Completely disagree. This is definitely a sweet spot truck in the middle of the FX4 and raptor. Far much more capability off-road than the lariat. Same transfer case is the raptor, torsion like the raptor, more capable off-road runningboards, much more Ground clearance in the front especially with the skid plate, Sweet dual exhaust. Plenty of TH-cam videos showing how it’s far more capable off-road than the FX4. Just picked up a 401 Tremor for the same price that I could’ve got a regular lariat at. I don’t mind spending $500 to get it leveled because I would do that if I bought a regular F150 anyways.
@@ShersGarage you forgot to mention the raptor transfer case that adds 4 auto for high speed. The funky stance also makes it a better off roader. I also got the bed utility group, the tow tech package, the 2000 watt pro power on board and the interior work station..came out to 69k.
Yea, I agree with you. To me the Tremor is the ideal truck on the market today and relative to a fully loaded Lariat a complete bargain given it is way more capable and I prefer the look as well. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I disagree with this review more than any other I’ve ever seen. I guest that why he only has 13 likes.
Lmao. This is probably the worst take I’ve ever seen on a truck video. Did you not do any research before filming? You didn’t mention, transfer case, exhaust, suspension, bash plates etc. Very misleading and uninformed review, this is the Ford competitor to the Ram Rebel, GMC AT4 etc. Please do research and shoot a new video.
Rear is lifted a bit higher due to its revised and superior off road shocks vs the fx4, once you load up the payload, it will squat and level pretty much the same as an fx4 and the shocks will position to that "sweet spot" for ultimate payload. Lets not forget that this is a "do it all" type of truck but a step above an FX4
@@ShersGarage yes, tremor is set up to handle more payload than chevy and at4 but compete or beat them when it comes to offroad, that is why is higher than those two
"Raptor for that?" You haven't been paying attention to pricing. Raptors are commanding a premium of at least $20K at the dealer. This model is good for many including myself. Ordered one Friday and we'll see when I ever get it.
In my area, Raptors are about $8-10k premium but regardless you are absolutely right and one well outfitted has an MSRP over $80k. Plus I like the way Raptors look, but they drive like shit on the roads, have terrible towing stats, trerrible turning radius, are too wide to go many places. Unless your really a desert dune runner, of which is less than 1% of Raptor owners are, you bought it for show, not go.
If you were to put everything on a Tremor onto a regular F150 (Wheels, tires, lift, dual exhaust, torsen, etc) it would run you 10k or more. The Tremor is actually a very good buy IF sold at MSRP. The mid pack is really where its at.
I hope with all the comments you have recalibrated your strategy for growing your channel. This was a poor review. Look at other TH-cam channels that do detailed reviews and learn. It’ll take you a long way. About the Tremor; it is worth every penny. I can’t complain about mine.
I would recommend that you do your own research before doing reviews like this. The guys who know what the tremor is could tell that you didn't. Still, I appreciate the video, as I like to be able to check the truck out.
You forgot to add the upgraded suspension, optional torsen diff, raptor transfer case, pay load, 36 gal tank, and can go on and on just about the best best of both worlds scenario for people that want off road capability and looks but still wanna use their truck as a truck. Interiors pretty damn nice to and dont feel like getting a fully optioned out Raptor for over 85k not to mention dealer mark up.
Torsen diff is in the comments. From what I can tell there is "Raptor" transfercase. Just a good old torque on demand transfer case with 4A on a high package 402A.
I would be embarrassed to leave this up man. LMAO. This truck would hand your truck it's ass all day. Not even including the fact of the tech and interior far superior. You just don't know what your talking about. It's just so bad man. 👎 👎. 33 inch tires are tiny get 35s . 2 inch difference wtfe . This isn't a channel or a review. Just some pompas/ jealous blow hard hating on a loaded amazing truck. It's just so cringe and contradictory.
Some of the things a Tremor has that an FX4 doesn't. $500 optional Torsen Front Differential, all kinds of Drive and Crawl Modes like the new Broncos have, Trail Turn Assist, (allowing the truck to make real tight turns in the dirt), Off-road cruise control, 6 Aux switches.
