    Seems to me there was a bit of a power level discrepancy in this one but could be wrong I suppose. Seeing fast mana like mana vault and chrome mox paired with things like diamonds in other decks looks a little fishy

    Pako is always a kill on sight commander. I literally took my deck apart since I could never get in more than 1 combat a game with pako (even with protection) since everybody would kill spell it to avoid it snowballing.

    • @justinisorange

      I made mine pako and halden control so it would easily protect pako and it was the flip side where games would get so boring and oppressive that I had to take it apart

    I'm not sure why Morgan didn't cast Chandra's Ignition during his own turn... both opponents were tapped out, so less chances of any of them answering to anything, he wouldn't lose any lands to Price of Glory and Andrew would've been left with no creatures and little life.

    I made a sub-optimal temur deck with Pak and Haldan (it was actually just a bunch of good stuff spell slinger sheananigans) and it was so awesome. Pako was such a beast in no time at all.
    Also: I also put in like 99% of my life into the processor....and that is without Trostani on the field :p ). Gotta take some risks from time to time right?

  • @DarkEinherjar
    @DarkEinherjar 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    People talk about how Pako is busted, but the truth is that no one bothered to do anything about Haldan or Stolen Strategy, the two cards giving Morgan all the card advantage he needed.
    If I were drawing up to seven additional cards each turn, no matter what deck I'm running, I would probably be unstoppable too.
    People are apparently too scared of the big boi's size to notice the real danger.

    Pako/haldan is resilient against stax. Pako is usually played at latest at turn 3 prior to opponents setting up their board. Seems to me that other players have not done correct threat assessment when pako hits the board. Maybe having chrome mox and mana vault in the deck seems seems cedh in a pod of casuals but the pako player did not mulliganed AGGRESSIVELY for really fast mana.

    It always a feel bad moment.

    • @brandoncreek5709
      @brandoncreek5709 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Disagree. People make the mistake of comparing Pako to Sen Triplets but the fact is that Pako is one of the most tame theft decks in the sense that he doesn't take resources from you. He's taking the top card of your library, which you didn't have access to anyway, so it doesn't matter. If he took cards from your hand, it would be way more unfun.

    Lot of people complaining about Pako, but barely anyone is pointing out that there was basically 0 interaction from the rest of the table...
    I think most people who complain about Pako are the same people that only run like 5 removal spells in their deck. Or people who think Pako is a Cedh pub stomp deck every time (Which even by Cedh standards Pako is mid at best)

    I think there were some easy to miss mistakes made on Turn 6 when Trostani attacks and is blocked by Hushbringer.
    1. The Dockside Extortionist that Jeska's Will exiled cannot be played since you must follow the normal timing permissions and restrictions for the exiled cards. For example, you can’t play lands this way unless you have land plays available.
    2. Dockside Extortionist's ETB would not make treasures since Hushbringer has not left the field yet.

    • @MTGMuddstah
      @MTGMuddstah  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi!
      1. Morgan had Veldaken Orrery out so he could flash the cards in exile (I believe)
      2. I mentioned he waited until after they died. We were just slow clearing the board.

    • @TheJustinist
      @TheJustinist 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1. Vedalken Orrery
      2. The chaos wand was at end of combat (after damage) and at 8:10 (the same combat), the hushbringer was destroyed as it blocked Tristoni during the damage step.

    • @VRanger100
      @VRanger100 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MTGMuddstah Yeah you're right. It was easy to miss since the Veldaken Orrery was hidden under the editing and the slow at removing the board didn't register. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
