+RebeccaETripp ultros should be renamed trolltros. I could not stand that purple octopus in the lethe river and sabotaging the opera house. still he got what he deserved being stuck as a receptionist in dragon's neck. Gilgamesh FTW!
Is it wrong that I consider FF6 to be one of the penultimate must-play games out there? I mean, I'd love to see what they could do with it nowadays- to think that they crammed all of that into one cartridge back in the 90s... maybe after they give FF7 the remake treatment, they give it to FF6? Now THAT would get them an entire bunch of new fans... Floating Continent- the harp really gives you the idea that you're floating through the air, but then the other instruments and the drums- I want to say kettle drums, but it's been a long while- they come in and add a sense of menace to the music. It fits the area perfectly- a mixture of everything coming together at the worst possible time storywise, setting the stage for Kefka to flip the proverbial table. This tune reminds me of the AtmaWeapon- what a pain that one was! The strategy I had to use to finally beat him- Runic every turn and run him out of as much MP as I could while attacking him with everything I could throw at him. Magitek Lab- Yeah, this is pretty much the second wham moment of the game- all those Magitek machines are the result of living, breathing, sentient creatures being drained of their lives- even Celes's own power was the result of an Esper (more than likely a version of Shiva) being sapped almost to death. About the only bright spot in the entire lab is the fact that you gain so much Magicite after the place that you can teach a good selection of spells to everyone. The saxophone really brings it together- the music matches the feeling of the place- especially as you push deeper into it and find the Empire's dirty little secret, and the rest of the brass and woodwinds give you the feeling that something is very wrong with this place- though your music of the place is really very well put together. Slam Shuffle- This song's a guilty pleasure of mine- it's just lots of fun, and it just brings to mind a rough-and-tumble part of town where not everything is on the up-and-up- kind of like Zozo itself. It just brings to mind an outlaw Western town, or a gypsy encampment if you will. I like how it starts out, but when the main part of the song kicks in, about 5:01, the strings get swallowed up by the big counterpoint the brass instruments put out- enough that they tie it for control of the song. Maybe if you lowered the volume on the brass so the violin or whatever you decided to use didn't have to try and fight with it to share the spotlight? The Veldt- I love the trumpet accent on the song- it really makes it sound like it would be out of something like one of the "Wild Arms" games- bringing to mind more of a brushland or mild desert instead of the savannah-like grassland in the game. I used to not really think of Gau as all that useful- but you just need to learn what rages do what and hope the moves you need come up. Forever Rachel- ...anybody that says games can't move people emotionally needs to sit through this scene, preferably with your take on this song, followed directly by your version of Locke's theme. The music is perfect- you get the poignant, sad vibe from the music, just as the scene goes- Locke gets a couple minutes to say his goodbyes and finally apologize for everything that had happened, and Rachel just tells him to stop beating himself up for her accident- and to finally forgive himself for everything that happened. (If you can watch this scene and keep your eyes dry, you don't have a heart, I think.) Followed up with your version of Locke's theme (which is perfectly slower than the original version), it makes you think of the meeting between Locke and Celes right after Rachel gives her life to restore the Phoenix magicite. Finally free of the emotions that roiled his heart for so many years, Locke is free to finally move on- which is illustrated beautifully by the seamless way you surge from the quiet tones of "Forever Rachel" into the louder, brassier Locke's Theme. I mean, let's face it- at this point, the relationship between Locke and Celes has come full circle- she becomes essentially his reason for going on in the first half of the game, and then the barest hint that he might still be alive is enough to keep Celes going through a world ruled by Kefka. Rachel recognizes that while his heart has moved on, his mind won't allow him to- and gives him both her blessing and what is likely one of the most valuable shards of Magicite in the game- and the only way to learn the second and third-level Life magic- just so she can keep protecting him in her own way. Finally, well... you get the most iconic tune out of the game, Terra's. (I feel that Terra and Celes- and to a smaller point Relm- are proof positive Squeenix can write good female leads. Terra is looking for a place to belong- one she finds in the ruins of Mobliz protecting the children from roving monsters, and Celes is looking for a reason to keep fighting after losing the companions who have come to accept her and given her a place, and she ends up finding one by finally taking the initiative and doing something for herself instead of waiting for someone else to decide something.) You can tell from the second half that this is the version from the opening credits, and that just brings to mind the opening scene of Magitek armor trudging across snow-covered plains, unknowingly bringing Terra ever closer to finally starting to put everything right- only fitting because all of this started with Geshtal discovering Terra after the last clash with the Espers and realizing humans and Espers are not only alike enough that they can interbreed, but that humans are capable of inheriting Esper power, thus resulting in the creation of Kefka and Celes as Magitek Knights. The first half of your arrangement brings to mind the fact that you know the girl in the Magitek armor is something special, and the swells at the end bring an aura of uncertainty- one that just lets you know that this is where it's all going to start happening. The snare drums, unchanging in their beat, bring to mind the steps of the armor, pushing ever onward in the same steady beat. The flute that leads the melody reminds me of Terra in her then current state- chained by the Slave Crown, the flute forced to guide the melody, with... something else, maybe a low woodwind or brass simply in the background, hiding behind the flute, yet still present- much like how the two schmucks escorting Terra hide behind her as they push through Narshe towards the mines... I have to ask, though- no Searching For Friends? I mean, I know there's already like nine thousand different remixes of it out there, but I imagine it has to be somewhere on your list. :) I wouldn't mind hearing you take a crack at it or at Serpent Trench.
