    I can proudly announce that I have a Cold Steel Kobun 17T (AUS8 A) in my possession. In my country India, possessing a blade longer than 5 inches is illegal, except I can collect a blade for decoration purposes only. That's why I went for the Kobun. But I am more than happy and satisfied with my Kobun. Though it has a sleek and fairly thin blade, it can easily outsmart any other more agile knives out there. Thank you the legendary Lynn Thompson. God bless you sir.

    I would say "unbelievable" but I just can't.
    I have over 40 Cold Steel blades. It is believable. And 25 years later, I'm still 100% convinced!

    I love the magnum and taipain knives. I was wondering if cold steel would ever make the step to make them into short sword or reguler swords. i would love to see somthing like that.

    K this is an honest question I've been looking at fallkniven RAT knives and spiderco knives but I seen this flex test on these blades I've always had a knife ever since I was just a kid in British Columbia so I think I know what a quality blad is sorry bla bla bla anyhow do these cold steel tanto's bend right back to the original shap or are they completly screwed after that test anyone that could answer this it would be great thanx

    I bought a Cold Steel tanto a couple of years ago that was flat ground with a double bevel edge. I have so much to say about it. The handle feels like 40g sandpaper that bites into my hand when I cut up wood. The edge angle is so wide it barely cuts. That makes the car door thing very little impressive. I was not happy with it. That is my opinion.

    Personally, I wouldnt use it for utility (I have a Ka-bar for that), but the tanto concept is often used in tactical knives. Its just handy.

    Literally just looking for knife for my war belt set up don’t think I need a 12 inch knife for that

  • @ChickenPika
    @ChickenPika 16 ปีที่แล้ว

    -_- ...2:50... I sense a problem. First of all, that knife is tempered with layers of folded steel. If it is anything like a Nihonto (and I assume similarities were intended in the tanto's design), The knife would take a permanent set. There's no shame in that. Laminated steel isn't supposed to be like spring steel. If I'm wrong, forgive me, but I figure there's no way in hell that knife would've returned to true. But if it did, I see no harm in including that in the video...

  • @attackoftherandom
    @attackoftherandom 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @switchl12 they had to be bad. they were just showing that it didnt break. i dont think any knife could withstand that much bending without it holding a bent shape.

    Well, they changed it recently, i recommend getting your hands on one of the ''old'' ones.
    I don't like the look of the new ones.
    It's probably just me being immature and paranoid, but i suspect the knife i got is cursed.

    I bought 4 G.I. Tantos and the were balance really well so i decided to test it and i threw it into a piece of wood and i pulled it out and the blade tip bent. I was not impressed. It was a waste of money and i have not used it since. I put it up and bought a Ka-Bar

  • @exzaver1234
    @exzaver1234 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    the tanto is fucking for stealth now who would want a giant thing on their back wanting to get noticed?!?!?!?!?
    and if u use two hands of course it is going to be stronger then anything katanas are for the ones who cant reach far and the tanto is able to be used in a fight with out notice and ur going to see a giant sword....... stop going around with katana shit of course it is better then tanto but the tanto is faster katana u have two hands blocking the way

    I think they try WAY to hard in these demonstrations, Also tatami mats? Milani ropes? Cut something worth while, Something hard so you can REALLY show how sharp and durable the knives are, Im definetly thinking about ordering one, But given the VERy high prices of the knives(Im looking at the O Katana $450) Im not quite convinced yet.
