    Great filming (as usual) of the female GOAT! Such an inspiration for everybone to continue towards technical perfection, however : this was (obviously) done BEFORE the comp and what do YOU guys know of her knee injury ? (i.e. happened ON the platform or in training, how serious, etc...) I assume you guys all know she HAD knee issues over a decade ago and went to the USA a few weeks before Worlds (Anaheim) to have a specialist look at her, etc...I assume this is the SAME knee but what (if any) specific info does ATG have on this? As she's pushing 30 now, those injuries may not heal as well as before etc...?

    I have long femurs, long arms and a short torso. The ease of her wl form with her proportions is so interesting to me, because I cannot do this. Weightlifting movement is so much more efficient when your anatomy is built for it.

    Sots press!

    • @allthingsgym
      @allthingsgym  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sots Press (named after Viktor Sots) is originally done from the front rack. Although people nowadays refer to the BTN version as Sots as well.

  • @shekinahjosh
    @shekinahjosh ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I've never seen a BTN jerk-grip sots press. I wonder why she does it with a jerk-grip, since she doesn't squat jerk.

    • @seanlan3260
      @seanlan3260 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Narrower grip is more challenging mobility-wise (thoracic mobility) overhead so maybe she's using it to strengthen this area overall?

    • @shekinahjosh
      @shekinahjosh ปีที่แล้ว

      @@seanlan3260 I thought about that but the specificity of this exercise is still quite far from her main lifts. If the singular goal is flexibility, there are other exercises that will develop that better. And if the goal is rather strength in that ROM, then I don't see where she would need that in her lifts as she doesn't squat jerk.

    • @seanlan3260
      @seanlan3260 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@shekinahjosh Increased strength/mobility from BTN jerk grip Sots would definitely carry over to both jerk and snatch position. Maybe we're both overthinking and its as simple as a variation she chose in the training block lmao. Love this variation personally and I use it frequently as a technique primer for where I am at!
