I bought my wildpeak at3's Over two years ago at $178 per tire. Put over 40000 miles on them. I went through snow and mud in Oklahoma and Wyoming during deer season. I have no complaints whatsoever. They are great in wet conditions. Now the tires have increased over a $100 since the time I bought him.. $283 a tire. And I'm still gonna buy 4 of them.
Prices on all tires have gone way up. Pretty sure I paid 135 a tire for 265/70 -r17 wildpeak AT when they first came out. Now each at3w in that size is 273 each from tire rack
Purchased the Wildpeak HT02 265/70/17 LT. went from K02's. Everyone should know and ask why are we running A/T tires for highway use. The HT02 is a highway terrain with a aggressive sidewall. So happy Falken makes this tire because there is nothing else like it. Have had my wildpeak at3w for over 5 years and done over 60 thousand miles on harsh australian terrain and still got lots of life left in them have had 0 issues and friends and family have them with same feedback. Will buy again!!! Best 4x4 tyre iv ever owned
@208Tyler have read many mixed reviews online but personally and others I know have had a great run out of them and 100% will be buying again. They last for bloody ages
Falken has been killing it. In 2015 I was much more into track performance than offloading and I went with Azenis rt615k on my miata. Loved the tire - insane grip at such a low price point. I just got a set of AT trails for my Nissan frontier that will see primarily road use, dirt roads, and northern winters. I love the process of researching tires and have crossed my fingers on this latest purchase.
I've had a set of the AT3Ws on my Tacoma for a little over 15,000 miles now and they perform great. They were new last winter when we got a decent snow around Christmas. My neighbor got stuck in the road in front of our house and we spent about an hour digging him out when it was zero degrees. There wasn't anything to hook onto on his car, but we alternated driving up to it in front and behind, to wear a path. I was driving up some pretty steep grades in the ditches and the tires just dug and dug. My neighbor and I were both extremely impressed. They are great on the road with very little road noise, they are great in the rain and they are fantastic in the snow. I haven't tried them in the mud, and won't unless I don't have choice. Mud is just too hard on stuff and I love my Tacoma! I talked my son into putting a set on his JL Rubicon and he loves them as well. If they wear well, I'll buy them again!
Bought my first two sets of Rubi's in 2016. 275 70 17 load E's for $550 a set. After getting 70k in a commercial, hot desert, offroad and fast hauling on the interstate in 120 degree heat, without any chunking or flats, I was hooked. Switched our fleet completely over, and all our employees run them too.
They handled great going across country during winter storm Edna. It rained solid all the way across Arkansas and never hydroplaned or got squirrelly. Then hit Virginia and some ice and no problems. Very quiet and smooth riding.
I have 285/70/17 AT3w's on my 2000 4Runner with 30,000 miles on them, and they still have lots of tread left. Took on the Alpine Loop in Colorado and they crawled over everything without a problem. They are excellent in the snow and rain and are relatively quiet for an all terrain tire. The price has gone up, but I will probably stick with Falken's when these wear out. The are as good as BFG's off road, and better in the snow and rain, so worth the price in my opinion.
I bought AT3s in 2016 for my 2016 Tundra. I absolutely love them. I've beat the crap out of them. They've seen deep mud, snow, and soft sand. Sad the price went up but They're worth it. They were $300 each at the time I bought them. They are horrible on wet streets though lol.
I get what you're saying about confirmation bias - it makes sense that we all want to justify our purchases. I for one am not worried about calling out my own bad purchases (admitting to myself or others). That said, I agree completely with your points. I was drawn to Falken Wildpeaks for the more affordable price but also realized I'd be doing more highway miles than actual offroading. To me, they've lived up to all their hype and promise. I would honestly purchase them again, I like them that much. Great traction, very respectable noise levels on the freeways/roads, and just all around solid. I run 265/70/16 (thinking of going up to 75 though) on a 2nd Gen Tacoma.
I just put a set of Falken's on my 4Runner a few months ago because the off road tire store suggested them for the pricing. I have since taken them over rock trails, soft sand, etc. I'll be getting another set when the time comes.