Rain Feather What you said about Locke, Celes and Rachel was truly poetic. You have a way with words! I'm really pleased that this medley inspired you to deliberate on so much of this introspection. Let's face it- introspection is half the reason you and I like Final Fantasy- especially the older ones! Let me ask a question. Have you seen my "Final Fantasy: The Psychology and Philosophy" series yet? You may get more out of it than most :) I agree with you that Squeenix wrote some great female characters- especially when it was just Squaresoft, and especially for its time, when many female characters were still dramatically underdeveloped. For super nintendo characters, Terra, Celes, Rosa and Rydia sure invoke a hell of a lot of pathos! Heck, even Krile, Lenna and Farris had some really amazing moments. Actually, I want to say that, in general, Final Fantasy seems to be a series that really makes both female and male players feel included and understood. I will always value that! Searching For Friends, The Day After, The Returners, World of Ruin, Mt. Koltz, Phantom Forest, Relm's Theme, Gau's Theme, Kids Run Through the City Square, Serpent Trench and everything else I ignored in this medley are 100% going into another FF6 medley that will be as long and lovingly, painstakingly put together as this one. I've had that planned for a year, so worry not! :D Additionally, I also have a remix of Searching for Friends and You're Not Alone from FF9 as a short medley on my channel. Thank you so much for all your comments! They're lovely to read while I have my tea. ^_^
Julian Del Gobbo what I find kind of- ironic? Maybe funny- is that FF VII had such a huge marketing campaign on being “The First Game Like a Movie!” Where as I find VI is way more like a movie than VII ever was, actually from how it’s structured and how long it is I would say it’s akin to an epic novel series or maybe a mini series, and I also mean no disrespect for VII since it’s one of my favorites in the series but I kind understand the thought behind the advertising for VII since that game has GRAFIX!
+Adam Bennett ^_^ I'm pleased about how pleased you are, haha! I'm actually planning another FF6 one to do the rest of the songs. ;) Also, a full Dancing Mad suite for Halloween. I hope that pleases you.
I really like this, it just sounds so much like the world of Final Fantasy 6. A baroque, mechanical world, that breaks apart from the troubles which inhabit the minds of the people whom live on it. Full of drama, theatrics, and tragedy. You made it sound like the greatest play of all time, considering that Final Fantasy 6 is styled like a play. Just masterful.
This was, is, and ever shall be my favorite game of all time. While FFIV is always competing for the top place in my heart and sometimes manages to wrest control, FFVI usually has the edge. The music is always why. IV had amazing music, but the leitmotifs that reoccur through the various tracks which remain completely original in content and feeling all of their own make this game's story come to life. You FEEL what each and every character, locale, battle, and event would be to experience through this game's music. As for this track itself: Once again I'm sitting in awe of what you've done. You've preserved the splendor of the original tracks while spicing things up in a way that doesn't overpower them. You are a true artist. Your control of tempo and dynamics are incredible. I especially love what you did between Kefka's theme and the Veldt.. was this inspired by Noppz's Kefka Goes West or was it just by chance? There aren't really two many comparisons I can make to what effect listening to this had on me. I want to say it was like watching a master painter paint, only with my ears rather than my eyes. However, I don't think that quite conveys the experience. I'm a big weather geek and I love thunderstorms. I live close to the Great Lakes so I've been able to catch some beauties over the years. You don't just watch certain storms - you experience them. You hear them, you feel them, you even *smell* them. That's what this is like. I go from hearing and feeling the distant thunder in anticipation to being blown away by the impressive gust front. I'm dazzled by the lightning as the storm approaches. Then comes the core, where I am drenched in the full power of nature. Things calm for a few minutes, but then I'm awestruck by the appearance of a tornado. And while such a terrible phenomenon can bring devastation if you're in the wrong place at the wrong time, I'm lucky enough to witness it from a distance, and the experience is indescribably amazing. Then the sun comes out again, and I'm left with calm, cool, glistening water, and a sky canvased with some of the most breathtakingly beautiful colors and cloud formations. One of the most serene, glorious scenes imaginable - what I'd imagine heaven looks and feels like. That's what I get from this. Understand - you have helped make this happen. Mr. Uematsu, of course, has gifted the world with this beautiful music, but you have brought it to life in such a way that is completely unique and so, so wonderful. I've listened to hundreds if not thousands of renditions of Final Fantasy VI music. This is probably the single most beautiful collection I've ever heard. I find myself thanking you a lot over the last few comments I made, but I'm compelled to do so again. You don't need to hear it from me to know that you're gifted, and I hope that you won't find my long winded gushing out of place or too heavy, but I don't compliment people on this sort of thing very often. Perhaps I should; perhaps I'm far too nit-picky. Perhaps your styles are just too much like my tastes. But that's the thing - I don't get that very often. It's strange and wonderful. Thank you.
