We started playing through the Ace Attorney games on stream for fun, but they've since become semi-formal Voice Acting Practice. I figured I'd share some of the better moments.

I have played many Ace Attorney games and I really love this franchise.

@@tantris2876 In the first game of the original trilogy he's pretty much the only person with a brain cell... well, he and Mia who comes back from the dead to fix Pheonix' cases for him when he's too dumb to figure them out
Okay, but think about it for a second, a character who uses pure logic to solve cases in ACE ATTORNEY would absolutely be the smartest and dumbest character in the series, it's the same even today, recently Miles has had to put up with fearless international spies and time travel.

However, I haven’t played the games yet, and she seems to have not committed any crimes. As for Edgeworth.... I know enough about the 1st game’s plot to know that.

To be honest, the same thing happens with Phoenix in Apollo Justice (and I guess also in the Investigations games with how often Miles references him.) Dude seems like the smartest guy in the room who always knows the answer and has a legitimate reason to be known as “The Turnabout Terror,” but in his own games he’s an actual dumbass.
Well, to be fair this is supposed to be the miles of 7 years ago. but still pretty dumb.
I just accept that in order to be an Ace Attorney you also have to minor in being a butt-monkey. Which is why when Klavier Gavin FINALLY gets his own spin off game there will be some moments where he’ll either be embarrassed, harassed, or humiliated by others even tho he is the famed rockstar prosecutor.
I mean, we also see Miles mostly in court and from the perspective of Pheonix, who is an absolute raging homosexual. So he's gonna mentally paint Miles in a light that makes him more appealing.

One of the things that you have to remember when playing any Ace Attorney game is that by taking over control of a character, you instantly drop their IQ by at least 50 points. So long as you aren't in control, they can be a genius.

Slavoid ꙮ ꙮ ꙮ Phoenix is in control the whole time with Kristoph and everything, but also the only reason he won that poker game in 4-1 witout wrongly being accused of cheating was by just happening to put his hand in his pocket. He has all the braincells, but sometimes he just gets lucky like in the games where he’s playable

This game: THE POLICE DONATED A CACTUS???
Objection! The original statement was punctuated with an exclamation mark! Meaning Edgeworth was Offended by the sheer prospect of the Cactus donation from the police! Which I can kind of believe, coming from Edgeworth. I will say no such thing for the rest of the game. Also, I genuinely found that line funny, though it may have been Jello’s delivery that sold me on it.
Wait... I think they may have donated Billy, Jake Marshall's big cactus from Rise from the Ashes.

I have to say my favorite recurring theme from playthroughs of this game is:
- In the first game, not a lot of attention is drawn to the fact that the von Karmas are German, so people don't give Manfred an accent
- But in the second game they explicitly mention right off the bat that Franziska is from Germany, so people do give her an accent
- Then you get to Investigations and finally see Manfred and Franziska interacting onscreen, so people suddenly realize how weird it is that daughter has an accent while father does not
plus franziska is a more obviously german name to most people
I mean, there is an explanation that would work in real life: since Manfred traveled internationally a lot over the course of his life, he could have lost his accent over that time, while Franziska would still have hers because her upbringing in germany was a lot more recent.
... though, this is putting the cart before the horse a bit, since they're just doing the voices as they please XD

The investigations games take place cannonically after the original trilogy. He technically became smarter and more of a pain in the butt after meeting his boyfriend. Which idk if it's better or worse-

The first half isn't half bad, but the last third is just pure agony that YOU WILL NOT BEAT without a guide

Surprisingly enough the endurance run against the villains rebuttals once hes revealed himself o beat in one go I think, but damn was that long as hell

@Tyler Rinn As someone who needed a guide multiple times in the first AA game, I didn't even think it was that hard. It was just so ridiculously tedious, with so many last minute moments and so many breakdowns from Alba. In hell they make you play this case over and over and restart right before the ending every time.

4:00 The two "shut up, Edgeworth"s are sooo in character, it's one of my top moments in the whole playthrough.

It's like watching Game Grumps almost.
The story is extremely predictable, the gameplay is ass-backwards. This whole playthrough is 25 hours long and I ended up cutting a solid hour or so of moments where I present the right piece of evidence one or two steps two early so it doesn't work. The last case is SO BAD about this.

I personally really liked this game, but hey, each to their own. Your Edgeworth voice is on point though
I enjoyed it but the last case was pretty bad. The second game is a gem though
Honestly same, case 3 is imo one of the worst in the series but everything else is really good, case 4 and (while I know I'm wrong about this one) 5 are personally some of my favourites
there are soe flaws but I don't think its bad honestly
it would have been better if Kay and Lang appeared in more than two cases outside of a flashback

its generally considered ok, these people kinda overdo the hate, playing these types of games joking in a group isnt the best experience
It was more popular in Japan which is why the second game never made it overseas
The game is good but its not a game that you play in a group and try to stream on twitch to impress a bunch of kids with dumb jokes and silly voices jeez i can make the godfather or any serious game look stupid if i did that
