this show had the potential! cause i've worked in a restaurant and there's lots of things that i've been trough and feel familiarized but feel like they did't took advantage of the story, they could have had a great series

I loved every sec of this show
Wow sounds like my life wen I was younger. I went to NYC and experienced the same shit. Had a lot of friends, romances, flings, jobs, partying and never staying home. Was rooming in the upper east side because I could never afford an apartment. But was never home because I had to work multiple jobs just to keep up with expenses. Had a drinking problem and heartbreak from a well off guy who just used me. I was naive and thought romance was real.
Catzana sounds like so many other girls experiences, fun but ultimately overrated. Give me a down to earth small town life with a humble man over that chaos any day.

I just finished the book and thought the same thing!!! Her character was built purely on who she was to other people. I get that she was young and didn't know who she was or what she wanted, but they never gave her any backstory or any meaningful character development
That's literally so many young female characters: Tvd Elena, Gilmore Girls Rory, Twilight Bella, 50 Shades of Grey Ana, After Tessa
They're always these blandly innocent, shy, thin, white girls who like to read and are drawn to bad boys and are lacking in a personality and are total damsels in distress how unoriginal

I still feel as if season 1 is a great complete story (to those who got the show. It’s a perfect ending where she is back to where she started; unsure of what she has wanted after all the mistakes and accomplishment.

I'm sorry, but first of all it was on Starz which is a channel most people don't get. The ONLY reason I knew the show existed was because I had reviewed the book on Goodreads and then one day Goodreads sent me an email that basically said "Hey the book you read is being made into a TV show."
Secondly, This is a drama not a sitcom. So why the hell were the episodes thirty minutes?
Thirdly, six episodes is NOT a season and it' REALLY not a season when the episodes are thirty minutes long. That's less than three hours. That's not a season of the TV show: that's a long movie.
Lastly, I HATE HATE HATE appointment TV. Give me all the episodes of a season at ONCE so I can watch it all at once if I want. Having to wait a week for another episode is SO 1990's.

Why does it have to be about race? This show takes place in 2006 and a lot of people who work in the restaurant she ends up at are different race. She literally got nothing when the show began and had to sell her car to pay rent.

I wouldn't recommend this show. It's amazingly boring. Mediocre writing. And I don't find the characters compelling. This show is just tedious and dull. Party Down from Starz was so much more entertaining.