The "squat" is a pretty standard rake. It's primarily for towing and makes more of a difference with offroad trucks as the suspension is softer and when towing pulls the rear of the truck down. The truck makes sense because it is a much more off road capable truck than an fx4 package, better suspension with more travel, available front torsion, etc. For people that don't need a full on desert runner like the raptor, this truck is easier to live with being narrower with better payload and towing and it can be optioned with blue cruise which the raptor can't. Also, finding a raptor at msrp is next to impossible.
I agree. I just bought this hi end tremor 2 days ago. I upgraded it from a earlier lariat. Tremor is a Amazing truck. I could have bought a raptor but why? It's towing and payload are significantly inferior to the tremor. Baja mode no one uses that crap and if you do your an idiot to do that in a luxury truck. Plus Tremor is actually faster not that matters sense were talking trucks not sports cars. Kinda of a poor review in my opinion.
@@randallthompson6910 I don't think there is something that Tremor could do so much better to justify it's cost at high package. Raptor style running boards, bumpers, hood and and a grill for $3000? They put a block in the back to raise it. There is no real suspension upgrade. No Fox shocks or Bilstein shocks. I didn't see much of a lift upfront.
The Tremor actually has its own shocks, knuckles, and control arms. It also has the transfer case from the Raptor and all the skid plates. Throw in all the off-road modes like trail control and trail turn assist. No other f150 has these. Yes, 4 inches if rake is a bit much but nothing a 2.5" levelling kit can't fix. Same with tires, anyone who will actually off-road this will switch those tires out immediately. Can't wait to get mine!
@@Sean-oq3ox I didn't look under it to confirm the knuckle and control arm setup. Transfer case from the Raptor seems to just indicate 4A cable transfer case only on 402A package. Fords literature says "tuned shocks and springs." That's like saying same slightly modified of the same stuff.
Doesn’t make sense for some, for others it does. It just depends on what you look for in a truck…best part of it all is that ford offers so many flavors when it comes to trucks and I wish more car manufacturers would follow their example. Drive what you like, just remember that you’ll probably be switching to something new within the next 5 years anyway, seems more and more people are doing that these days.
I agree the rake is ridiculous. That being said. For 3k I get a partial lift, better running boards, nicer interior, dual exhaust, nicer wheels and tires, better suspension, exterior accents, plus off road tech when comparing my 401A (Mid Tremor) to an XLT 302A High package. Well worth it. And as far as the rake goes. I'd level any truck so 2.5 inch spacers easily solves this. The only sacrifice for all this is the XLT has a power rear window.
This dude has no idea what hes talking about. “You can buy a nice raptor for 72k” ya ok lol. No way your getting a new Raptor for that price. Especially with dealer markups. Ive seen used Gen 2’s with 40k miles on them going for 66k. Dont know what doesnt make sense about this truck. It sits below the Raptor, is better off road and basically has the same power train. 50 less hp and 10 less pounds of tourqe and is better at towing. I love how this dude says this truck is a rip off lol what are you on about brooo
I’m not going to say this to hound on you, but you’re honestly super misinformed man. You’re complaining about things that simply don’t make sense. For one the reason the back has significantly more lift is the fact that on top of high off road capabilities this truck is also meant to work/tow. This truck is intended to be a median between the FX4 and Raptor. The Raptor can’t tow for shit, has a small payload, and isn’t a good daily driver. This is meant to be a settled down raptor for a daily.
Most people don't understand why the Tremor is appealing. It's ok, I don't get why people who never off-road lift their fault driver, pavement process, trucks 6" lol. The tremor competes directly with the rebel/trail boss - priced competitively. You're getting 'less' with the raptor at 72k in terms of features within the vehicle (the added tech like assist/360/etc, that makes it 80+) The little pieces add up and most want the off road look that is still capable for towing and 'decent' mpg. It's a huge jump from the FX4, and using some raptor pieces in the tremor is a home run for Ford on it. The rake is ugly as heck, but a quick easy fix if you're not towing all the time. Annoying that you need a 'fix' for a 60-70k truck but simple enough. Biggest complaints are the 4a (raptor transfer case) isn't an add on for 401a package. The rating on the general grabbers, it was a play for MPG but better options exist. Last, they should have done 35 not 33 lol
I agree with you. What I don't agree with Fords pricing. You could probably build an AT4 with 6.2 V8 for less money. That's why Ford made the Tremor. I just think that Ford did enough.