They are a very good tire brand. I've been running 245/70R17 Falken Wildpeak A/T3W tires on my 2000 Tundra basically ever since I've owned the truck, about 3 years, and they've been great! They look fantastic and ride great. Good video, You've always got some entertaining content!
After 2 sets of BFGs on my 2000 tundra…back in 2000, I’ve been running Falkens at3 ever since, and now even run the Wildpeak Trails on my AWD Sienna. Much quieter, better rain traction, better snow traction. Feel bad for the dudes who blindly buy KO2s
Put A/T3W on my 2017 Tacoma and put 60k on them and liked them so much that I bought the same exact tires again and then Just swapped them onto my 2023 Tacoma Pro. Great tires in rain and snow, not to loud and last the recommended distance if rotated correctly. I did take a slight hit on MPG’s though 2-3 MPG’s. Will buy them again when I need my next set. I usually buy them when they have sale.
I have a 2 trucks. One with a set of KO2 and the other with stock AT3WA. I took both of them out to play in the snow. While not a purely scientific observation the AT3WA gave me more confidence than the KO2.
Bought my first wildpeak at3 and they’re the quietest AT tires I have ever used. We got hit with a couple MN snow storms and it had no problem plowing through the snow.
I live in ND & been looking at the AT3W for almost a year & was wondering how they handle on the snow & ice. Currently I Pirelli Scorpion all season which came with the truck. But they suck in the Winter & Icy roads.
I’ve had KO2s, Nitto Ridge Grapplers, Cooper Discoverer ST Max, and Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws both in 33 OEM on my Gladiator and aftermarket 12.5 x 35s. My favorite are the Falken Wildpeak 35s. Great grip wet and dry, offroad and onroad, summer and winter, durable while still being sticky, tough mutli ply construction, ride is just right in the E load. My second fav are the Coopers, but they are a bit harsher than the Falkens. So long as Falken doesn’t change anything I don’t see myself changing tire brands again.
I just purchased a set of Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail tires for my 2011 Toyota Venza, FWD, V6. This is a beautiful tire... MPGs are still respectable, I can pretty much go anywhere, and the tires give my Venza a mean look!!! Do your own research, but IMHO, these tires are worth the money spent. Thank you, Falken and Tyler (Awesome video)
I was one of the only ones who had the Wildpeak AT3Ws on my Jeep in 2017. Absolutely loved them. I now have a Ram 1500, which come stock with the AT3wA, which is a dumbed-down version for OEM applications, but I still love them. When my stockers wear out, im thinking about the new AT4ws.
I’ve had BFG’s that wore unevenly and wife’s Cherokee had firestones (which were ok) and coopers which were loud. We both have wild peaks now and love them. Cherokee is a beast in the snow and I’ve got 60k on my Raptor with them.
I got them on a brand new 2022 jeep Gladiator, never even heard of them before, I am really impressed with their winter ❄️ performance, I'm in northern Alberta Canada, so yeah we got winter here. No question I would be looking for them again!
I love the Wildpeak AT3W on my Raptor I have had to work to get the truck to rotate in the snow and loose and when running winter autocross and scca rallycross events. Easily the best tire I could have asked for in Wisconsin!!
I have had great experiences with Falken tires over the years. I have their Rubitrek AT’s on my Tacoma and Sincera SN205’s on our Outback. Both are awesome tires for the money. They consistently give you a lot for your money. 👍🏻
I experienced these for the 1st time when i bought a 2022 Jeep Rubicon Gladiator with them, living in north central Alberta Canada yeah we got winter ❄️ and im actually impressed with their performance in the snow and on icy roads. Definitely i will be looking for another set when i need them.
I’m on my first set of Falken AT3W’s on a Ram 1500 crew cab. I gained interest in the Falkens after my son purchased an older Ram that came with MT’s and they appeared to be wearing very well. I’ve tried the OEM Goodyears and always had to replace after 30,000 miles. I’ve also have used three different models of Coopers, some multiple times, with the same results. I currently have close to 30,000 miles on the AT3W’s and still have plenty of tread and will be going into my third winter! Not to mention, they have been wearing evenly unlike the other two brands. I’ll be replacing the OEM Firestone AT’s on my wife’s Cherokee very soon. I’m just try to decide between the AT3W or the AT Trail. I’m sure either will be better than the ice skates it currently has. Thanks for the informative video.