+Wiggymaster You'll be glad to know that another FF6 medley like this one containing the rest of the songs will be made. ;) The feel of FF6 is just incomparable. To be honest, the memory of playing that game for the first time haunts me. There was no aesthetic quite like it. I'm so pleased that somebody noticed the Kefka/Veldt mashup! :D I've never heard of Kefka goes West, though. ^_^ I just noticed that the tracks fit together well. The things you said about this medley were beautiful and heart warming. Your weather analogies definitely reached my heart. I'm always making similar analogies, myself, trying in vain to explain the un-explainable... the power of music- the sheer ecstasy of art! Every time I read a comment from someone who is as love with FF6 as I am, it's very satisfying. I know in my heart that the music is mainly the reason it affected us the way it did. Thank you for that.
Out of all if the medley's I've ever heard, I think that this one is the best. You correctly captured the emotional content and transitions with each motif. 👍 Your instrument substitutions were superb. ... I realise that all composers would want to tweak their work here-and-there: but honestly there really isn't much to improve. I hope that a real orchestra one day can play exactly what you've done here. I would pay a lot of money to hear that. Bravo Mrs. Tripp. 👏👏 Please continue your work and thank you for this wonderful compilation. A masterpiece musical for a masterpiece game. 🙇👏
Thanks so much! That actually did happen! ^_^ the orchestra is still putting recordings and footage together, but eventually I will be uploading it on my channel. Here are a couple clips though: th-cam.com/video/BzlUNysEaD4/w-d-xo.html
@@RebeccaETripp Holy crap!!! 😮😍😍😍😍 Rebecca, that's amazing!! I am very interested in this, and will be happy to support you! Count me in! I'm looking forward to the video when it becomes available! 😍😍 😂 You're killing me! I'll just admire you from afar. 😍😅 😳 Wow, Rebecca please keep it up!
Just discovered your stuff today--wow!! So much nostalgia & goodness. I'm a game composer as well & my favorite stuff is from the 16 bit era :*) Thanks for pouring so much time into these projects.
First, I fall in love with this game, its story, its characters and its music... Then, I fall in love with your medley which include rearrangements some of its greatest soundtracks. :O This game is truly magical (not just because there is actual magic in it like all other ff titles hehe) and remastering its wonderful soundtrack must have been quite the work for you.
+Christopher Sweeney Thank you. That means a lot to me! You know, I actually have about 10 other long game medleys like this one, such as Link to the Past and Chrono Trigger. You might be interested in adding them to your playlist. ^_^
Magnificent work, my personal favorite FF game, and this is by and far the best remix of it's sound tracks I've heard. While it's missing a couple of tracks, all of my favorites are here, and I'm more then pleased with it.
Joseph Conner Your display pic checks out. ;) 6 was my first. I wanted to share the way I felt about it very... thoroughly. I'm actually planning another one of these for 6 to get the rest of the tracks I missed. >:3 Thanks for you comment. It was really sweet.
This is so amazing!! FF6 will always be my favorite rpg it really is a masterpiece... And so is this!! :D awesome job one of the best medleys I've ever heard keep it up! 👍
This is genius. It brought me back to the most excellent times of my life as a player. It's hard to improve on Uematsu, but I believe you just did it. Keep it up!
Bravo! This is superb! There are lots of great themes in here (not that anything else would be possible given the source material), and some of the transitions are really clever and fun. I'm looking forward to the next one!
Sorry for commenting almost 3 years late, but I have just recently discovered you (forgive me) and I am slowly taking a listen to all your medleys which are awesome!! Final Fantasy 3/6 was my first Final Fantasy so this brings back a lot memories of playing this on the SNES :)
Thanks for thinking outside the box on this one. I never thought that I wanted an orchestral arrangement of the floating island or machine factory music
Most thorough indeed, all of the pieces meld right into one another without any jarring change and the renditions are simply emotional. I almost teared up with your rendition of Forever Rachel and how it flowed into Locke's Theme which still held a bit of a somber tone to it due to what was playing before (instead of jumping into the adventurous, devil-may-care attitude of the original) was very well played. All in all a beautiful mix, I loved how you mixed Terra's Theme with the opening "To Narshe" theme with that dark undertone that is presently unique for only that scene as all future rendition of Terra's Theme is lacking that foreboding feel past the opening, so that you included that in your Overworld Theme was a wonderful idea.