@@ShersGarage pricing as a whole is wild and out of control. It's nice that it's not just a trim but Ford's big f up right now is they increased the price of the truck and add ons, removed a bunch of "chip" related features. They don't make mention anywhere so you have folks ordering trucks and expecting the digital temp display on the dials/ various internal lighting options .. all gone 🤦🏻♂️
@@StayQuok even Lincolns. Temp displays are gone. Instead of nice Lincoln key now you get a cheapo looking Ford key. Which is absurd on a $80k Lincoln SUV.
@@ShersGarage with the options and luxury, the only GMC that would closest compare to a fully loaded Tremor would be the ATX4. I’ll agree the AT4X is a monster but even those start at $76k. For $10k less, I’ll take the Tremor.
If you want to pay about $30k more, the Raptor might be the way to go. You can buy a Tremor at MSRP. Try doing that with a Raptor. The trucks this competes with are Rebel, TRD Pro,AT4 and Tremor is better in most ways over the others according to 90% of reviews. To the person that still needs a truck that is able to work, has attitude and doesn't have an unlimited budget, the Tremor makes perfect sense.I see you haven't done many reviews. More research will tell you that many commenters here are correct.
You're focusing on appearance differences and ignoring all the off-road under pinning that sets this truck apart. It's like saying the Raptor is not worth it because all it gives you is 3 lights in the grill. Apparently for someone like you that doesn't understand that having a 4x4 truck is not the only thing you need to make a truck perform better off-road, the Tremor would not be worth it. But for someone that can use the off-road capabilities, the Tremor is a great truck. Also, I see that in comments below your stating that this has only a slightly tuned suspension, basically equating it to the FX4. The suspension on this is so much better than what's in a FX4. I would suggest understanding the subject matter better before giving negative reviews.
It is not. There is nothing special about the suspension on a Tremor. Even Ford says that "retuned suspension." Parts pricing reflect that as well. Functional parts are transfercase, front diff if you optioned the limited slip. 3.73 rear diff normally Ford won't let you to get it. Also front skid plate. There are no special shocks, suspension parts, adaptive suspension or anything like that.
@@ShersGarage you are mistaken, the front knuckle's are specific to the tremor and 1" taller, as are the rear springs, it's not just a taller block in the rear but a combination of specially arched spring's and taller block
Idk dude you can't buy a raptor for 75k if you can please show me I just placed an order for my 22 raptor. The tremor is its own style to compete with the ram rebel and the Chevy trail boss
That's the way they did it in the 60's and 70's. Nobody leveled their ride back then. Everyone put traction bars or air shocks, coil overs or some other lift kit to kick the rear end up.
Dude, you really need to due a little research before you film yourself and throw this crap onto YT. Most people that know trucks consider the Tremor to be the ideal and in many cases the sweat spot for trucks.
Another thing you’re missing is that a Tremor can be purchased under MSRP (build one using ford Xplan or buy from granger ford in Iowa, they sell for 3% below invoice, that’s like $7-8k off of MSRP, bringing a ~$70k Tremor down to ~63k for a highly optioned 402a package). Nowhere in America are you getting a raptor at $10k below MSRP, in fact it’s miracle to find one at MSRP, most go for $10K above MSRP. Similarly optioned, there is a 20k+ difference between a raptor and a tremor right now. Dealers are realizing how popular the tremor is now and charging $5k over MSRP if you try to buy one off the lot. Totally agree on the rake though, everyone will be leveling these. I have one on order (below MSRP as described above) and the first thing I will do is level this thing.
True. Considering that Tremor is a semi special vehicle unlike the Raptor. I used to sell the Raptors at MSRP. I still would if I could get an allocation for one. X-Plan would be about $5,000 below MSRP. Ford employees would get about $7,000 off the MSRP.
@@ShersGarage I wish i had bought a raptor 3 years ago, but i didn't need a car then 🤷♂ given inflation, chip shortages, other material shortages, crazy amounts of pent-up demand due to people delaying buying new cars i'm not sure when or if raptors will ever be seen at MSRP again. with CAFE standards constantly going up the Raptor's days are numbered anyway. I also cross shopped the F250 Tremor, thing is though the redesign on the new F150 is a homerun. The current F250 feels 10 years older in comparison.
@@jamiem1711 good point. That's a good chunk of change!
I still stand by my opinion. Silverado ZR2 is a better option. That's how Tremor should have been. Not a parts bin special.
@@murdered1415 sure. Still not enough effort from Ford for that much money.