I put a set of them on my Subaru Outback XT. They were Great! Went with BFG Trail and they don’t handle as well. Will go back to the Wildpeaks when these wear out.
I have the AT3 on both my Gladiator (OEM) and my VW Alltrack. I agree with all the points in the video. I got them on the VW because I was constantly getting nails n screws in spots that were not repairable. Problem solved at the expense of fuel economy and slightly more noise. The only issue is weight, the specs show they are on the heavier side so I will be going with KO2 when I jump a size to 35 on the gladiator.
Honestly my Falkens on my Gladiator have been great. Sitting at 51k with a bit of tread left. Snow and light mud isn’t a problem. Happier with these than the ko2! Gonna try out the nitro trail grapplers next.
Got my wildpeaks at3w’s when they dropped. Just took them off my truck and they had tread. Loved these tires. Payed 200$ now they are 359$ for the same tire. Went 54,000 roughly. Got Mickey Thompson Baja boss a/t’s because I wanted better mud performance and they are awesome too, very aggressive compared too wildpeaks for same price
I’ve had 37” wildpeak at3’s on my 2020 f350 since it was new. They have over 80,000km on them now and they are wearing like iron. Still have plenty of tread left and good traction in a recent snowfall. They have been good tires but it’s time to price out replacements and was surprised to see they have jumped from being one of the cheapest options to the most expensive option by a wide margin. They’ve been great, I think people over state their winter traction, they are good in snow but they aren’t THAT good. Not sure if they are worth $200 more a tire than their competition, but they have been good tires.
The price is still pretty close and usually lower than the competition. Otherwise look into the falken rubitreks- almost the exact same tire,- sometimes cheaper. No complaints with mine
I got a set of Rocky Mountain AT'S in probably 2010-ish. I was just looking for a cheap set of 31's and got them because I had heard of Falken from Gran Turismo on PS1. Edit: They were great. Handled well on the road, balanced, did well in snow.
Ill hands down say best tire to date on any of my Jeeps. Currently running 37/12.5/37 D rated new at 23.5k miles and now 65k miles and still at 13/32s tread new they are 18/32's tread depth. My Jeep sees lots of rough Rocky mountain trail and snow, Moab ext. These are now on my Dodge Ram. I'll be going back with these once again
Great video. Well thought out. I just bought my first set of Falken Wild Peak AT and I am looking forward to winter. (20 inch, 245 50 series for my wife's Venza) Hoping they are as good as their reputation.
I liked K02s, but my third set weren't as good. And my local dealer told me he's had some bad experiences with them recently and said he stopped recommending them. It's nearly snow time, and I need new tires, so this is a timely review for me.
Planning on going with Falken wildpeak AT3W for my Land Rover Freeladner 2. Would like to change to them now but the Delinte DH7 that were put on by the dealer are still going strong tread wise. May just pull the trigger on 5 AT3W in the new year though.
I want to buy AT3W's for the softer tread compound over the AT4W's. Better winter performance. Seems like they are sold out everywhere. Hope they are still making them. The winter performance on my stock 2021 Ram 1500 (AT3WA's) was great. Now They are worn out with 55k miles.
Talking about "most people may not be qualified to talk about tires"; I've come to realize there are a ton of different use cases and experience levels, I think it's best to find others that are actually getting out and doing what you do/want to do and speak to them about their experiences. I was doing some research on my next set of tires for my first gen tundra and found that most people just recommend whatever they've bought last, and nobody shares what they're actually using them for.
I lost 1-2mpg on my f250 with wildpeaks. They were great in the heavy snow though. I picked up a second set of rims with michelin ltx a/t2's for the summer which ride smoother, quieter, and max out my mpg.
I’ve gone 65000km on bf Goodrich ko2’s (load e) I’ve got enough tread to go through another Pacific Northwest winter. It’s going to be a great deal for me to switch.
