are easily one of the best used cars you can buy right now.
There are two versions of the Toyota 3.5 V6. This one is the 2GR-FSE, made for rear wheel drive cars like the IS. The other one is a front wheel drive 2GR-FE.
I am an original owner the GSF Sport AWD with under 32K miles --love this car! Plus for a car that year to have the blind spot feature is one reason why I keep it and still under warranty.
This car was the best decision I have ever made. Thankfully, I NEVER have to use the infotainment controller unless my phone disconnects (once every couple months or so). I use Bluetooth with phone calls, listen to music all the time, look at the map, etc, but I’ve found that everything I need to do can be done more quickly and efficiently with the provided buttons. You will never have to use the controller for daily driving/infotainment tasks. It’s not a big deal, and it shouldn’t be anywhere near being a deal-breaker for this car. Besides, I’m incredibly used to the controller now and actually don’t mind it at this point. I actually like the PlayStation-style feedback sounds, too. Everything else about the car is just perfect. You can get these cars in excellent condition with 60k miles or so (with a clean title!) for about $20k. Mine was $22k with 49k miles (one-owner, leased, driven 9k miles/year with all maintenance, clean title). Crazy good deal! Cheap maintenance on these things, too. $100 full synthetic oil changes every 5k miles, and that’s it. Brakes aren’t expensive either. Gotta love it! Buy this car, guys. I wash it at least twice a week, condition the leather quite often, and keep it looking great all the time. I never see these on the road, and when I do, the other driver and I always notice each other and make eye contact. They know what’s up, and I know what’s up. Haha. Can’t say the same thing about BMW/Mercedes/Audi! Looking forward to this thing reaching 250k+ miles!-Although I might just decide to upgrade to the GS-F before I reach that point ;)
yo how about the gas? im looking into some reviews and they all say that the gs uses more fuel. almost doubled compared to that of a bmw that does 0-60 similarly
@@DarkDetectiveLight I go about 250 miles on a full tank. Gets about 18-22 mpg I think, more on the lower end. $50 usually for me to fill up in TN. Plus, the BMWs use turbos, and those like to go bad-on top of all the plastic engine components and what not. It’ll last you less than half the time a GS would last you.
No complaints about the car at all. Over 180000 miles. The 2010 is a great car also. I had a 2007 rwd. Sold it at 158000. It was a solid car, more rattles in dash and ML system not as good. 13 has a few more features, but not worth the premium unless you just really like the body style.
This "forgotten" Lexus has a lot going for it. Most buyers don't care about the performance so they get the cheaper ES. I don't buy new cars so I'm looking at picking one of these up because depreciation has hit it harder than most Lexus (Lexi?). I don't use infotainment systems much so I think I can live with the joystick. I used to live in Frankfort, IL so it's fun to see someone from my old area. Thanks for the video!
I have the non F sport model of this car with same features and all except in Grey that I picked up two years ago with 29k on it for 24k in perfect condition. I looked for about 6 months to find one in great shape, not my first pick on color but couldn't turn it down for condition.and mileage. Still love driving it everyday.
I've had the hybrid GS450h for close to 6 years now and it is a really lovely car. The joystick never really gets better: you get used to it but it will always be the same clunky experience. Luckily, like others have pointed out, once you have your bluetooth phone paired to the car, you basically never have to use it because thank god this car actually has physical buttons unlike what we get today. For other owners and interested buyers living in colder climate with road salt, check the rear arches for rust. For some reason the metal in the wheelarches is exposed so the stone chips might turn rusty. I thought I caught this early but got an insane quote from the dealer because they claim they have to cut out and replace both the rear quarters to fix this properly. Regarding the F Sport package, unlike most other Lexus models, the GS actually gets performance parts with that, including the electronically adjustable dampers mentioned in the video but also four wheel steering. This makes the car really quite easy to manouver in tight spots.
I love the joystick in my GS. I find touch pads to be incredibly offensive and makes me feel like I'm sitting down at my laptop to work. I also don't like using them on laptops! I also would NOT want a touchscreen setup in this car. The position of the screen is perfect and would need to be moved too close. The joystick's dynamic stop points based on what is on the screen is absolutely ingenious. The problem people have with overshooting options is solved by increasing the resistance option in the settings. : )
If you can find it, a used GS-F with sub 60,000 miles is everything car enthusiasts would want from a car, and it'll last forever, and it has a naturally aspirated 5L V8 so you don't have to worry about tubro issues
BeatSonic makes a great Apple CarPlay/Android adaptor that populates in the center display without compromising anything. It’s a $1000 upgrade, and it brings this car to today’s tech. Hands down my GS F Sport is the finest car I have owned. It will be hard to find something comparable a few years down the road when I approach 200,000 miles. The joystick - you can turn down or turn off the click volume and you can adjust the sensitivity of the joystick. The many complaints about this feature are understandable but it doesn’t take long to get used to it.
