I can proudly announce that I have a Cold Steel Kobun 17T (AUS8 A) in my possession. In my country India, possessing a blade longer than 5 inches is illegal, except I can collect a blade for decoration purposes only. That's why I went for the Kobun. But I am more than happy and satisfied with my Kobun. Though it has a sleek and fairly thin blade, it can easily outsmart any other more agile knives out there. Thank you the legendary Lynn Thompson. God bless you sir.
i just bought a CS tanto lite yesterday from a military surplus store. this is my first cold steel product and i have to say i am very pleased with it. now im even more excited about buying some more products.
I love the magnum and taipain knives. I was wondering if cold steel would ever make the step to make them into short sword or reguler swords. i would love to see somthing like that.
i love cold steel. just got my first, its a recon 1, now im buying a ti lite when i get the money. You guys should make a folding karambit, i would buy that on the spot. lol
K this is an honest question I've been looking at fallkniven RAT knives and spiderco knives but I seen this flex test on these blades I've always had a knife ever since I was just a kid in British Columbia so I think I know what a quality blad is sorry bla bla bla anyhow do these cold steel tanto's bend right back to the original shap or are they completly screwed after that test anyone that could answer this it would be great thanx
I bought a Cold Steel tanto a couple of years ago that was flat ground with a double bevel edge. I have so much to say about it. The handle feels like 40g sandpaper that bites into my hand when I cut up wood. The edge angle is so wide it barely cuts. That makes the car door thing very little impressive. I was not happy with it. That is my opinion.
im getting that 12 in!!!!! its awesome!!!!!!!!!!! love tantos more then swords!!! tantos are more durable then swords but swords u can reach longer but can't do as much damage
-_- ...2:50... I sense a problem. First of all, that knife is tempered with layers of folded steel. If it is anything like a Nihonto (and I assume similarities were intended in the tanto's design), The knife would take a permanent set. There's no shame in that. Laminated steel isn't supposed to be like spring steel. If I'm wrong, forgive me, but I figure there's no way in hell that knife would've returned to true. But if it did, I see no harm in including that in the video...
@switchl12 they had to be bad. they were just showing that it didnt break. i dont think any knife could withstand that much bending without it holding a bent shape.
Well, they changed it recently, i recommend getting your hands on one of the ''old'' ones. I don't like the look of the new ones. It's probably just me being immature and paranoid, but i suspect the knife i got is cursed.
tantos and katanas are both good but katana for like idk but tanto for stealth and fighting mostly katanas favorite have fast speed with it but got faster speed with tantos
LOL i love how they advertised it can stab through 10 layers of leather for biking jackets, its like they just advertised if you have a biking gang problem this knife will protect you.
i would love to get the 12 tanto and the recon tanto the 18 latin machete and the warrior katana or the O katana , SOG tech bowie BLACK, SOG AGENGY (REG),seal pup black tini either a sraith edge or half serrated / straightAND ABOUT A 100 THROWING KNIFES MAKE FOR GOOD ZOMBIE KILLIN lOL i sound crazy but i like a good knife when a see one these are what i hope to get throughout my life im 18 ohh and a COLD STEEL BASEBALL BAT
I bought 4 G.I. Tantos and the were balance really well so i decided to test it and i threw it into a piece of wood and i pulled it out and the blade tip bent. I was not impressed. It was a waste of money and i have not used it since. I put it up and bought a Ka-Bar
the tanto is fucking for stealth now who would want a giant thing on their back wanting to get noticed?!?!?!?!? and if u use two hands of course it is going to be stronger then anything katanas are for the ones who cant reach far and the tanto is able to be used in a fight with out notice and ur going to see a giant sword....... stop going around with katana shit of course it is better then tanto but the tanto is faster katana u have two hands blocking the way
I think they try WAY to hard in these demonstrations, Also tatami mats? Milani ropes? Cut something worth while, Something hard so you can REALLY show how sharp and durable the knives are, Im definetly thinking about ordering one, But given the VERy high prices of the knives(Im looking at the O Katana $450) Im not quite convinced yet.