I had this problem with BFG tires and people telling me they weren’t bad tires. The off road performance was lack luster at best and they died after 5k miles with the BFG refusing to warranty them. Replaced them with coopers and haven’t had the same problem yet but those only have 10k miles so far. It was just super frustrating that I wasted $1500 on a set of tires just to have to replace them within 6 months. I posted about it and everyone said it was my alignment and that the tires are the best and have no flaws. The sad part was I tried to explain to them that my alignment was fine and I had it checked and they refused to listen to the facts because it made their tire brand that they simp for look bad.
For all the mentions of how they did some things first, I am very surprised at the lack of mention that they were the first to make a mild (more pavement-oriented) all-terrain tire specifically designed for crossover vehicles. That is the Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail. The model variant was even chosen as OE fitment for the Toyota RAV4 TRD Off-Road, though in a downgraded-form compared to the aftermarket version to Toyota's specification. For perspective, various other tire manufacturers have responded accordingly and have released their own take on the emerging mild all-terrain category meant to address the wants and needs of both crossover vehicle users and truck/SUV users who want something milder than a conventional all-terrain variant. Not only that, they even factored in specific niche fitments/applications that require a V-speed rating (149 MPH). This so happens to be an optimal tire for my niche vehicle, a Subaru Outback XT. The vehicle is able to exceed 130 MPH (assuming no governor in play). So for those who want that specific speed capability rolled into a mild all-terrain tire with the 3PMSF-rating for that 225/55R17 OE tire size, nobody but Falken makes it.
My Santa Cruz will be getting Wildpeaks, so we'll see. I've had a great experience with their street performance tires. All that said, my 92 Toyota has BFG KOs (the first generation) that are now about 13 yrs old. No dryrot, or any other issues, including punctures. I obviously don't drive it much, but they have about 30k miles on, and off, road, and show minimal wear. That's a consumer experience that's tough to beat. But, I will admit that they're not the best rain tire.
I love Falken. They went 80k on the front and 100k on the back of our cobalt. I put at3w on my jeep front, then at4w on the back because they said the at3w was no longer available.
I have their crossover version on my Jeep Renegade. Nice tires, handle well on pavement and gravel, even on uneven rutted gravel roads. Rifle season I will find out how they do on mud and dirt, and January ill find out how they do with snow. Definitely better riding than the ones i had on my old s10 and outpreform the Firestone 3 seasons I had before in all situations, except MPG. I lost 1-2 of those. They also seem decently puncture resistant, cought some scrap laying in the road i didnt notice and they where fine. Thats exactly how my Firestones failed. Rural PA, we like random nails and hooks on the road outside of cell service areas. Builds character.
@208Tyler Yeah I like them so far, I can't fully recommend them yet as they have less than 8k on them and I haven't put them through ice, snow and winter/spring mud. That's when the "love or hate" will come. Hopefully they don't collect mud like my trucks old A/Ts did.
I have not had any issues with them in rain or snow. They seem predictable and more than adequate. I do not, however, live in a big precipitation state and get year round opportunities to test out the tires in big rain events.
Thanks for the content. Agree that tyre reviews have limited relevance. Professional reviews are generally sponsored in some form & in the majority of cass consumer reviews are based on subjective opinions opposed to objective. Not to say that a subjective review has no relevance but the reviewer needs to be qualified in the subject matter. In my experience, all brand name MT tyres (Non Chinese. Although the Chinese brands will eventually produce quality tyres) which I have used have been good. As a consumer without subject matter expertise I can say that Hankook MT tyres have handled better on wet sealed roads compared to BFG KM2 MT and I could not say if one was better than the other in the mud. I like to try different brands (because it seems to be the only way to truly know if a tyre brand meets my expecations) and Falken were already on my list of brands to consider for my next purchase. Cheers from OZ
It doesn’t surprise me that they are a top AT tire… Im on my 2nd set of WP At3’s on a 2017 4Runner after an awful BFG KO 2 experience. The Wildpeakes have exceeded my expectations..
