I like how he keeps it real in this one, he tells you that it is a bad thing the spike doesnt have a guard... but then he shows you how effective it is, good job
I have the Tokyo spike, and I sharpened the upper portion of the blade. i keep it in my car as a self defense knife. It is small enough and light enough for me to keep it in my sun visor. I used to not like cold steel products, but this knife has held up very well for its price.
@shadowwolf41 I have the scimitar! :-D Love the design and it's one of only 2 or 3 "usable" knifes in the series.... I mainly use it when going out to eat, because they never have decent knives...
@mrCrispy725 My point is that it has a fine edge and can be used as a real knife. When i'm outdoors i'd like to have a good knife, but also to practise knife throwing. When i'm in the city of course i don't need it because can use a folding one. Hope now i'm clear. :)
@kaziklu79 yea they are pretty good as throwing knives, primarily the bowie point. they're a bit handle heavy, but if you can figure it out, when it hits the target it sinks in deep
@zippo57jc It's an awesome series of knives. I have the Scimitar and the Tokyo now.. I like the Scimitar better. I'll order the Scottish Spike eventually.
I've owned the clip point since 2006. It's been to Iraq and back twice and on many stateside adventures. Finally getting dull and has some edge damage, how do you resharpen these?
Do you think it would be possible to perform delicate surgical "procedures" with this knife? I was curious after seeing the large deep cut on that piece of meat. I have lots of "work" to do.
hope you keep making this old version too coldsteel... the new one is maybe better in functionality... but the old one has so much more style!! which made it "the spike" now it's just another knive ;)
i never wear one on the neck, i had a crkt obake and it gave me the best idea ever, when i tied it to a belt loot or my belt i stuck it in the top of my pants or behind my belt so i took the lanyard off my camera that i never use anymore and stuck it through the hole in the bottom of the scabbard and now its hidden nicely in my belt
"demented at you" or "as you"? I can't see your point exactly, but from the thumbs down i see most of the TH-cam users don't like knife throwing.Nevermind. Don't worry i'm not among, between, near or inside you and don't want to be ;)
These cutting demos are useless! Every shitty metal can be sharp for a day! I want cutting ratings. I want to see this knife unsharpened for a year and then tested. Not by you of course.
Got the Scimitar Spike, by far my favorite of all the designs. Planning on getting a Scottish one soon as possible.

@EliasCrowe cold steel wants to be proud that they made such a f***ing awesome knife
@mrCrispy725 Thanks for the free lesson, if it wasn't you i'd never now this... By the way, have you seen the CS Sure Flight?
Did you stop making these? They are great!

Something Dreadful m
would you recommend the spike hawk for a 72 hour bag? i'm on a budget and looking for a tomahawk.thanks!
do they only have a single grind with a flat grind or they have a double grind ?
I still carry my Tanto Spike every day.
But I bought it about the mid of the 1990's.
Are these knives good as a throwing knife?
If Lynn Thompson liked the Talon so much why did you guys discontinued it??

@dat1localguy Thanks for the info!
why is the volume so low ?

These guys must have way huge containers to dispose all the stuff they shred :D
One grind per side, might be slightly convex
It's a pity ;) I look for a light knife that can be used both as a throwing and EDC.
a cool design would be a double edged spear point spike
@NerfPenguin makes no differance, i like the talon
I just got one and I like it... but I really hate the way knife companies have their name and stuff etched into the blade.
Crazy how one swipe of something so small can kill someone 😬
Watch him go to town on that cardboard cut out at 1.17
I hope they had a good BBQ with that meat afterwards
3:43 ...THATS WHAT SHE SAID
@kaziklu79 it's a pity knife owners as demented at you are among the rest of us. oh yeah.... ;)
that'll fuck sombody up
