Consoles aren't (and have never really been) super profitable- they've often even been sold at a loss by Microsoft, Sony, Sega, you name it. Its pretty grody. But they ARE being transparent- from the horses mouth, the future of Xbox will likely be a service, not hardware.
If xbox wants to be a on top again, they 1st. need to release some new hardware probably release it about a year earlier into the 10th gen compared to sony like the 7th gen with the xbox 360 and absolutely generational define hardware 2. then focus on prime exclusives to reel players in onto the platform 3. then invents in its other services instead of trying to open up their platforms, just like what sony does 4. We are the xbox. Lower your standards and surrender your devices. We will add your screens and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile.
As a PC player who doesn’t have to live with the consequences of this I welcome Xbox going full third party because then I get to laugh hysterically as Sony fanboys get their wish for Sony to become a monopoly😂. Microsoft hasn’t even left yet any Sony is already milking the paypigs dry by raising the prices of the base consoles, and controllers (haven’t even fixed stick drift, so from a consumer’s standpoint there’s no reason for the increased price. Plus, their older controllers didn’t have drift since then they actually cared about making a good product). They’re also charging $700 for what in most cases is just a marginal upgrade that doesn’t even include the disk drive/stand, and isn’t backwards compatible with disks prior to the PS4. It’s going to be so entertaining watching this dumpster fire unfold once the competition is gone (not that Microsoft has been competing. They clearly haven’t cared since the Xbox One reveal. And Nintendo are doing their own thing)🤣
I agree. Why buy an Xbox when i can simply buy a Switch, switch 2 or PS5 and just get those games on those consoles. Microsoft is shooting themselves in the foot with this strategy and it's going to backfire on them big time. In fact it already did!..
@ricln5464 Because people who buy PS5 and Switch buy them for their exclusives. You may be able to play CoD on your TV but I'm sure not everything is available on TV (you can correct me if I'm wrong in that.I don't know what games are available on smart tvs) Microsoft is eliminating the need to buy the console while Sony still giving you reasons to buy it..
@alpha-boss im sorry, but this is only half true! Is right for the Switch, but the vast majority of PS5 buyers get one for Cod and little else. A small percentual of PlayStation players buy the exclusives games. What Xbox did here was eliminating the main reason why people buy a PS5, the wish to play Cod.
@ricln5464 This is not about the PS. This is about Xbox. But PS hardware is still selling way better than Xbox regardless of what's going on PS. Xbox sales have been going down and not improving. This gen might be the 2nd worst gen for Xbox..
@alpha-boss You are the one that putted PlayStation in the discussion lol What im sayng is that exclusives dont matter unless you are Nintendo, this is a pretty objective fact (the data shows it) so Xbox isn't shooting itself on the foot at all here. They got that PlayStation will sell regardless of the games, so they are expanding to other devices while being ok with Xbox selling less
They are eliminating the need of a box and what people need to understand. Which in their situation is a good strategy. They can't and will never be able to beat Sony and Nintendo so why not spread their options to increase their chances of making more money. I don't see a problem with not having the need to own an Xbox. The problem is them putting their games on competitors hardware which leads to eliminating the need to buy the Xbox. That's the problem in their strategy but after spending $80 billion you can't blame them for doing it. Microsoft cares about "money" not our feelings..
Okay RedFall wasn't their fault. That game is on the studio. That game was being developed before they were acquired so that game is on the studio. Why do you people forget that part?..
@@alpha-boss Microsoft bought the studio they could have scraped the game got more devs on it , delayed it until it was ready , make them go back to the drawing board etc it's Microsoft that allowed it to go live in the state that it was , stop making excuses for them they thought it was acceptable to put that game out because you guys wouldn't cancel gamepass over it and it pads out they subscription
@weplayvrgames The game probably was long in development, so there is no way they were going scrap it after all that investment the studio made. You can disagree with me, but that's where I stand on this. RedFall is NOT on Microsoft, but people like to hate because they like to hate... As a 23 year old who have never ever gamed on console, more games on PC is a good thing. If the game isn't available on PC it might as well not exist.
We are the xbox. Lower your standards and surrender your devices. We will add your screens and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile.
Your video is falling apart
Sick of morons saying the ps5 doesn't have games? Have you played all the PS exclusives? And i mean all?
Xbox brand continues to spiral into memes. Smfh.
League of XBOX
But the strategy also adress that: why buy a PS5 to play Cod, when i can just play it on my smart TV?
@alpha-boss You are the one that putted PlayStation in the discussion lol
What im sayng is that exclusives dont matter unless you are Nintendo, this is a pretty objective fact (the data shows it) so Xbox isn't shooting itself on the foot at all here. They got that PlayStation will sell regardless of the games, so they are expanding to other devices while being ok with Xbox selling less
Everyone playing checkers and Xbox is playing chess. Playstation has followed Xbox in everything. This will be no different.
I am going to use Linux for making my laptop not a xbox
Okay RedFall wasn't their fault. That game is on the studio. That game was being developed before they were acquired so that game is on the studio. Why do you people forget that part?..
Redfall wasnt going to be a live service before xbox bought them.
@Totallyharrison It doesn't matter. The point it is that game is not Microsoft's fault..
Let's agree to disagree because this will not go anywhere ....
Time to dig out the Old retro gaming consoles