THIS IS SO GOOD. I CAPS BECAUSE I CANNOT KEEP MY FEELINGS WITHIN THE CONFINES OF SMALLER, LESSER TYPEFACES. Seriously though, this is my childhood :DDDD
This is my first time commenting on one of your videos, so I'll start by saying that I love all your work on Final Fantasy. I read that you are going to make another medley for FF 6 (And one for 12, really excited about that one) and I was wondering if you could include Cyan's Theme in it. I like that piece very much but never found a remix that felt good to me, but after listening to your FF list every day, I'm confident that you could make a great track out of it.
one of the best video game soundtracks ever made and this medley pays it proper homage and respect to it, yeah you left some songs out but the songs you did use where arranged so well not just in the way they sounded but in how they transitioned as well my favorite had to be how you went from phantom train to kefka's theme to the veldt it just sounded so good and your take on the opera and dancing mad were simply masterful I thoroughly enjoyed this and who knows maybe in the future you could make another longer one and incorporate more themes? just a thought...
I've often thought about it! Medleys are increasingly hard to create these days, since I have a lot of other music I need to make with deadlines, but especially because my "standards" have gone up in terms of humanization and whatnot.
@@RebeccaETripp I figured as much but I'm sure you'll get around to it when you have time these medleys were born from inspiration as far as I can tell and if you go back to making them you should do so because you are inspired once again and that takes time especially since you have gotten better and want to live up to your new standards which I totally get
Killer medley as usual, nice use of the artwork too. It gave me chills at all the right moments and more! Also refreshing to listen to the original style again, as I've been listening to Balance and Ruin a lot lately. My favorites this time around were Magitek Factory, Mystery Train, Shadow's Theme and Save Them.
I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this but I'm so in love with all of your FF6 music. Would you ever consider attempting "Esper World" or "Another World of Beasts?" Even just imagining it in your style makes my breath catch and I just know it would be beautiful. Even if the answer is no, that's fine. The herculean amount of work you put into these makes requests impossible and I'm more than happy with what you've created. It's just an old, old favourite.
Okay, I don't where to start. This medley is just...wow. Can't find the right word for it haha. When I first listened to it, I admit that I wasn't expecting a distant worlds quality medley. I soon realised that I was wrong... This medley is just....magical. That's the word for it. Magical, just like the game itself. Thank you very much for sharing this with me. I look forward to your future videos!
RebeccaETripp Yes I know! I'm trying to listen to them all, I have listened to 3, 4, 6 and 9 plus the battle theme and town medleys so far. They are really good! I have been looking for a channel like your channel for a very long time! Thank you for all the videos!
RebeccaETripp Yes I saw them but I haven't listened to them yet. I'll find some time to listen to them, because I really want to listen to all of them, especially the Zelda medleys :D. By the way, is it possible for you to do a Chrono Trigger medley? It's one of my favourite games of all time and has really good music as well. Thanks!
This Terra's Theme... I spend hours just staying in the world map to listen to this song and cry. I just regret that there is not the "Searching for friends" song ;)
+seibpa Thank you very much! If you want to download this (it's free to do so) the version on my Bandcamp is of much higher quality than this, just so you know. The video editor I used (and have since stopped using) destroyed the sound on this one, somewhat.
Absolutely incredible! My favourite game of all time and you did every track justice in this masterpiece! Really well done m'dear! Only angry I hadn't heard this sooner! Oh, and if you get the chance, try finding the FFVI: Balance and Ruin tribute album, it's phenomenal!
It's been years, I don't know if you still read the comments section or even if I've already commented in the past, but holy shit you can't even imagine just how much I love this medley. Terrific work, whoever you are.
I liked it very much! but... but... you did not make the song i like the most. The intro when the magiteks are marching to Narshe; i was expecting it after the second song, at 2:35 :[ [EDIT] Omg!!! you did it at the end!! Bravo!!!!!!
Opera and Boss Kefka were pretty good. Hopefully you will decide to cover the rest of the tracks including the missing town track which never made it to release--it's probably floating around somewhere in TH-cam Land. Nice job, well done!