Have been very disappointed in the winter performance. Doesn’t release snow from the treads well and then I have slicks. Great on dry trail, rock, pavement though. Quietest heavy duty 4 wheel I’ve driven
my understanding was that a good snow tire traps snow, as snow on snow is better and grippier and doesn't dig down. they are not like a mud tire that you want to push snow out.
Lol. Nobody saw it coming? I did. We put a set of the wildpeak on like 7 years ago in the 4runner. They are grippy in everything except deep mud, and they wear great, ride great and are quiet on the highway. These are now at the point they need replacing.
Good tires, but as they increase in popularity they are definitely cranking up the price. I was consider the RT, but in a 37 they were 500.00 ea ... opted to try the Milestar XT instead.
What about the kenda rt? I have had a couple sets of the bfg ko2 285/70/17 and really like them. I’m looking to up size to 35/10.5/17 and Kenda is the only brand that has a pizza cutter size 35 and has really good reviews. What are your thoughts on them?
On my second set of my perelli scorpion all terrain plus on my 2002 pathfinder 5 speed. Great tire. On my. Xterra pro4x 6 spd I just put in Firestone Destination XT. Love them so far.
when considering new tires, first thing is, never mind 'looks'. put that right outta your mind. second, research third party instrumented testing, as many credible sources possible and formulate an idea of the tire's true characteristics and if that meets your criteria. there are a few good ones out there. these can be corraborated by personal reviews to round out the picture. the good thing is, there are many great tires out there, and they all pass minimum testing to even make it to sale. however, it's relative performance - that is, relative to their peers, that matters most, as some are better than others, in certain categories. and AT tires, are the world's most difficult tire to do well as there are so many competing and opposing priorities. by all accounts, the Wildpeaks are clearly very good, with a good balance of attributes without being the category leader in any one area.
Best? Maybe most popular. I like the AT Trails on my Crosstrek, but they're far from the best offroad tires I have used. The most versatile so far have been siped mudders, like the Trxus MT.
They are great here in montana, bought them mainly for the winters here and weekend warrior activities. They are killer and I will probobly stick with them for new tire sets to come.
It’s got a two ply sidewall… I’ll go with the ko2 , although I’d consider it with a three ply sidewall, the ko2 is cheaper too, why is this under dog so expensive now?
Great review, HOWEVER... what you did not mention was the fact that the Wildpeaks are comparably heavier. In fact, in a LT315/70 R17 size, the Wildpeaks are a full 8 pounds heavier than the comparable BFG A02! That's substantial. I have a 2019 Jeep Rubicon Unlimited which came stock with BFG A02 285/70 R17's. They weigh about 52 pounds each. I want to go up to a 315 but am conscious of the increased weight. To stay with the BFG's means an increase of 8-9 pounds per corner. To go to the WIldpeaks is an increase of 18-19 pounds per corner! That's a heavy consideration for me and makes me somewhat hesitant to pull the trigger on the Falkens, even though they're about $60 cheaper per tire (and of course I've got to buy 5 so my spare matches what's on the ground). Nonetheless, your comparison is helpful and, as always, thank you for sharing. Steve
Yes! Ko2’s are ok but the Falken is better. My buddies who run Falken At3w seem to never get stuck. Not sure if its just the driver but im sure the tires make a huge difference. I have k02’s on my k5 and looking to replace them with Falken.
Falken AT3W user here. It is not bad on road(or maybe best among AT tires) but mediocre off road. From my experience of 4-5 snow wheeling in the PNW, KO2 performs better than my Falken. At the same size, Falken is also heavier.
Tire shopping is never ending. So many brands, models, and sizes

Yup, definitely gone up! But they’re still pretty competitive price wise

Liar
Just giving my honest opinion on a product that iv personally tested why would I need to lie not like I'm sponsored?
Been running them for many years. Great on and off road plus snow.

I've had a set of rubitreks for over a year. I'm a spirited driver in sequoias and they do great in all conditions.

Perfect!
