Just saw this yesterday; thanks for the bee pollen tip! Rosa actually ate greens today! She is a rescue from a bi-lingual special education classroom. She was NOY properly fed. She came to us morbidly obese and refusing to eat anything but superworms and crickets (handfed to her). She has been slimmed down and can now clumsily hunt worms in a dish. Have tried for over a year to get her to eat veggies. SHe will eat a few berries if presented in the tongs.

Another great tip for a cheap background for your bearded dragon's enclosure, is adhesive shelf liners, my bearded dragon's enclosure looks like a wood lodge (because he's a manly Meep). You can find them at the dollar store, or if you want it to be fancy, you can get a large sheet from Amazon for a decent price, and they're typically sold in 5ft or more in length.
Also, I've been meaning to get some bee pollen, but I keep forgetting to get some, my boi Meep is super picky and doesn't like to eat his veggies, he did as a baby, but now he turns his snoot up at the salads I get him.
Also, that female leather back made me think of my first bearded dragon, Piper. I miss her so much. She also needed a bra for that dragon rack lol.
Meep too was a dull looking baby when I got him. He's brightened up in colours over time. He's got some beautiful blue bars on his back. And he beard is a light Orange.

I remember at the University of Saskatchewan geology building, I was looking at their bearded dragons and one of them head-bobbed at me, and having no idea what that meant I head-bobbed back. Of course that made him more adamant about the head-bobbing, and we did that back and forth a bit before I got bored and left. Then I checked on google and found out I'd been having a dominance dispute with that bearded dragon, lol!

We have talked about getting a snake or bearded lizard. We went to an expo recently to see how our kids would react and see what the cost/needs were for them before we purchased a pet. We fell in love with the bearded dragons we saw and interacted with. We will most likely purchase one later this year after some prep and research. I would love to learn more about them. This is really fascinating! My beardie is a rescue from a friend, so I didn’t know anything about his genes, but he’s very healthy and I believe he’s actually a hypo since he has transparent claws. He’s also a very big sweetheart (despite being VERY clingy and restless sometimes). Rescues are the best!

My hubby and I got our bearded dragon, loki for free. The girl who had him originally couldn't care for him anymore. He was really tiny. Only 7inches long at most, and she had him for 2 months. She did get him at a pet store, so I'm guessing he was about 3 months old or so. Not really sure. My husband and I have had him for 2 months. He eats well and is now around 12inches. Maybe more. Last time we measured him was about a month ago.
Thankfully he is healthy, and we got him out of a bad situation. (We didn't want him to suffer a horrible death of starvation and or lack of any type of light).

My beardie is still a baby, he’s about 2-2.5 months old. We actually got him from a pet store that we trust, since they are kinda breeders for reptiles and birds. He’s a fancy bearded dragon, and super active. His name us Qibli, and I love him. He’s active, but really chill and good about being handled

I have a bearded dragon named Hoggle, she has the German Giant Gene and she grew faster than most bearded dragons! Shes a total sweetheart to me, but she gets angry at my step mom and will usually use her leg and make her food bowl flip over to tell her shes hungry. She likes me to feed her by hand because shes lazy, but she gets active too, her leash had little dragon wings on it. We give her super worms and salad with repticalcium on it. She had blue shoulder pads, blue lines along her back, orange lines along her back, and very very bright orange spots all over her.