Ah, yes. I've heard it! I actually am planning on doing another FF6 medley. I also do have quite a few other FF6 covers, including the forest theme, town theme, esper world, Terra's theme, Awakening, Celes's theme, the wedding waltz and all the battle songs (including Grand Finale.) ;) Here's a link, if you're interested: th-cam.com/play/PLhsnNwoLVWWNtPFBGAZo3iuT2wKX_tkH3.html
RebeccaETripp You did Grand Finale!? That's the opera showdown with Ultros, right? I couldn't find it in the playlist for some odd reason... unless it was buried between songs and I missed it. Grand Finale was always one of my favs, it's a shame it only played once in the entire game. Good luck, hope everything turns out great!
Bravo. I've been anticipating this work for a while, as I've arranged to listen to your works from earliest to most recent, and have been slowly working my way through when I get the chance... Thematically and with concern to plot and the use of audio and visual elements to tell a story, FF6 has no equal, even today. (Chrono Trigger and LoZ: Twilight Princess are the only titles that come close, IMHO.) Even if you didn't gush as you did in your post, it was plainly obvious that you feel similarly and were more careful than usual to do justice to it. It seems to me that you consciously began with the more arcane and otherworldly tracks then shifted to more obviously Western classical inspired tunes, soon to skew to the more ornate and baroque melodies, and ending with quasi-romantic triumphant pieces. If so, it seems as though you took us on a journey from the frightening yet exciting sense of the unknown the game so powerfully conveys to the classical proficiency the game almost seems to brag about and finally to the sense of passion and love that ultimately win the day. Am I in the ballpark? Now that you mention Esper World, I wonder why it wasn't included near the beginning as it's hard to think of something more arcane and otherworldly. Perhaps between New Continent and Devil's Lab...? But the track I miss the most is Cyan's theme, which you kind of allude to before Setzer's, as you wisely chose to predominate Setzer's theme with the Ending character medley version, enabling you to somewhat mimic the best and most triumphant (IMHO) musical transition in the OST, that between Setzer's and the Figaro Bros.'s themes in that same character medley. The only other complaint I have is that the crescendos for which you so masterfully built excitement didn't climax with more powerful instruments but then again, I could see why you might choose a softer landing in pursuit of the ethereal quality you sometimes seemed to seek, especially in the beginning. Finally, the instrument tuning mimicry you use at the very start is so ingeniously appropriate: it sets the stage for the beginning and middle thematic elements to which I just referred as well as impart to us the promise that you hold FF6 in the uniquely sacred and esteemed way so many of us do. Almost like a prayer leader, you are a voice for the passions of the legion of us nostalgic geeks, Rebecca, and we are forever grateful. :`-D
I'm having a live orchestra perform my Chrono Trigger medley soon, as it happens! ^_^ If you want to see the performance, there will be a livestream! facebook.com/events/174216413297453/?active_tab=about There's the event in case you're curious! I'm trying to spread the word! :D
+RebeccaETripp Save them and the Celes´s theme at the opera house were really enjoing. Thanks to you I have the perfect soundtrack for writing my thesis! And really a very nice choice for the ending part. I really can't thanks u enought
Square will continue to baffle me FFIV: Two sequels FFVII: A movie and hundreds of spin-offs FFXIII: Two sequels FFXV: An anime and a movie FFVI: Just ports and a super-rare manga
It's called Figaro no Kekkon: Tales from Desert. It's not really a manga but is a 40 page doujinshi with mostly text. It explains the backstory of Edgar, Sabin and Figaro. If you want more info, click this link finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Figaro_no_Kekkon:_Tales_from_Desert It's the wiki page. Don't get too excited as it's super rare but you can find most of the backstory online

Probably the best version of Terra's theme I've heard. And I've heard a lot.

Ultros disliked this. I'll put his theme in the next FF6 medley to appease him.
Edit: Chupon was here, too... and some leafers!
Stupid and sensual Ultros
+RebeccaETripp LOL Ultros, i didn't even remember him.

Is it wrong that I consider FF6 to be one of the penultimate must-play games out there? The Veldt- I love the trumpet accent on the song- it really makes it sound like it would be out of something like one of the "Wild Arms" games- bringing to mind more of a brushland or mild desert instead of the savannah-like grassland in the game. I used to not really think of Gau as all that useful- but you just need to learn what rages do what and hope the moves you need come up.
Forever Rachel- ...anybody that says games can't move people emotionally needs to sit through this scene, preferably with your take on this song, followed directly by your version of Locke's theme. Followed up with your version of Locke's theme (which is perfectly slower than the original version), it makes you think of the meeting between Locke and Celes right after Rachel gives her life to restore the Phoenix magicite.
Terra is looking for a place to belong- one she finds in the ruins of Mobliz protecting the children from roving monsters, and Celes is looking for a reason to keep fighting after losing the companions who have come to accept her and given her a place, and she ends up finding one by finally taking the initiative and doing something for herself instead of waiting for someone else to decide something.)
