What is the deal with Canon saying it will be out mid October but there still isn’t a store that has it in stock. -I know supply issues from Rona but Canon still has the ability to set their own date on these releases.
@@videomaker I was just at the Sundance Film Festival and visited the Canon exhibit and asked about a possible update to the 605. The rep said he doesn’t know for sure but said look to NAB. Also asked what feature updates I’d like to see. Smiled and said all my suggestions except micro four thirds were possibilities. Interestingly my local Canon dealer said the same about NAB. Fingers crossed.
Can one remote control multiple cameras at the same time jam syncing all camera together? Something like what a GoPro will do. Thinking about buying a Three Camera setup.
I have mine and am currently trying it under low light and slow mo of guns firing. The codecs are great, and I am shooting straight REC 709 most of the time. The lens is basically par focal and very sharp. I tried this for the first couple of weeks in all auto as far as ISO,Iris and White Balance. I wouldnt recommend that, dial the image in and the results are beautiful. I basically switched from a Sony A7Siii to this. No more carrying a bound and gagged of lenses, batteries, and a gimbal.........leave the Atomos at home. Pull it it out, switch it on, and you are ready to dial it up in 5 seconds. It is worth it to me.
@@BillFrady have you tried putting it on a crane gimbal? And do thing this camera would be great for Movie Film Making or Music videos? I m a Sony a7R3 User.
@@gatlinproduction Not a crane, but a shoulder rig. It does have C Log so I think it could be used for both, but I sort of view this as leaning more towards documentary film making.
You have to set the second card recording function to relay recording. By default it is set to disabled. Look through the menu and you can find it or google "second slot recording function" for the XF605
Why doesn’t anyone mention is a great for filmmaking or is a great for music video’s. Does camcorder has a certain kinda look and feel that can’t come across when it comes to filmmaking or music videos? Please anyone share some insight on this.
It can it just depends what you’re going for. It’s harder to get shallow depth of field on some of these camcorders. Also a lot of cinematographers like to choose their lenses but wouldn’t be able to since it’s a fixed lens camcorder. But obviously it’s a professional camera and could be used for a film/music video
it could be used for that, but other cameras would be better. I would say the main areas of focus for this camera is situations where you need to record audio and video together and you need the camera to be small and quick to use. Documentaries, interviews, some events, maybe vlogging etc.
Need to see some footage .

Any information on a Mark II version of the 605?

Yet another promo video. Enough already. Show us 4k footage under a variety of conditions so we can see if its worth $4500.
there are very weak marketers in canon