I would say "unbelievable" but I just can't.
I have over 40 Cold Steel blades. It is believable. And 25 years later, I'm still 100% convinced!
I love the magnum and taipain knives. I was wondering if cold steel would ever make the step to make them into short sword or reguler swords. i would love to see somthing like that.
This is absolutely perfect I must get one
I have one these. What a deadly cutter.
wow! i would like to call it the tanto knife-sword series. thanks for uploading =)

Was that knife salvagable after that?

its awesome!!!!!!!!!!!
love tantos more then swords!!!
tantos are more durable then swords but swords u can reach longer but can't do as much damage
I would like to see your kobun get tested seeing as I just bought one. Its an aus8 model not the carbon v just to clarify.
Im buying this baby. Its too good not to be had!
I got one they're very good knives.
I would not like to have my arm in that jacket.
how much for the whole set of all the tanto blades in this set
Personally, I wouldnt use it for utility (I have a Ka-bar for that), but the tanto concept is often used in tactical knives. Its just handy.
Sometimes, when I get real mad....
I turn into an overweight middle-aged guy, and I fuck shit up with exotic blades.
I saw when the master tanto stabbed through the coin, can i do this with a gi tanto or shanghai shawdow with minimal damage?
sometimes when im bored i like to watch overweight middle aged guys fuck shit up with knives.
how much would a fully sharpened black bladed master tanto go for in CAD?
Literally just looking for knife for my war belt set up don’t think I need a 12 inch knife for that

nice!
@ref498 lol you spelled mat wrong tho
I am working on owning evry tanto fixed blade u guys make getting there finally until u come out with a new product. lol
Oh cool
Well, they changed it recently, i recommend getting your hands on one of the ''old'' ones.
I don't like the look of the new ones.
It's probably just me being immature and paranoid, but i suspect the knife i got is cursed.
@csknives so basically ur saying knife crime is ok?
@gaBehcuoDsuoitneterP The point is that it did not shatter into pieces, like lesser knives would.
@Pinzgauamascht well theres some situations in were a gun wouldnt realy work it would be better to have a knife
funny always see you guys using a forehand slash, never a back hand slash or the inverted grip slash
tantos and katanas are both good but katana for like idk but tanto for stealth and fighting mostly
katanas favorite have fast speed with it but got faster speed with tantos

Yeah, i'd buy an even longer tanto, but san mai might not be right for something like that
We need to do something about all the "fake" cold steel knifes selling as originals on ebay.
An minimalist tantō.
i love how after they bend it they dont show u the results why were they bad?
At 1:01 the guy sounded like a machine!
@Pinzgauamascht That's actually not even close to correct.
i would love to get the 12 tanto and the recon tanto the 18 latin machete and the warrior katana or the O katana , SOG tech bowie BLACK, SOG AGENGY (REG),seal pup black tini either a sraith edge or half serrated / straightAND ABOUT A 100 THROWING KNIFES MAKE FOR GOOD ZOMBIE KILLIN lOL i sound crazy but i like a good knife when a see one these are what i hope to get throughout my life im 18 ohh and a COLD STEEL BASEBALL BAT
Cant you put pig bones or someting in the "Arm in the jacket" test? (:
true it is my opinon but u dont agree i understand cause u like katanas better then tantos
I bought 4 G.I. Tantos and the were balance really well so i decided to test it and i threw it into a piece of wood and i pulled it out and the blade tip bent. I was not impressed. It was a waste of money and i have not used it since. I put it up and bought a Ka-Bar
no animals were harmed during this filming.
What do you do with all that meat when you're done those tests? lol
does anyone else feel hungry?
That dude looks pissed at 1:05
..... wat?
I thought agent 47 used a SOG Pentagon
I have one of those, scary thing
Your badass lai jutsi doesn't work against my AK.
Maybe let it resharpen by Cold Steel? Anyway, sucks to hear man. I love my Magnum XII
do they draw straws to see who has to do the bending tests? lol
a slab of meat with a hole in it... what to do... what to do...
Sushi knife ?
why do we need 6 minutes of tanto!!!!
Cause we can
the tanto is fucking for stealth now who would want a giant thing on their back wanting to get noticed?!?!?!?!?
and if u use two hands of course it is going to be stronger then anything katanas are for the ones who cant reach far and the tanto is able to be used in a fight with out notice and ur going to see a giant sword....... stop going around with katana shit of course it is better then tanto but the tanto is faster katana u have two hands blocking the way
tanto's are ancient japanese and didnt look like that....
ha ha ha! great opservation!
They wear face-masks for a reason, though I'd prefer body-armor.
Yummy...
good to know if i can open my car door
It's pronounced (TAHN-toe)...

Any knife can cut like that with a proper sharpening
Poor Lynne used to be a lot thinner
This video is so corny