I just test drove one of them. Definitely beautiful truck overall except +$4950 market Adjustment Price tag.
This guy a salesman? Don’t believe he even read the window sticker… I got a 402a tremor for 62k
It was $72k.
Idk dude you can't buy a raptor for 75k if you can please show me I just placed an order for my 22 raptor. The tremor is its own style to compete with the ram rebel and the Chevy trail boss
MSRP starts at $67k. If you find a dealer that is willing to not mark it up like crazy.
Yea yea we all know that you cannot find one at that price. By the way this review doesn't make sense.
That's the way they did it in the 60's and 70's. Nobody leveled their ride back then. Everyone put traction bars or air shocks, coil overs or some other lift kit to kick the rear end up.
Now it is making a comeback. More prevalent than ever.
This guy obviously didn’t do much research before making a video.
Just looking for that TH-cam views
Dude, you really need to due a little research before you film yourself and throw this crap onto YT. Most people that know trucks consider the Tremor to be the ideal and in many cases the sweat spot for trucks.
Terrible biased review, much more research required on your behalf.
I love all the new tech, onboard power, etc that Ford is doing. I read the F250 will be redesigned in a couple years so maybe in 3 years i will trade in my F150 tremor for the redesigned F250 tremor.
@@Kaiser333333 next gen model is coming out next year, most likely. F-150s interior is on the next level. F-250 is old, you can feel it. Even though you can get Sync 4.
Old Raptors are going for crazy money. I would wait if you're wanting a new Super Duty.
@@ShersGarage Yea i don't want the first one off the line anyway, will wait till the next gen Super Duty has been out for a couple years before considering, thanks for the info!
@@Kaiser333333 sure thing. I wouldn't worry about that too much.
You are not a truck person.
Tremor is not a package is a trim and there’s not raptor well equipped for 72k anywhere , been realistic any raptor with decent equipment MSRP for 82k and up, tremor makes sense to me your video makes no sense to me or why people buy sport cars for over 100k when they can buy an F250 for less 🤷🏻♂️ there’s many options in the market for car buyers and you can have your own opinion but that’s all just your opinion and if you know where I can find the 2021 or 2022 raptor with similar equipment like the 402a tremor for 72k send me the link and that price is not available by ordering from ford I try already 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Still not worth the money. Cosmetic things aside, Ford didn't add enough functional equipment. Everyone has an opinion. And that's mine.
@@ShersGarage bro..... Just throw in the towel. This whole feed is you getting roasted for not knowing what your talking about. It's okay to be wrong. Just own it, because if this is a new gig as you call it your going about it all wrong. Reviews are to be informative and non biased. You will never gain a audience like this my friend.
Still not worth the money is a poor argument. People buying these trucks are not worried about money.
You need a new gig!!!
This is a new gig 😅
Just curious where you’re finding a nicely equipped Raptor for $72k. Let me know and I’ll buy 2 of them. 🙄
That was before price increases.
Sounds like you’re mad you can’t afford one?
Bro… you have no idea what you’re talking bout. Respectfully. I watched the whole video before I wrote this too.
Side note… the squat is bad but it’s for towing as the leaf springs are tuned for “flex/off-roaring”.
There is too much squat, not enough special touches. With Chevy ZR2 out, this is poor attempt by Ford to create an off-road truck that's not a Raptor.
I have to politely disagree with most of what you said. Reviews have showed this truck has great off road performance compared to the standard fx4 equipt trucks. It is slotted in between the raptor and the rest of the trucks and you cannot get a nice raptor for this price. It also has wider tracs than the standard trucks.
You didn’t even drive it…
How are you going to review it and compare it to other trims/packages without actually towing, off roading, daily driving it…
I drove one for about 4 months. There is not a huge difference between that and FX4 truck.
Tremor........ I don't understand..... orange. You should check the pricing on raptors.
I thought the back being higher was for towing purposes...trucks are designed for work.
Yes. Rake is for towing. I just don't like that, too much rake.
Direct competition with a Chevy Trailboss. No other reason. Cool looking truck tho.
Agree with that. Also the AT4.
Terrible review, you clearly do not know what you're talking about. The Tremor is an awesome truck for the price point. You couldn't touch a Raptor for anywhere near the cost of the Tremor.
At the time when this came out before Ford increased the price, you could get a Raptor for a few grand more.