You can tell from the second half that this is the version from the opening credits, and that just brings to mind the opening scene of Magitek armor trudging across snow-covered plains, unknowingly bringing Terra ever closer to finally starting to put everything right- only fitting because all of this started with Geshtal discovering Terra after the last clash with the Espers and realizing humans and Espers are not only alike enough that they can interbreed, but that humans are capable of inheriting Esper power, thus resulting in the creation of Kefka and Celes as Magitek Knights.
You may get more out of it than most :)
I agree with you that Squeenix wrote some great female characters- especially when it was just Squaresoft, and especially for its time, when many female characters were still dramatically underdeveloped.
Two years after you wrote this I read it and,
This game is a must for anyone who likes well-written, artistic and emotive videogames
I would love a full remake
Means you are only for cute graphics, shame on you, a game is not only that, and this game is the best FF game out there.
Are you kidding me?! Probably my favorite soundtrack ever re-done by RebeccaETripp?!! It's Christmas right now.
+Adam Bennett ^_^ I'm pleased about how pleased you are, haha! I'm actually planning another FF6 one to do the rest of the songs. ;) Also, a full Dancing Mad suite for Halloween. I hope that pleases you.
A little later than expected but I did end up making that full Dancing Mad suite. It'll be published on Halloween. :)
And here I am again listening to this wonderful medley.
Paul Farrer Thanks. ^_^ Welcome back! There will be another FF6 medley of this length. The Phantom Forest will also be back for that one.
As for this track itself:
Once again I'm sitting in awe of what you've done.
Thank you.
+Wiggymaster You'll be glad to know that another FF6 medley like this one containing the rest of the songs will be made. ;)
The feel of FF6 is just incomparable.
😂 You're killing me! I'll just admire you from afar. 😍😅 😳 Wow, Rebecca please keep it up!
Just discovered your stuff today--wow!! So much nostalgia & goodness. I'm a game composer as well & my favorite stuff is from the 16 bit era :*)
Thanks for pouring so much time into these projects.
+Judah Banke You're welcome, and thank you, too!
Why must every single one of your videos tug at my nostalgia heart strings
It is your fate.
the kefka laugh was really effective. perhaps my favorite video game villain of all time.
+Jeffrey Krieger A reasonable choice. ^^ Thanks.
Love how you got that "opera house" echo effect in this. Wonderful
Medleys are your best pieces, you did a great work on that FF VI, epic and beautiful :)
Thank you very much! ^^
First, I fall in love with this game, its story, its characters and its music...
Then, I fall in love with your medley which include rearrangements some of its greatest soundtracks. :O
This game is truly magical (not just because there is actual magic in it like all other ff titles hehe) and remastering its wonderful soundtrack must have been quite the work for you.
Thank you!
You are an absolute genius! Thanks for posting this. I have found my study music for all of med school.
+Christopher Sweeney Thank you. That means a lot to me! You know, I actually have about 10 other long game medleys like this one, such as Link to the Past and Chrono Trigger. You might be interested in adding them to your playlist. ^_^
+RebeccaETripp I'll definitely be adding A Link to the Past! Thanks again for making these.
No problem, it really was a great remix. FFVI was not my first, that goes to IX, but VI has been my favorite from the day I beat it.
Haha, IX is my favorite. Nice symmetry.
This is so amazing!! FF6 will always be my favorite rpg it really is a masterpiece... And so is this!! :D awesome job one of the best medleys I've ever heard keep it up! 👍
jake smith Thank you so much, Jake! ^_^
This is genius. It brought me back to the most excellent times of my life as a player. It's hard to improve on Uematsu, but I believe you just did it. Keep it up!
Whoah! I'm honored!! Thanks! ^^
Bravo! This is superb! There are lots of great themes in here (not that anything else would be possible given the source material), and some of the transitions are really clever and fun.
I'm looking forward to the next one!
StuffedVulture >:'D
My favourite video game of all time. Thank you for sharing this with me via DA. Fantastic work!
I'm glad you enjoyed it. :) I figured you'd appreciate it.
Sorry for commenting almost 3 years late, but I have just recently discovered you (forgive me) and I am slowly taking a listen to all your medleys which are awesome!! Final Fantasy 3/6 was my first Final Fantasy so this brings back a lot memories of playing this on the SNES :)
I'm so glad you're enjoying them! ^_^
Loving all the medleys I have seen so far. Production and quality of the music are awesome. Keep it up and I'll see ya in the next medley :)
Just finished listening to the whole thing, some tracks were epic. Really liked it.
I aim to please. ^_^
Thanks for thinking outside the box on this one. I never thought that I wanted an orchestral arrangement of the floating island or machine factory music
I'm glad you enjoyed this! :D
Thank you! I'm glad you appreciated that stuff! I put a lot of thought into those particular things. ^_^
Once again, Rebecca proves that her ambition is only surpassed by her musical talent.