Just bought 2013 base with 69k miles. I’m blown away at how a 11 year old car doesn’t have a single squeak or rattle. I wished it had the upgraded stereo but other than that I prefer the regular suspension since it cost so much to keep up with the air suspension. If you’re considering buying a used one of these… do it!
I know this is an old video but I feel I need to comment. The F Sport trim is more than just a trim package. You also get staggered tires and adaptive dampers which gives you the sport plus mode. Non F Sport models only have Eco, Normal, and Sport modes.
Have a 13' GS350, literally the only time I use the infotainment is to re-connect the Bluetooth to my phone when it disconnects once every couple of months.
I would also like to add that my 2018 has an automatic trunk open and close, updated front bumper and tail lights, wheels, instrument cluster and a whopping 5 extra horse power. 10,500 miles when purchased, now at 16,400 ish - I plan on keeping my mica blue for a very long time. The infotainment system is also updated versus the 2014 - I need Apple CarPlay eventually, but the car is absolutely amazing and I am grateful. Thanks, Lexus. Fix the rattle in the passenger ac seat feature is all that I ask.
The ultra luxury package is way better than the F sport. it has sport + mode. At first glance the joystick is seems more work than a touch screen. But then the touchscreen would get sun on it and get destroyed. Then theres the issue of fingerprints you have to clean off the buttons and screen. Third taking your eyes off the road to look down is not necessary, that what the whole point of using this so that you could actually have maximum focus on the road without moving your hand dramatically further. This system allows your hand to rest and you to keep calm while driving and playing with it. I turned the sounds off, and the flashing lights and sounds when unlocking or locking the car. It draws attention to you, annoys people, and ruins your bulbs faster.
I kinda want this car being that’s it’s comfortable and so reliable so that when I get my own apartment soon and have to commute to work and college I won’t have to worry about being stranded like in my bmw, also it’d probably be great for road trips which I go on quite frequently
that little knob to control the screen is good i dont see any problem, this must be a preference. it is made with the intend to allow you easily control the screen while the car is driving lol

There’s always one person who lies to themselves about the joystick lol. I got used to it but it’s pretty awful. I upgraded this system to apple CarPlay and never looked back lol
The best way to use the paddles is to have the shift light set a bit before redline you compensate for the delay. Also, it would be interesting to see you get your hands on a 2014+ GX in the future!

@Xavier Jared thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
I have the exact same car. Upgraded the infotainment system with a GROM VL2. It now has Google maps, apple car play, play store, netflix, spotify etc... that mouse that i hated, becomes your new best friend.
@@Aaron-fw3yz no, the screen is too far in the dash to use as a touchscreen. TBH, even if it was, I wouldn’t even use the touch function as the mouse does a great job at navigating the screen.
I have a '13 and it's just about perfect. It's a RWD so it handles great and drives so nicely. The joystick thing is kind of annoying but it's definitely not a reason to not buy the car. You can so easily get around using it it becomes a non-factor after a while. Amazing that there is no market for this car and that it was discontinued. No accounting for taste I suppose.
I just picked up a '14 pre-owned, with 70k miles, for $28,000. I love driving it so much... i've already put 4,000 more miles on it. I don't think i'll ever sell it!
Dude we got so lucky with our GS. We have a 2015 f sport and got it for 26k about 66k miles on it. Now they are near 30k. One got listed for 23k with 167000 miles on it. I live in LA area. It’s insane lol
I turned the haptic feedback all the way max and the selector is fine for me. I don't like that weird bong noise it makes when selecting something. All of that stuff is customizable though.