They are a very good tire brand. I've been running 245/70R17 Falken Wildpeak A/T3W tires on my 2000 Tundra basically ever since I've owned the truck, about 3 years, and they've been great! They look fantastic and ride great. Good video, You've always got some entertaining content!
I agree! Thanks for watching and commenting!
After 2 sets of BFGs on my 2000 tundra…back in 2000, I’ve been running Falkens at3 ever since, and now even run the Wildpeak Trails on my AWD Sienna.
Much quieter, better rain traction, better snow traction.

Just bought my first set 265/65/17 for my 4Runner. Cant wait to put them on! So excited! 🎉
I hope you like them!

My Falken AT3WAs came as standard equipment on my '20 RAM 1500 4x4 crew cab as part of the off-road group. These tires love the snow.
I have a 2 trucks. One with a set of KO2 and the other with stock AT3WA. I took both of them out to play in the snow. While not a purely scientific observation the AT3WA gave me more confidence than the KO2.
A brilliant explanation about consumer justification of their own purchases!
Thanks!
Bought my first wildpeak at3 and they’re the quietest AT tires I have ever used. We got hit with a couple MN snow storms and it had no problem plowing through the snow.
That’s awesome! Glad you like them
Agreed, just got a set installed on my 2018 4r and I couldn’t believe how damn quite they were on road
I live in ND & been looking at the AT3W for almost a year & was wondering how they handle on the snow & ice. Currently I Pirelli Scorpion all season which came with the truck. But they suck in the Winter & Icy roads.
I also run Wildpeak AT3Ws in Minnesota and I pull people out of snow banks every winter with no real issues.
Thanks for sharing your experience!
I’m glad you like them! Thanks
Just put a set of these tires on my Jeep wrangler and I like them a lot. Can't wait to see how they do in snow.
Hopefully they work well for you!
I got them on a brand new 2022 jeep Gladiator, never even heard of them before, I am really impressed with their winter ❄️ performance, I'm in northern Alberta Canada, so yeah we got winter here. No question I would be looking for them again!
I put the at3w 10 ply on my 22 tundra trd off-road 295/70/18, I like them a lot .
I love the Wildpeak AT3W on my Raptor
I have had to work to get the truck to rotate in the snow and loose and when running winter autocross and scca rallycross events.
Good to hear!
Love my wildpeaks
They make a great tire!
Nicely done. Great F.Y.I.
Thanks for your time and for putting out such excellent content. Appreciate you!
R.Sigs ~ Michigander ✌🏻
Thank you! Happy to hear you enjoyed the video!
Glad you like your falkens and they’re working well. Thanks for commenting!
Wife’s had wild peaks on her Cherokee for a couple of years and it’s a beast in the CO snow. I’ve got 60k miles on them on my Raptor.
I put a set of them on my Subaru Outback XT. They were Great! Went with BFG Trail and they don’t handle as well. Will go back to the Wildpeaks when these wear out.
Getting the Falken AT4W on my Excursion this week and I’m really looking forward to how it compares to my existing BFG KO2.
I work at the Buffalo ny plant. Proud to build semi truck tires also
That's awesome! Thanks for commenting
i put them on my rav4 a year ago and they have done very well. very quiet on the highway and stable doing high speed dirt.
Yup, they’ve definitely gone up. Winter performance is prone to tall tales haha.
Shop around, hopefully you can find a deal on them!
Love them!
yes these tires are exceptional
Ill hands down say best tire to date on any of my Jeeps. Currently running 37/12.5/37 D rated new at 23.5k miles and now 65k miles and still at 13/32s tread new they are 18/32's tread depth. My Jeep sees lots of rough Rocky mountain trail and snow, Moab ext. These are now on my Dodge Ram. I'll be going back with these once again
I’m glad to hear you like them so much!
I bought AT3W for my tundra as a dual duty off road and winter tire and find its a good compromise.
Great video. Well thought out. I just bought my first set of Falken Wild Peak AT and I am looking forward to winter. (20 inch, 245 50 series for my wife's Venza) Hoping they are as good as their reputation.
