Audio, the one tech I will NEVER fully understand
I find good audio to be very satisfying, but when youre streaming and you have say, 5 different audio sources you need to be able to control them on the stream, because what your stream hears isnt always what you hear
Honestly it isn't that hard. Even this completely overkill setup is just a bunch of simple stuff connected together in a way that's hard to understand.
Complex things are almost always just many simple things connected together. IMO the connections create the complexity, not the things being connected. To cut thru that complexity, try making a wiring diagram. Because you have to think about the wiring while making the diagram, you'll get a much better understanding of it.
Audio is like driving; you have trucks, vans and cars, but once you learn one you learn them all. There may be a few different techniques and things to consider when driving each type of vehicle, but at its core the concept is exactly the same. The most complicated part of their rig is running 2 audio interfaces on one computer simultaneously. I've worked with a Zoom H4N and I've worked on the the biggest Neve Genesys console in the world, yet audio signal flow is identical once you take away digital conversion and networking.

I like Corsair, I really do. I just FUCKING HATE the rgb craze, PICK A FUCKING COLOR. THERE ARE MILLIONS OF THESE THINGS.
I mean isn't it better to have the option of any color than just one. By having full rgb on things like gpu's, cpu closed loop coolers, mobos, mice and keyboards you have the ability to really customize any theme for a build. Especially now that white cases, boards, and gpus are becoming more common all these lighting options allows for cool flair no matter what style you are going for.
Buy RGB, chose only 1 Color, ignore the three letters, be happy!

Why do you hate having a CHOICE exactly, Ali? It's not like you have to use any kind of animation or rainbow effect. If anything RGB LED as an option (note - OPTION) is one of the best things to happen to PCs in a long time.
But Whiskey... RGB products allow you to do that...and change your mind later without replacing everything.

I like that it way cleaner in terms of cable management and that the setup itself is way easier to use / less likely to screw up.
I have heard good things about the Epiphan capture cards, definitely keeping those in mind.
tsk tsk tsk WAN show will not be the same. The numerous technical difficulties gave it character. Corsair ruined the show by helping you fix it. But I have faith that Linus will still find some way to mess things up occasionally so there is still hope. Even bringing in some audio wizards may not be enough to overcome the curse of Linus.

They're using a voiceover mic, if they used end address mics, it should help while also giving better individual control for their own sounds
There's always *something* extra you can add/tweak/reconfigure/change, even more so with audio setups than PC setups. It pays dividends to your sanity to just say *ENOUGH* at some point and actually get on with using it ;)

Taran re-edited it because the Chinese subtitle company that was going to subtitle the video got pissed off at Dennis referring to Taiwan as Taiwan. So Taran purposely dubbed over any instance of "Taiwan" with "Chinese Taipei" (the universally agreed upon name between mainland China and Taiwan for the Olympics) in the most ridiculously over-the-top way.
Honestly, with a line like "c'mon. this is LTT" I would've expected a Distressor.

A content creator may upload to TH-cam in 4k, but serverside that file needs converting and reencoding to a usable format that's small enough to be sent via https packets, yet of a good enough quality to be played in HD/QHD/UHD etc. Hence why darker colours are so grainy and pixellated.
And so, seeing as a video can be played in any number of different resolutions, as each resolution becomes available it is made viewable. Obviously a 4k resolution version is going to take a lot longer than a 360p version simply because of the difference in file size.

Linus, Worthy note that has helped me with organization and keeping everything easy to use and monitor, put your mixer on top of the server case. It may look ugly or completely stupid, but it will help you monitoring your audio levels and fixing things on the fly
And maybe on a day you are not using the WAN show PC, you should try a test of what would normally happen in a WAN show episode vocally wise with 2 mics, 1 for you 1 for luke

Next up would be to take inspiration from the table you built and make an announcer style table where screens are 'integrated' into the table (i.e. a glass window with the laptop below). Possibly even move the screen for the streaming display to a projection (beamer) placed behind the camera so the screen is not in the way. Thus if you remove a lot of the items from the table, and possibly make it height adjustable, the set-up could be used for build or the intro/outro parts.