I dream of having a car with a heated steering wheel. That no one sitting in the back seat button also caught my interest. You did not really get much for your money with an f sport badge back in the day but now a days, Lexus gives you some nice competitive options such as wheels and bumpers and faster transmission and stiffer springs. Stuff that the Germans have been offering for decades. I've also never seen one of this generation with the f sport trim and did not know that they existed. I also like the little trunk lid spoiler you get on this trim. It's a suttle little touch that adds a bit of detail to the overall f sport package. Bonus points for the ps2 like sound effects of the infotaiment system. I know Lexus gets a lot of hate for having the worst infotaiment system in a car but I think it's fine. May be it's because I grew up with technology. These are pretty rare in black. I see loads of them in grey.
I was worried about that when I got the car. Must say though that I replaced my rears with Michelin All Season 4's and they drive nice and show basically 0 wear at 9000 miles so far.
I think the F sport also gives you the ability to change suspension settings along with drive modes that affect throttle response. I don’t think that comes with the base model.
@@hamburglerkosh2049 my 1999 lexus gs400 had 400k miles and never left me stranded lol. I feel confident In saying I would drive that thing around the world and not worry ever of it leaving me stranded.
One of my personal complaints is the fact it doesn't have a dedicated A/C button.... You have to use that damned analog stick thing to navigate to the on screen A/C option in "Climate" from the menu....
Manufacturer's defect - sunroof frame screws loose. Ridiculous $ to repair (remove head lining.) Alternative - replace sunroof gasket (~$100 total every 18 months - quiet but not silent.
Good review, except infotainment. Dated but phone/bluetooth/nav work well. Joy stick - once skill is acquired, works better than other remote or touch systems, especially with billet tuning/volume option.
You should have done a quick google search before making this video. The engine used by GS350 or IS350 are 2GR-FSE. Its not the same engine used in lotus evora or sienna. 2GR-FE is the one used is camry, avalon, sienna, Rav4 etc.
What all do you need the joystick for on a regular basis? I'm thinking I could control my music from my phone and then I have all the hard buttons for climate control etc.
I say GS, you cant go wrong, i have the 14 gs 350 awd pearl white, with peanut butter interior, super nice car. 2019 is even better with that big front grill
Same with ES. How did Lexus overlook this? Was actually a deal breaker for me. I ended up buying a limited Avalon. Love having a sunglass holder again :)
The whole time you were talking about the little joystick and not understanding it not being able to control it etc I just laughed my ass off imagining a man who couldn't figure out a woman's... Bean. You know what I'm talking about. Keep practicing, you will master it.

U all got too much privilege true the course of history . At the same time the pickiness makes manufacturers step up their game when the people don't accept any an anything. Good review
Seems this reviewer does not know anything about this car. The GSF is a High Performance, and the GS350 F sport is still considered a performance vehicle. The F sport also comes with the sportier looking bumper and spindle grill, and sport suspension* The more you know. Stick to playing your PlayStation 2
maybe you should do your research... the f sport is indeed not a performance vehicle. having avs (which is not sport suspension btw) and some cosmetic mods doesnt make it a perforamance vehicle. at the end of the day its the same thing as the regular non fsport just with some cosmetic tweaks with the only "semi performance" change being the suspension - (which isnt even that great anyways as it's geared more to comfort).
@@jonny_350f maybe you are right, but sure performs like a performance car and very similarly to a BMW 5 series. As I stated before it’s not a ‘high performance’ car like the GSF. BTW the regular GS350 does not have the option for s+ like the F sport which makes a difference when it’s accelerating at higher RPMs if you’ve done your research. Obviously the cosmetics do not make it a performance car, but the power and F sport suspension make the drive more exhilarating. There have been plenty of reviewers who have said the same thing without casting shadow on this type of vehicle. This reviewer is not giving it credit where it’s due with his dumb remark of the mouse making the whole car seem bad.
@@gswade4368 For me, sport plus literally makes no difference for throttle - I have driven the normal 350 many times and the acceleration feels exactly the same. In fact, I tested it between my 2019 f sport in sport + and my friends 2015 350 non f sport in sport, and we were exactly tied. As for avs - yes there is a difference but it is so minuscule that the normal driver cannot tell. I actually deleted avs in my car and installed tein flex z coilovers and holy crap it completely changed the car. It feels like it is on rails, while still being super comfortable and riding like stock in a straight line. Now theres no body roll and I feel that all the hidden potential in my car is fully unlocked way past my expectations.
@@jonny_350f I’m still baffled why you are driving in a 2019 gs350 f sport over a used GSF which is most likely around the same price range 🤔 Had it been my choice, it would be a GSF no brainer, but I got mine in 2015 before it came out.