I hope you enjoy them! Thanks for commenting
I liked K02s, but my third set weren't as good. And my local dealer told me he's had some bad experiences with them recently and said he stopped recommending them. It's nearly snow time, and I need new tires, so this is a timely review for me.
Glad it could help! The AT3W’s are a great tire, I’d certainly recommend those. My rubitreks have been good too.
Give them a try, I don't think you'll regret it.
I love timeline videos that show the history and development of tires you think you can do some more Brands like Toyo and Yokohama next please
Thanks! I appreciate it! I’d consider it! This video was a little outside of my niche but fun to make!
Nice! Best of both worlds!
Wildpeaks are heavier than most similar tires. Might explain the reduction in fuel efficiency
Ltx/At2s are super underrated for a road biased AT
Big fan of the AT3W. Shame I only got about 25K before suffering a blowout due to dry rot. Think it was a bad batch. Still would use again 👍
That’s really unfortunate!
Dry rot? Do you mean it was cracking? Where you at?
I’ve gone 65000km on bf Goodrich ko2’s (load e) I’ve got enough tread to go through another Pacific Northwest winter. It’s going to be a great deal for me to switch.
They are super close to a Duratrac in snow but I like them better on the highway towing. I still go Duratrac on my off road setup.
I have at3w on my truck and just got my wife a set of street tire on her Rav4. They were one of the cheapest average tire for her car.
Insightful! That's pretty cool
Love mine as I just got them on my tacoma
Glad you like them!
I love Falken. They went 80k on the front and 100k on the back of our cobalt. I put at3w on my jeep front, then at4w on the back because they said the at3w was no longer available.
I run bald Firestones. The chords provide extra grip once they begin to show.
🤣
Nice! Haven’t heard much from anyone with the those tires! Glad you like them
@208Tyler Yeah I like them so far, I can't fully recommend them yet as they have less than 8k on them and I haven't put them through ice, snow and winter/spring mud. That's when the "love or hate" will come. Hopefully they don't collect mud like my trucks old A/Ts did.
Their biggest mistake is to not sell the AT3W in Europe.
It would be my first pick, but now I might get the KO3 instead.
@208Tyler How has the on road wet performance/hydroplaning been?
I have not had any issues with them in rain or snow. They seem predictable and more than adequate.
I do not, however, live in a big precipitation state and get year round opportunities to test out the tires in big rain events.
What a great deep dive!
Thank you! I appreciate it
Thoughts on the AT4?
These are nice but I am a Mickey Thompson guy which are more aggressive and spendy but they work real well
Thanks for the content.
I've been using BFG KO's till they're bald; no issues thus far👌
BFG KO2's still the best.. High speed desert pre running at 20psi no problem.. Snow no problem. Only flats i've ever gotten was nails and screws.
It doesn’t surprise me that they are a top AT tire… Im on my 2nd set of WP At3’s on a 2017 4Runner after an awful BFG KO 2 experience. The Wildpeakes have exceeded my expectations..
That’s a great to hear!
Why didn’t you like the KO2’s? I love the tread pattern design on them but haven’t tried them yet
@@rey5597 My guess is cause KO2 is terrible on wet roads.
Ordered the a/t4w's today for my ram 3500. Please be as good or better than the a/t 3.
Hopefully they are!
I've got over 60,000 on a set on my Dodge Ram 2500 and will buy another set when these wear out
That’s great to hear!
My new rubitreks seem louder than the atw3 I had on there but maybe its the alignment I got? Idk
That would surprise me. Did you go from a passenger tire to a LT tire?
Have been very disappointed in the winter performance. Doesn’t release snow from the treads well and then I have slicks. Great on dry trail, rock, pavement though. Quietest heavy duty 4 wheel I’ve driven
my understanding was that a good snow tire traps snow, as snow on snow is better and grippier and doesn't dig down. they are not like a mud tire that you want to push snow out.
Love mine but they do run heavy. Would really like to see them lose some weight. At 33" they are 20% heavier than the KO2.
Lol. Nobody saw it coming? I did. We put a set of the wildpeak on like 7 years ago in the 4runner. They are grippy in everything except deep mud, and they wear great, ride great and are quiet on the highway. These are now at the point they need replacing.
