Paul Parlette Orndorff Jr. (October 29, 1949 - July 12, 2021), nicknamed "Mr. Wonderful", was an American professional wrestler and college football player, best known for his appearances with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) and World Championship Wrestling (WCW).
After seven years working around the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), Orndorff became a star in the 1980s WWF wrestling boom, and featured with manager Bobby Heenan and champion Hulk Hogan extensively, including in the main events of the first WrestleMania and Survivor Series. With an untreated neck injury, he left the WWF for WCW in early 1990, where he won the WCW World Television Championship and the WCW World Tag Team Championship with Paul Roma (as a team called Pretty Wonderful).
Arm atrophy from a nagging injury led him to retire in 2000 and he was treated for cancer in 2011. After retiring, he trained aspiring wrestlers. Orndorff was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005 and the National Wrestling Alliance Hall of Fame in 2009.
On July 12, 2021, Orndorff died of his dementia at the age of 71 in Atlanta, Georgia.
Paul Orndorff is buried at Camp Memorial Park in Fayetteville North Carolina.
Wrestling will never be the same as it was in the 80s/90s. May he rest in peace. Thanks for the wonderful memories in the squared circle
Me, my Lil Bro, and our Dad watching WWF on Saturdays those were the best days ever. May Pops rest in peace❤❤
He is my favorite wrestler of all time. It broke my heart when he passed away. Thank you for posting the video.
I met Paul about 10 years ago. Super nice guy. One of my favorite wrestlers of all time.
Scott, if you are still in GA.....go to Greenlawn Cemetary in Roswell GA......Ravishing Rick Rude, Atlanta Hawks legend Dan Roundfield, NFL Hall of Famer Chris Doleman, and Braves baseball announcers Ernie Johnson and Pete Van Wieren are all there.
A Big Part of my childhood watching the WWF back in the 80's. RIP Mr. Wonderful. 😢❤ Thank you Scott .
pro wrestling boom in the 80's was awesome.
Orndorff was a key part of WrestleMania 1.
Hulk Orndorff was a great feud.
I met him as a kid. Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. I never knew who he was just that he was one of the in town WWF wrestler. He stopped and told me to be good to my parents.
Time can be cruel, Mr#1derful in his prime was untouchable. Thank you for keeping his memory alive .
I’ll never forget that red robe he had on leaving the ima sports arena one night. Like 1986 or 1987
One of my favorite wrestlers of that time.
Like you said. He was HEWWG (huge), tough to watch him disappear right before our eyes.
Thanks for the great memories Paul. You and Roddy were so much fun to watch! May Paul rest in peace but his soul go on
Thanks! Scott for taking me down childhood memories .Rip Mr Wonderful

I first saw Mr Orndorff on WTBS in the early 80s on Georgia Championship Wrestling. He was great. His battles against Ivan Koloff and Killer Brooks were memorable.

Hi Scott! I am watching your video right now. I remember mr. Wonderful, he was in both wwf and wcw. Thank you for posting this video. You are awesome. Mr. Wonderful was managed by Bobby Heenan.
I appreciate the videos of the ‘wrestling greats.’ I remember watching WWF (name change to WWE was past my time). Feeling nostalgic every time I watch one of these videos. Thanks Scott.
Mr. #1derful was one of my all-time favorite wrestlers.
Dude had it all, the looks, the physique, the talent, and fairly decent doing promos.
RIP you magnificent Legend of the ring.
Nicely done, Scott.
Growing up, I always cheered for the villains in wrestling, movies, cartoons etc. I loved the Cobra Commander in G.I Joe including Destro. Like I literally dreamt about working with Cobra Commander. Even with He-Man I cheered for Skeletor and his comrades. When kids were talking about eating their vitamins and saying prayers because Hogan told them to do so, I was cheering for Paul Orndorff and the Iron Sheik. I even have a set of the Iranian hammers in my home office signed by The Sheik when I was in college back in 1996. The Sheik didn’t give them to me, my old Strength And Conditioning coach gave them to me. I’m from the southeast (Georgia) where the NWA/WCW was king. But I still watched the WWF/WWE on Sunday afternoon when it aired on USA and Saturday night was NWA night then myself and friends went to our local skating rink Cascades. RIP King Paul, I worked out hard so I could get the same physique as Paul
Thanks Scott and I hope you’re enjoying my home state of Georgia
Always love opening up TH-cam and seeing a new video from Scott!

As I am a huge wrestling fan, I love it when I see you have visited a grave of a wrestler. Thank you for taking us with you.
Glad your still in Georgia ! Move here you would fix right in. Glad your here.
Scott I love love love how you take your time when you show the final resting places. You don't rush through it at all. You're always so kind to the deceased as well as those who are viewing your videos. You give us time to take it all in (to fully see the headstone, read all of the words, and taking the whole atmosphere of the cemetery). Thank you for being such an incredible content creator! ☺️👍
I'm not one for commenting but Thank You for doing this one he is one of my all-time favorites.

Great Wrestler Rest In Peace Paul Orndorff You will be missed 😢
Thank u scott for taking us along on another amazing trip I try to get to as many celeb graves I can but don't document and there's some I would never get to see with my own eyes so I can live through you and your journeys want to hit seattle for the cobain stuff your coverage is amazing!!!!
My cousin got a camcorder in 1984 and we would do our wrestling interviews on it before heading to the yard to have our matches lol. I was always Mr. Wonderful I was 12 year old 7th grader by the 8th grade I graduated up to the Hulkster. I always found Hogan in later years to be demeaning towards Paul never getting his last name right.
I cant recall him and i used to watch wrestling all the time thats for doing this for all of us. Keep up the great work.
The Brandon Bull...Legit athlete and tough! RIP Mr. Wonderful!
Your so respectful Scott, I love the way you cover these people!❤❤❤
Thank you for this video
How sad that a fellow who looked like he could have taken on Superman ended up in such poor condition. I do believe that sports like wrestling and boxing does a lot of damage to a person's body. I often wondered why these two sports aren't band. He did seem to live a longer life though then many of the others had. It's just kind of shocking to see the before and after of him. Nice video Scott. RIP Paul ♥💐
Hi Scott, I live in England and always watch your videos.
You are always respectful especially with the delicate matters you discuss.
Keep up the great videos
Thanks so much for the memories
He was a nice guy. I enjoyed growing up and going to his bowling alley there in Fayetteville. RIP Paul.

Orndorff was unreal in the 80's.

Orndorff, was legit bad azz, I watched him beat the crap out of a very large and tough man, in shower shoes (flip flops) name need not mentioned as he passed as well. He was also a kind decent man with a great sense of humor. RIP
Love the tributes you do for those amazing WWF wrestlers from back in the day. Orndorff was a great bad guy. For awhile he was a good guy but it wasn't the same.

Thank you so much for your generosity Christopher!!
Scott On Tape: I attended an event hosted by Children’s Miracle Network in Roanoke, Virginia because Tony Atlas and Paul “Mr. Wonderful” Orndorff was going to be there. I am like you - I remember the massive chest, huge arms and washboard abs. I walked by him several times before I realized it was him - my heart broke because he was a shell of his former self and in so much pain, he was unable to stand!
He was in wrestling when it was wrestling not the stuff now. Rest in Peace Paul 😢
great wrestler he was in great physical condition god bless him amen
