It’s a very good technique. Lots of guide in the past used this technique, you can roll shad and anchovies. Thank you for the video and sharing your tips.
@@nfgassmann8518 thanks for watching and asking. I do not know where you fish but if you live in sacramento, you can get it at any bait and tackle store on Freeport or at Sportsman’s Warehouse. Try it, very effective. I will make another video on how to cure the frozen shad or any frozen bait. Subscribe so you dont miss it!
@@nfgassmann8518 back to your question on hook size. I use either size 2/0 or 4/0 gamakatsu depends on the fish sizes that I targetting. Mostly, size 4
Hahaha I'm getting too lazy to count out the line foot by foot. Which line counter reel would you recommend? I looked at several small ones on Amazon. Some reviews for various reels were 5 stars and some were 1 star. I'm anxious to try your method. It seems somewhat similar to the anchovy trolling that some Hogan fishermen do.
No boiling at all. The fish were in 20 to 30 feet deep. I caught fish every time using this technique. I put 9 big ones in the kayak last month. Suscribe my channel, I will provide more details as how exactly I do. Regular casting method won’t work.

How are you getting the line down? Do you use a Banana weight?
Thank you for asking. You can use banana weight. I use clips like people use for kokanee trolling. Just similar to kokanee trolling