It’s a thumbnail, don’t take it personally
@@208Tyler I'm aware. But I looked at our records and we bought our first falken wildpeak AT's 10 years ago. That's a personal experience,🙄👍😜
hankook 30x9.5x15 183.00 at walmart only tire that lasted over 5 years on my XJ
My dad bought some WP’s but says they aren’t as good as the Mickey Thompson Baja boss AT’s he has on his other vehicle.
Good tires, but as they increase in popularity they are definitely cranking up the price. I was consider the RT, but in a 37 they were 500.00 ea ... opted to try the Milestar XT instead.
Great tires just wish they had white letters for use on classic trucks and suv’s
What about the kenda rt? I have had a couple sets of the bfg ko2 285/70/17 and really like them. I’m looking to up size to 35/10.5/17 and Kenda is the only brand that has a pizza cutter size 35 and has really good reviews. What are your thoughts on them?
I have no experience with anything from Kenda, can’t say I know anyone who has them.
On my second set of my perelli scorpion all terrain plus on my 2002 pathfinder 5 speed. Great tire.
On my. Xterra pro4x 6 spd I just put in Firestone Destination XT. Love them so far.
Falken won't get my money till the put some white letters on there. I will stick with my Firestone Destination XT till then.
when considering new tires, first thing is, never mind 'looks'. put that right outta your mind. second, research third party instrumented testing, as many credible sources possible and formulate an idea of the tire's true characteristics and if that meets your criteria. there are a few good ones out there. these can be corraborated by personal reviews to round out the picture. the good thing is, there are many great tires out there, and they all pass minimum testing to even make it to sale. however, it's relative performance - that is, relative to their peers, that matters most, as some are better than others, in certain categories. and AT tires, are the world's most difficult tire to do well as there are so many competing and opposing priorities. by all accounts, the Wildpeaks are clearly very good, with a good balance of attributes without being the category leader in any one area.
Best tires ever
Now my Falken WildPeak A/T3W's are $394 a tire, but what are you gonna do. All E rated tires are in the $400 range.
That’s awesome to hear!
It’s got a two ply sidewall… I’ll go with the ko2 , although I’d consider it with a three ply sidewall, the ko2 is cheaper too, why is this under dog so expensive now?
do you recommend P or LT in the Falken?
It depends on the vehicle and your use case.... most SUV's and Pickups will want LT for towing or offroading
Hancook has been a good performer for my Tacoma. Value and reliability at a fair price.
Steve
Does this tire come in the size that fits a Ford F150 Raptor?
I would be almost certain it does, though that size changed from year to year I think
Is there a more well rounded, capable AT tire in the snow than the Wildoeak ATW3?
I haven’t had the chance to test alot of different tires, but everyone I meet who has AT3W’s is happy
Summitomo Encounter AT
General Grabber ATX
Does the 235/85/16 fit on stock suspension?
Dude, for what vehicle??
Dog the tundra 😂 I just snagged a 2000 @@208Tyler
@@vinnybobby3450 ya that fits stock lol
@@208Tyler are you in Lewiston? I just bought mine in bovil
@@vinnybobby3450 no, southwest Idaho
It wasn't will recently that the KO2 offered a tread warranty. BF Goodridge shot themselves in the foot because they dominated the market.
Yup! It was there’s to lose, and falken has done great recently.
Go for the Generals, ATX's.
Still affordable.
You think they are better than k02s
I haven’t used K02’s personally, so I couldn’t say
Yes! Ko2’s are ok but the Falken is better. My buddies who run Falken At3w seem to never get stuck. Not sure if its just the driver but im sure the tires make a huge difference. I have k02’s on my k5 and looking to replace them with Falken.
K02s are alright but very unreliable in the snow/heavy rain
K02's, great purely off road biased tire. terrible test results in almost every other metric. lots of research and tests out there.
Falken AT3W user here. It is not bad on road(or maybe best among AT tires) but mediocre off road. From my experience of 4-5 snow wheeling in the PNW, KO2 performs better than my Falken. At the same size, Falken is also heavier.
