- NTG 4.5 COMAND ( COckpit MAnagement and Navigation Device) is installed in several mercedes benz models W212 W207 C218 R172 R231 W166 W176 W246 W204 from (MY2012) W463 from (MY2015)
engineering mode press (hang up + 1 + #)
dealer mode press (hang up + 7 + 9)
NTG stands for New Telematics Generation of Mercedes Benz COMAND

Great video. I have a w166 with the ntg 4.5 Gen 2 with speed limit assist which works only in EU countries while outside the EU it is not recognizing speed signs. I have access to Vediamo and have checked codings in mpc212 but only EU countries appear which are already coded. Do you have any idea what I might need to do? Someone in a forum suggested that mpc212 is an old camera and that other countries are activated through the command which I saw that there were some setting in Engineering mode that you showed.

I am not familiar with the speed limit assist feature because I have never seen it here in the US on NTG4.5.
I have NTG5 or 5.1 but I can't enter into the eng menu with this key combinations. Is there any other key combination?
It's W212 2015, I can see
Comand Aps Ntg5/5.5 on the data card. It has Sd card and sat-nav on it
You have to activate engineering mode with vediamo diagnostic software, and then you can enter engineering
How do you access with NTG5.1 it is a CLA 250 year 2015? End call + 1 + # doesn’t seem to work… but end call + 7+ 9 will get to some other weird menu

try hang-UP 1 # if this dont work your comand unit engineering mode is disabled and can be enable with vediamo, also check out my new video,hope it helps

On W292, eng mode has to be activated with vediamo after ntg 5 eng mode is kind of locked. For the dealer menu, check out my other video I did for s550 dealer manu

Hi if I go to this menu I get another screen on a w212 facelift do you know how to activate the aux
If your car has aux as an option, you should be able to use it without entering engineering mode

@@German-garage Tried that with no luck. The only menu I can access is hang up 7 + 9 the Dealer menu.

Hi friend, How can i change region code from JAP TO UK OR US IN W205 ?
Map region can be changed by installing new maps in the region you are located, but as far as command unit region you have to install new software for that region but I believe there is an option under engineering mode that you can change region,I will look for it and let you know

Try to find 7 HW settings--7.3 Market/DVD settings--3 Region code
Also try 3 HU information--3.11 TCM information--1 filter information--(a) County code
Or 5 Table version--1 location Table (j) GB

It should work, but you might have an issue with command unit

What's the point you can't really do anything you can't even change the color of your command center
Engineering mode is designed to help after there has been a new unit installed,settings change, or any factory option added,just like the manu said (Engineering mode), you can replace your screen to aftermarket radio unit (android) that will allow you to do what you want

Hey German Garage , I have purchased an aftermarket HU same make model down to part number unfortunately it got locked as soon as I turned it on. Seller sent donor vehicles
