  • Well time has come to start the Hay operation. First thing get cutter prepped. This Kuhn GMD 700 Hay Cutter / Disc Mower is a good machine for a old machine. If not abused and some care they will last. It's time I prep this cutter for the new hay season. Next I will service the Baler and the rake. I show A little about this cutter and get a surprise visit from my wife Melinda with a bowl full of beautiful dew berries!

Malinda, There was a huge blackberry patch up by our town watertank . The Preston
boys and I used to get buckets of berries there. One day I was calling Roy to remind
him some of the berries had to go into the bucket but he wouldn't answer back. I
went around to the other side of the patch and found his bucket,.....and a large bear.
I donated her my bucket of berries as well.
george and aurora, still in enhanced level4 quarentine since march 17

I'm a filipino and i like to watch your vids and cattle farming, but most of all cowboy life in general and of the old west. And i love Texas! (Note: when people say texas I instantly think of Country music, cowboys, cattle farms, big hay bales, big vegi farms and of course TF (Texas Filipino). I love you guys!

Man you bringing back memories. I remember every summer all us kids would end up going down to the country East Texas little town called Antioch. It was normal back then to send your kids to the country for the summer( free child labor )we picked peas, watermelons anything that was in season we`d pick. But the dewberries grew in the ditches along the fence line and there was this one old lady my friend's auntie that would take all us kids down the road to pick dewberries and we'd be picking and eating and dodging snakes 🐍. She always carried this long stick with a V at the bottom and she take that and trap a snake's head in that V kill it and then throw them across the fence to warn the other snakes she said..I don't know.. but it was a memory I'll never forget. That old lady was fierce 🔥

Good tips with the cutter. I haven't had Dew berries since I left Texas. Mom would make jam and my friends and I would smash them on each other.😊

You should have Mel bake a pie with those berries. The hay making i don't miss any of that even though it,s been 40 plus years lol.
