As for productivity, anything that can make use of more cores will (e.g. compiling, rendering, some encoding/transcoding depending on the program used) run better on CPUs with more cores (e.g. 3900x/3950x/10980xe) and since AMD provides more cores at lower price points and stupid amounts of cores at the higher price points (e.g. 64c/128t Threadripper), you tend to get better performance per dollar with AMD. This doesn't mean that Intel sucks, it just means that if anyone asks me what CPU they should get, I will recommend AMD over Intel unless that person really wants a Intel CPU.

I just recently made a desk from a 98 inch ikea Karlby countertop and the alex drawers, I would suggest getting the signum cable managements for some of the people who didn't do any management on theirs. I grabbed two of those and an extra leg for the back middle to manage the cables and it makes it nice and easy.
Maybe I’m completely wrong but I feel like I might have been among the first group of people to do that “Alex drawers with a stand alone ikea table top” setup. I remember feeling so clever for figuring that out way back in like 2010-2011. I remember comparing all available desks with the same amount of drawer storage and desktop space and they were all at least double the price of the ikea route. I’m on my second iteration of that setup now and both have served me incredibly well for very cheap.
