FRIDAY NIGHT FUNKIN' is a game that brought rhythm gaming back to the forefront for the first time in YEARS. But even more importantly, and why I specifically felt compared to dig deeper into this game, is the way this game single handedly proved the viability of free online games! Even though Flash is dead, a small group of dedicated kids can still make something that rocks the party, and becomes a viral sensation. You gotta love to see it!!

Actually lore for week 2 was provided by Phantom Arcade in the same stream. The short of it is that it takes places after week 4 chronologically, bf is accepted into the gf family and the level is in Gf's house. Skid and Pump come trick and treating and want to take the girlfriend away as their treat (That's because Lemon tricked them into thinking she is candy). That explains why Monster was intended as the third song for Week 2.
I wonder if they'll rearrange the songs/Weeks for the final version of the game?
@@2leftthumbs Possible since Skid & Pump used to be much harder before being nerfed but on the other hand Pico would technically be week 2 and he's a bit more difficult and then Mom would be on Week 3 and she's even more difficult
so they may rename it or make a chronological order mode but truth is if you want that you can just do it yourself from the menu since they don't block you from doing week 4 if you haven't done week 3

I think it has something to do with how that wiki has vandalism problems

Everyone probably already knows this but I just wanted to say that in the files the moms background dancers are called "dumb"
That's actually design art, the real files are called something along the lines of limo_dancer.

17:19 There actually is a story with week 2, similarly revealed through ninja_muffin’s stream. Apparently, the kids were tricked by the monster to get them to bring Girlfriend to him, hence, why he was supposed to appear at the end of week 2.

Sadly it isn't official, it was confirmed by one of the people who worked on this game in one of his streams.
I saw in a wiki that the lemon demon an unused song was originally for the skid and pump and it had a story that the lemon demon told skid and pump to lure the girlfriend so that he could eat her skid and pump will try to rap battle them but when they got defeated the boyfriend will have to face the lemon demon

Fun Fact: There was going to be dialog in week 1. There also was a cutscene. The Cutscene was BF and GF bout to get down and the dad grabbed her by the collar and put her on the speaker. He was going to say something along the lines of "You'll have to go through me first.".

some things that i saw in week 1-4 that was not mentiond
week 1: daddy dearest has no beaten animation when bf is winning hinting that he is playing it cool
week 2: the last arrows from skid and pump in spookeez before the song ends don't have voices
week 3: this may sound confussing but pico (the song) is the first song to have bf play a part that the other one never plays
week 4: in debug mode the models for mom and bf are not the same as the normal ones the reason is beacuse of thier hair flowing in the wind
the demons (aka dumb.png) change how they dance (swaying then break) in satin panties and high to milf (swaying side to side)
i love how when he talks about the beginning of the game GF is just sitting on three uncolored boxes

Skid and Pump found themselves in a haunted house and were convinced by Monster to capture the girlfriend and boyfriend for candy in order to have Monster eat all 4 of them.

I so did not know that Vaggie's VA did the vocals for the mother! That's super cool. Awesome video! It was really interesting to see all these references and little tidbits.
week 6 story: The dating sim video game belonged to Girlfriend and she used to play it a lot. While hanging out with boyfriend , she finds it and decides to play it with him. However, they both ended up being pushed into the game by Daddy Dearest, likely as another attempt on Boyfriend's life. Soon, they meet Senpai and he chivalrously challenges Boyfriend for Girlfriend's heart and affection. After being bested he suddenly breaks character, quickly becoming angry and vulgar.Having lost twice, Senpai is seen writhing before something violently bursts out of his face and destroys his human appearance. The Spirit of the trapped person finally emerges in Senpai's place, causing the once bright location of the school grounds to become desolate, deserted and dark. He reveals that he has been trapped in the game without contact from other humans for so long. Despite this, he reveals that he recognizes Girlfriend and remembers how her father was the one responsible for his imprisonment. He also states that he is not the only person who has met this cruel fate by her father's hands. With the last song, he plans to win against Boyfriend in rap battle so he can take over both his and Girlfriend's bodies (and leaving them to take his place inside the game in return) to finally escape and enact revenge against Daddy Dearest for his and everyone else's suffering. Despite his hostility, he may not be entirely ill-willed at either Boyfriend and Girlfriend, but simply wants out by any means possible, even if his freedom would result in others suffering the same way he did.

I'm a few days late, but for week 2, I always portrayed Skidd and Pump as little siblings trying to protect their big sister (Girlfriend ofc), like how the cliché little siblings would embarrass their siblings in front of their date or whatever. Not sure why I do, but it's somewhat easier for me to think of it like that.
Granted, my idea might seem a bit wacky, but it's 2:54 a.m. right about now.

In regards to the Pico vocals being a reference to Endless Handbag, the vocals in that song (the ones that you said sound the closest to Pico's voice) definitely use very similar audio filters and changes. There's a video on YT called "How to PICO VOICE in FL STUDIO" that showcases it pretty well, and it's a lot clearer when you hear him speaking with the filters in that video.

Yooo thanks so much for making this! I really didn’t understand the appeal of this game as I thought it was a fairly simple concept but I think I can see why it’s inspired such intrigue as this video seems to show and explain its history / mysteries. I look forward to seeing where it goes and to see you cover it!