The best way to use the paddles is to have the shift light set a bit before redline you compensate for the delay.
Also, it would be interesting to see you get your hands on a 2014+ GX in the future!
you all probably dont care but does any of you know of a tool to log back into an instagram account??
I was dumb forgot the login password. I would love any tricks you can give me.
@Xavier Jared thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now.
Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Xavier Jared it did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thank you so much you really help me out !
@Sterling Ayden Glad I could help =)
I have the exact same car. Upgraded the infotainment system with a GROM VL2. It now has Google maps, apple car play, play store, netflix, spotify etc... that mouse that i hated, becomes your new best friend.
same i got the beatsonic unit apple carplay on that big screen is amazing - better than any other new cars that come with it
Is it touchscreen?
@@Aaron-fw3yz no you still use the mouse but the mouse works great with it
@@Aaron-fw3yz no, the screen is too far in the dash to use as a touchscreen. TBH, even if it was, I wouldn’t even use the touch function as the mouse does a great job at navigating the screen.
Any issues or limitations with the GROM VL2?
Honestly the joystick pad ain’t that bad
The engine is not used in the Toyota Sienna. Not even the Camry or Avalon. Different engine code.
Correct, this engine was only in the IS, GS, and Toyota crown athlete.
@@ndnstyll actually rc and tacoma as well
I'm a car review junkie and I enjoy yours very much. No pretense and you all different types of vehicles.
Have to have the headlights on for the washers to work.
Back seats are cramped.Killed everything
Man these things are pricey now. 23k for one with 96k miles, fully loaded, is the best I could find in my area
I just picked up a '14 pre-owned,
with 70k miles, for $28,000.
I love driving it so much...
i've already put 4,000 more miles on it.
I don't think i'll ever sell it!
@@discipleoftheLordJesusChrist I think you sold me already 😂
@@ravage842 lol
Dude we got so lucky with our GS. We have a 2015 f sport and got it for 26k about 66k miles on it. Now they are near 30k. One got listed for 23k with 167000 miles on it. I live in LA area. It’s insane lol
@@Michael21812 That's so dang crazy. Wtf! Still searching!
S tier review. I wish snow mode had more fanfare too
I turned the haptic feedback all the way max and the selector is fine for me. I don't like that weird bong noise it makes when selecting something. All of that stuff is customizable though.
You just need to get use to the joystick like with many other things you use the first time. I love my GS. Its a perfect car!!
How much annual insurance and how much gas consumption? Am planning to get one :)
A beautiful machine, thanks for this lovely video
Liked before watching! Thank you for this review this or previous gen GS will he my next Lexus! Love your content!
Him at the end of the video had me cracking up.
Awesome! I too love the GS
6:04 I have a 2011 is350 f sport. Headlight washers only work if the headlights are on
Serious F Sport issue - cannot rotate staggered wheels. Michelin Summer Pilots are crazy good but last ~10K miles. Worth it for the performance.
I was worried about that when I got the car. Must say though that I replaced my rears with Michelin All Season 4's and they drive nice and show basically 0 wear at 9000 miles so far.
The refresh after 2014 is subtle yet amazing.
7:05 I can definitely see that 😂💀
I think the F sport also gives you the ability to change suspension settings along with drive modes that affect throttle response. I don’t think that comes with the base model.
This is a great car, but the door lock actuators will burn out and will need to be replaced
Seems like infiniti got a lot of inspiration for the q50 from the gs platinum
I’ve always wondered that, are there any articles out there about the similarities between Lexus and Infiniti models
Only one of these vehicles is reliable tho
@@ahahuehafook4207 na Infiniti is still reliable, just not like Lexus. My sister had an m35 since 2007 and it broke down on her this year
@@hamburglerkosh2049 my 1999 lexus gs400 had 400k miles and never left me stranded lol. I feel confident In saying I would drive that thing around the world and not worry ever of it leaving me stranded.
Is it worth buying in 2022 considering it's been discontinued
Yes
thinking about getting a 2014 Lexus GS 350 with 80,000 miles on it for around $20k.
Did u get it
Update
One of my personal complaints is the fact it doesn't have a dedicated A/C button.... You have to use that damned analog stick thing to navigate to the on screen A/C option in "Climate" from the menu....