^_^ Thank you so much.
This is brilliant and deliciously nostalgic! You picked all the favourites.
Thank you so much, Hayley!
THIS IS SO GOOD. I CAPS BECAUSE I CANNOT KEEP MY FEELINGS WITHIN THE CONFINES OF SMALLER, LESSER TYPEFACES.
Seriously though, this is my childhood :DDDD
+Onit Miths Thank you. :) I really appreciate your feedback, as well as your passion, hehe!
^_^ Thank you! And, yes, Cyan's Theme is going to be in it. I'm also planning a standalone arrangement of his theme.
This is my favorite thing you've done, and I like all the things you've done, lol.
Thank you.
Really a great work!
Thank you, Shinya!
one of the best video game soundtracks ever made and this medley pays it proper homage and respect to it, yeah you left some songs out but the songs you did use where arranged so well not just in the way they sounded but in how they transitioned as well my favorite had to be how you went from phantom train to kefka's theme to the veldt it just sounded so good and your take on the opera and dancing mad were simply masterful I thoroughly enjoyed this and who knows maybe in the future you could make another longer one and incorporate more themes? just a thought...
I've often thought about it! Medleys are increasingly hard to create these days, since I have a lot of other music I need to make with deadlines, but especially because my "standards" have gone up in terms of humanization and whatnot.
@@RebeccaETripp I figured as much but I'm sure you'll get around to it when you have time these medleys were born from inspiration as far as I can tell and if you go back to making them you should do so because you are inspired once again and that takes time especially since you have gotten better and want to live up to your new standards which I totally get
Piece of Art. Rebecca you're amazing!
+Dragoon Highwind
starting from 00:00 you gave me goosebumps... @22:03 I still have goosebumps. Great work! Delicious morsel.
+renderlogic ^_^ I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'll be doing a Secret of Mana one like this.
My goodness ... this is a masterpiece! Bravo! Thank you!
:D Thanks a lot!
The first couple of seconds sound like the PS3 start up sound
I was going to post the exact same thing.
Yeah. Because that's the sound of an orchestra warming up.
This doesn't have nearly as many views as it should, beautiful work.
Thank you. ^_^
Those are all great choices. :3
Now you got a fan!!
This is my favorite Final Fantasy! =D
Great job!!!
Well done. Beautifully made remix, especially Forever Rachel. Full of emotions.
Thank you!
This was *really* well done. A truly epic undertaking.
Thank you so much! It's an old one, so the flaws are very apparent to me. ^_^ I'm glad people still enjoy this!
Damn, these transitions are pretty awesome
Thanks! I'm planning another FF6 one to get the rest of the songs. :3
Wow. This is a wonderful medley.
Thank you so much!
Thanks for sharing this! How wonderfulthis game was!
Yeah. ^_^ It was an important part of my childhood!
Basinator Thank you. I really appreciate this comment.
RebeccaETripp
Yes I know! I'm trying to listen to them all, I have listened to 3, 4, 6 and 9 plus the battle theme and town medleys so far. They are really good! I have been looking for a channel like your channel for a very long time! Thank you for all the videos!
^_^ You're welcome. Thank YOU! Did you find the FF forest medley? Or the Zelda medleys?
RebeccaETripp
Yes I saw them but I haven't listened to them yet. I'll find some time to listen to them, because I really want to listen to all of them, especially the Zelda medleys :D. By the way, is it possible for you to do a Chrono Trigger medley? It's one of my favourite games of all time and has really good music as well. Thanks!
Chrono Trigger medley in already in the works. >:3 Chrono Cross, Secret of Mana and Skyrim are planned also.
This Terra's Theme... I spend hours just staying in the world map to listen to this song and cry. I just regret that there is not the "Searching for friends" song ;)
There will be in the next FF6 medley. :) And thanks!
That's a good news ! :)
Mozart: I wrote the Magic Flute, it's sure to be a crowd pleaser!
Nobuo: hold my beer
GREAT work. Extra props for the Kefka laugh.
Thank you. ^_^
OH MY GODS!!! is wonderfull
+david morin Thanks, David!
Simply beautiful!
+Elskidor Gwanallia Thank you!
Really good, this makes for a good playlist while playing ff14
Lloydy Dakin :D I'm glad!
very clever transitions. loved it!
+seibpa Thank you very much! If you want to download this (it's free to do so) the version on my Bandcamp is of much higher quality than this, just so you know. The video editor I used (and have since stopped using) destroyed the sound on this one, somewhat.
I like how you added in a cough from the audience at the beginning.
Thanks. :)
Absolutely incredible! My favourite game of all time and you did every track justice in this masterpiece! Really well done m'dear! Only angry I hadn't heard this sooner! Oh, and if you get the chance, try finding the FFVI: Balance and Ruin tribute album, it's phenomenal!
