To many regulations the DNR has to much power they took the enjoyment out of hunting

You all seem to forget the director of the DNR was appointed by former governor granholm and came from Texas These during the regulations are not half the problem they're spending are hung in fishing money on bicycle trails on city parks that money's not supposed to be spent for anything, but more recreation land for hunters and fishermen, not for the average everyday. Joe, that doesn't do a d*** thing to collect that money. Buy a fishing license they want to build bicycle trails. Have them start putting license plates on bicycles? Don't take our hunting and fishing dollars to build bicycle.Trails, that's the director she comes from Texas. She's a piece of work

People lobbied for years to establish a traditional muzzle loading season.Same way we destroyed the sport of archery. Short sighted management policies to sell tags.

@@handlesaredumb1that doesn’t make any sense. Hunting buck is better because we need the doe to reproduce. Higher population of game is good: it’s bad enough that the bison have been wiped out

@exiledhebrew1994 You need both to reproduce. Not hunting doe hurts the buck and deer population as a whole. You may want to look at some conservation data.

The Antlerless access permit has been around for a couple years for 352 and 351. This year they dropped the 351 and reduced 352 from 1000 to 500 permits.
I almost didn't buy a license this year.
If would be nice if the DNR would get the Hunting Digest posted by July 1 each year.

When antler point restrictions first came out 20 some years ago I was all in but it didn't take long to realize that we were doing more harm than good, all of us that love deer hunting go to our stands with visions of taking a massive buck but antler point restrictions don't allow for the age class of buck we all dream of, people are taking 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 year old bucks with 3 on one side and leaving spikes to do the breading. If we adopt a one buck any buck mentality hunters will be forced to make a decision if he's hunting for antlers he'll have to decide if that young buck is big enough and those that just want meat can fill their tag and we'll have bucks make it to 3 1/2 or more years of age, 4 1/2 to 5 1/2 is what dreams are made of not 2 1/2 year old six pointers.
