@@ChrisMajestic thank you. You mentioned that shadow detail is decent in dark scenes, do you find this makes up for the blacks being subpar?
I returned my TK 700 STI because I found dark scenes were plain bad. Gray, washed out and felt like I could hardly see anything.
Was really crossing my fingers that this would perform better in dark scenes than the 700sti.
I'm also shooting onto a pretty white screen in a dark room, to give you an idea of the setup..

To answer your question at the end, I'm new here and don't typically watch long form videos on TH-cam. Yours was in my recommended section so I gave it a try. The algorithm knew it too I guess lol! I love the no-nonsense style videos like this because it allows me to remember the information more easily. Your delivery is so concise and articulate, very well done man.

Keep up the great work! I bought the BenQ TK700sti during this past cyber Monday and absolutely love it. The room in set up in has an ibeam going right through the middle and I ha e a 120" screen so, I needed that shorter throw distance. Not sure I see this projector being worth $700 more than what I paid for the tk700sti.

@@bobdole2184 @Bob Dole Unfortunately I have not seen any comparison videos for all three. However, I am definitely going with the x3000i. There are less expensive projectors out there but lamp powered. As for the 3 (or 4, for the x3000i), leds, this seems to be the best one out at this point. I saw another video where he did color analysis, etc., and it rated very highly. The official stats from BenQ were overstated, per usual, but still held up nicely. Also, projectorcentral has a nice in depth review of it and it has rave reviews. The worst parts are contrast, as compared with other high end projectors, and slight rainbowing, if you're sensitive to that. But for this price range, the x3000i seems to be the best for the price range.

Hi Chris. Great channel. One QQ about the audio output. In your video you mentioned a toslink output port but the image on the back of the unit says S/PDIF. I have an older receiver without an HDMI port. It was an expensive receiver/amp with enough power to drive 7.1 surround speakers. So I’m not in a rush to replace it if I can make it work with a new projector. Can I use the optical output of this Projector or would the digital audio output be limited to 5.1 audio?

On Optoma, it is watchable with lights on but the best will be with lights off (demo on my channel). On LG projector, I can't watch details with some light on even on ALR screen. I am un-impressed with HDR10 support even on a 4500 lumen commercial model. I've seen some of the 5500 ones and they are finally starting to get close to something more like a TV. @@goatlps Heat generation, noise level, need to warm up and hence longer boot times than laser/LED projectors. Shorter life span and hassle of replacement plus in some areas getting the compatible lamp could be hard. I didn't suggest UHZ65LV which is expensive, I suggested UHZ50 which is more expensive at around 2800$ but no lamp replacement which is a big plus.

I've never owned a projector but have been giving it serious thought lately. Assuming you have a pretty dark room does anyone know if you can improve the black levels by turning down the brightness? I'm sure there is something I'm not thinking about but I guess this is how you learn! Either way I'd rather not spend thousands only to find that I regret the choice.

Do you have to use the third hdmi port for the stick, or can you leave that cover off and potentially just use that hdmi for something else?

Quick question Chris. I've watched a few of your projectors reviews.
You said in one of your videos your favorite projector to use at home is the epson 550 I believe (I'm getting names mixed up so whichever one you said is the one I'm considering)
At $2000 I can get the Ben q 3000xi or the epson.
    Which one should I get?
I game a lot and I'm not a casual gamer (primary use is gaming on the projector). I enjoy games that need the lowest input lag possible to compete well, such games as fortnite and call of duty.
I play on my ps5 so and I prefer to play at 120hrz at a lower resolution than having a higher resolution at 60hrz.
The black levels of the epson was one thing I was worried about. I'm not coming from an oled though. I'm coming from a samsung high end led tv.
Thank you so much for your thoughts.
I've also considered going up to the $3000 mark with the epson ls11000 because it has the hdmi 2.1 which would be great to play games at 120hrz 4k, but I don't think the playstation has any games that play at 120hrz at 4k anyway, and an extra $1000 might be a bit much more than I feel happy with spending.
Also the Earc is important to me for my high end atmos surround sound.