Paul Farrer I've heard that whole album already. :) Thanks!
Your work is amazing!
OrangesAreOutrageous :D Thanks!
It's perfect yet again
Thank you. ^_^
Daaamn this is the beast that I heard in my entire life o.O
+Seventh Path :O Thank you.
This is so good, my word
+koopanique Thank you. :')
Perfect, just when I was feeling nostalgic :-)
kobodyguard mastered a new dance: RebeccaETripp Rondo..... KUPO!!!!
It's been years, I don't know if you still read the comments section or even if I've already commented in the past, but holy shit you can't even imagine just how much I love this medley. Terrific work, whoever you are.
Thank you so much! :)
This is just superb!
Blackmore I'm really glad you like it. ^_^
This is amazing! Thanks!
My Favorite Final Fantasy :)
Holycrapwhattheheck! This is awesome! Thumbs up.
It's okay! Calm down. ^_^'
Holy crap, this is beautiful! Congratz!
Thank you!
RebeccaETripp No, thank YOU! And please keep it up =D
SiksGameRoom Oh, I will! ;)
Edit: Most of the FF medleys are done now.
RebeccaETripp Well, I'm subscribing right now xD
I loved the slam shuffle. PSH, Zozo. Bunch'o liars!
This video needs more views.
:3
This is excellent.
Thanks! :D
awesome work
+elysium76 Thanks for the feedback. ^_^v
Again, such masterpiece made into this, I hope if they remake ffvi it will sound like this or even better
FF6 remake would be amazing. Personally, I'm really wanting a FF5 one.
RebeccaETripp when i say even better, i'm thinking again if that is even possible.
Thanks. :3
I'm actually planning on eventually doing a second FF6 medley with the rest of the songs.
RebeccaETripp id love something with the battle theme in it
Hello, I would just like to say this. Fuck yeah.
This is very good!
+Darian Agnew Thank you, Darian!
amazing work
Thank you! ^o^
WTF FF6 TOO!!! HOLY SHIT YOU ARE A GOD
Thank you so much! ^^
I liked it very much! but... but... you did not make the song i like the most. The intro when the magiteks are marching to Narshe; i was expecting it after the second song, at 2:35
:[
[EDIT]
Omg!!! you did it at the end!! Bravo!!!!!!
+Rudah Reis Hehe! I was about to say... "Keep listening!"
Here: th-cam.com/video/6tc4Lx3Iboc/w-d-xo.html#t=756
RebeccaETripp Yup that'd be the one, much appreciated!
You're right. I do feel similarly.
I'm having a live orchestra perform my Chrono Trigger medley soon, as it happens! ^_^ If you want to see the performance, there will be a livestream! facebook.com/events/174216413297453/?active_tab=about There's the event in case you're curious! I'm trying to spread the word! :D
WAAAIT! This medley isn't a done deal yet!
You forgot the Spinach Rag and Umaro's Theme ;-D
It can't be helped. Another FF6 medley is planned and those songs are actually in it, FYI! Coincidentally, it's most likely to start on Spinach Rag.
Hee hee. Just thought I'd have a little fun. I figured you'd get around to it sooner or later. Keep up the good work, Impressario!
My favourite final fantasy
you're great
^_^ Thank you.
Do you know the "Balance and Ruin" remix by OC?
*goes to check it out*
Good luck it's like the whole soundtrack + extra xD
Some remixes are veeeeery good, but most of them are sometimes even boring...tto techno for FF...
AWESOME!
thanks u very much for this!
+David Henriquez It was my pleasure! :D
+RebeccaETripp Save them and the Celes´s theme at the opera house were really enjoing. Thanks to you I have the perfect soundtrack for writing my thesis!
And really a very nice choice for the ending part. I really can't thanks u enought

Plus and saved on my loved favorites

Sounds great :)
Thanks! :D
Love ur music
U made this yourself? It sounds so good! I love it!
Thanks! And yes, I did.
Wow thank your for such a beautiful melody, this music relaxes me and helps me study. Will for sure recommend your channel to my friends!
Love it!!!!!
+Karla Villalobos Thanks! :D
Loved it, but did i miss Cyan's theme? It's my favorite next to the World of Ruin overworld theme
I have another version of that on my channel!
This is nice.
Thank you!
I think Jared Leto would make a better Kefka than he does a Joker
Great Job! FFVI is my fav too.. ;)
Jonatan Vianna Thanks!
good melody ffVI
Thanks!
Wuah wuah wuahahahah. Kefkas laugh gets me every time.
Square will continue to baffle me

Sweet!!!
I hope you're still making covers because it's a tragedy you haven't done the ending ensemble of everyone's theme songs.
