How to install cold air intake on Smart fortwo model 451

This is a how to disassemble the current air intake system and install a cold air intake from Smart Madness. I felt the need to do this video due to the lack of information on how to do this exact thing. So I hoped this helped if not leave a comment down below on how I can improve. Have a wonderful day!

Thank you for doing this video! You ROCK for having the nerve to make this video as us girls know how guys can be critical of us working on our own cars! This video is helpful in that Smart Madness did not send any kind of installation instructions and I hate to go with "self explanatory" on this one. I noted further in the comments that you added the Go Pedal as well. Can you give more info on how well that worked for you? I understand you said it made a big difference...was there change in just throttle lag or in shifting lag as well? Thanks again for the great video!

I recommend the Barney O budget intake over this type of modification. The hardware in the car are Torx not Allen.

No mention of removing the tube that goes to the left rear outside fender vent, still trying to remove it before I can get out the box it connects to.

Are those bolts all Alan key screws or 5 star screws? My 451 needs T25/27 heads but I can't get them out for the life of me.

Would this cause issues with passing emissions, or should it theoretically be fine?

Depends on the state you live in and it's smog regulations.

There were big gain we did the intake and the go pedal from Smart Madness and it was a whole new car almost. The shifting stick you feel in the car when it changes gears basically went away. Thank you for watching.