I have a not f sport awd with 18s. Got AEM, charcoal deleted, D3 tune, borla exhaust and it’s fun as shit 😂😂😂
I own this model year and the sunroof makes this squeaky sound every time I go over bump 🙁 it’s annoying
Manufacturer's defect - sunroof frame screws loose. Ridiculous $ to repair (remove head lining.) Alternative - replace sunroof gasket (~$100 total every 18 months - quiet but not silent.
Anyone who says anything 2wd is comparable to awd has never driven awd before in the snow. It isn't even close.
Good review, except infotainment. Dated but phone/bluetooth/nav work well. Joy stick - once skill is acquired, works better than other remote or touch systems, especially with billet tuning/volume option.
So how do you really feel about the joystick?
You should have done a quick google search before making this video. The engine used by GS350 or IS350 are 2GR-FSE. Its not the same engine used in lotus evora or sienna. 2GR-FE is the one used is camry, avalon, sienna, Rav4 etc.
FSE is longitudinal mounted for rear RWD, FE is transverse mounted for FWD, same engine nonetheless. But yeah, you're right.
What all do you need the joystick for on a regular basis? I'm thinking I could control my music from my phone and then I have all the hard buttons for climate control etc.
I have that same exact car good to only have that 1 thing the infotainment system either then that a fun car I love it
U should create a car and see how it fair
hows the gas consumption on this
He covered that
Need some advice.I’m in the market for a Lexus and wondering if I should go with a 2019 es350 or a 2019 gs350 or older
I say GS, you cant go wrong, i have the 14 gs 350 awd pearl white, with peanut butter interior, super nice car. 2019 is even better with that big front grill
Does the GS, no matter what generation it is, offer food rear seats? Or does it have the small pass through thing?
no
does anyone know hows the fuel consumption on this gs? it seems that it does consume quite a lot.
I have a GS350 and in town I get around 17 to 19 and on the highway I get from 21 to 28, really depending on the speed you drive
F-Sport is more than just a trim level… what adaptive dampers aka Sports+?
One thing it does not have a glasses case on this car....
Same with ES. How did Lexus overlook this? Was actually a deal breaker for me. I ended up buying a limited Avalon. Love having a sunglass holder again :)
Boo hoo
Bring your own case, put it on the recessed info screen's shelf.
Definitely not a deal breaker but kind of annoying lol
The whole time you were talking about the little joystick and not understanding it not being able to control it etc I just laughed my ass off imagining a man who couldn't figure out a woman's... Bean. You know what I'm talking about. Keep practicing, you will master it.
The trauma is real.
I have a 2015, and they improved the joystick.... Somewhat.
Does anyone know the exact color of the diffuser on this black gs 350? It’s like a grey/silver color? idk please helppp!
Great video, sadly the 350 hit uk shores
These gen Lexus are impeccable minus the stupid infotainment joystick that stupid mouse was a bad idea but other then that I’m Lexus gang all day as I own a 14 is250 awd and a mint 04 es330 as a daily with the mark levi n nav .
I have Lexus GS 350 AWD 2014 and I do not see the heated seats buttons below. Any reason why ?
Under the radio in the middle dash tucked back behind the cup holders
U all got too much privilege true the course of history . At the same time the pickiness makes manufacturers step up their game when the people don't accept any an anything. Good review
nice car
Not all F-sports are created equal... you shouldn't review a car you know nothing about. These cars deserve more than this lame review 👎
7:17 😂
Great used option #GS350
The setting let you choose how strong the feedback is..... learn more about the car before talking down on a adjustable feature lmfaooo
The audio hurts my ears
lol ps2 sounds
Seems this reviewer does not know anything about this car. The GSF is a High Performance, and the GS350 F sport is still considered a performance vehicle.
The F sport also comes with the sportier looking bumper and spindle grill, and sport suspension*
The more you know.
@@jonny_350f I’m still baffled why you are driving in a 2019 gs350 f sport over a used GSF which is most likely around the same price range 🤔
Had it been my choice, it would be a GSF no brainer, but I got mine in 2015 before it came out.
@@gswade4368 same if it was my choice i would have gotten a used gsf
This guy is good how are going to compare a freaking Nissan Rouge to a 60 thousand dollar car? I own a GS 350 F Sport and I love it as far as the mouse you can sit the sensitivity. They will let anyone give reviews.Looks like he's had a couple of cheeseburgers go rate those..
No need for the hate. If you have a different opinion that's cool. I appreciate anyone who takes the time to inform.
