Thank you for this video. I was tired of the normally loud and obnoxious videos from other channels telling us how great the vehicle is without actually testing anything. Your video gave me everything I needed to know from an actual driver and so far it doesn't sound like the issues are too bad with this Kia. I had the same experience with the HVAC problem with a Hyundai Kona when it first came out. I'll definitely keep this on the list against the Ford Mach-E.

I have a six week old EV6 with the No Heat/AC or Fan problem. Dealer diagnosed a Blower assembly and while waiting for that to be delivered the HVAC system magically began working. Oy Vey!! I'm an early adopter on tech and know that there are risks in adopting it. This car is a good example. Perhaps anyone considering the EV6 should wait for model year 2 or 3 before taking the plunge. I love so much about this car it's a shame many of us have suffered the teething problems that should have been sorted out before US deliveries began.

I'm genuinely amazed you were able to find a dealer willing to work on your car, since it was purchased somewhere else. Yes, they will accept your car for warranty work, but don't be surprised if they "work you in" around the servicing of vehicles purchased at the dealership. They do find ways to be vindictive

I'm in the UK and I had two issues - the internal alarm sensor randomly being activated and the remote heating/cooling not working (except it turns on the fans). Both have been resolved now and the car is performing fantastically. New models have teething issues but Kia has dealt with them quickly and successfully.

Please make a video with step by step instructions for putting a 2023 Kia EV6 in ride along carwash mode. I've watched several videos, all different. None of them make the process easy. My fear is thinking I have all the settings correctly made only to discover that the car and/or the mechanical pully might be damaged during the wash. Your videos are exceptionally good. Thank you!

  • @johndoyle4723

Thanks, like you I have had one problem, but I love the car, and an early adopter expects to have some issues.
My problem was the car at some point decided not to DC charge from the rapid chargers, Kia UK took 6 weeks and multiple visits to the dealers to fix.
Eventually they suggested it may be the app, and to delete it from the car and re-connect, this was a bit like "turn it off and back on again", I did this and it worked. You do lose all your settings, but 15 mins and you can put it all back.
I think I had almost the first delivery in the UK.

I got my EV6 First Edition February and just got a chance to do some real highway driving. While driving on I 75 to Macon, GA I had two problems. The first one is the lain keep. It almost put in the medium a couple times so I keep bout hands on the wheel, will see if it needs to be readjusted when I take it in for the factory recall on June 21st. Two, was finding a charging station close to the highway. Most of the time they were anywhere from 5 to 20 miles from I 75. A 12 hour drive in my 2014 KIA Optima SLX Turbo or my wife's 2020 Soul X Line Turbo, took me 24 hours in the EV6 First Edition. Now if I have to go anywhere that's more than 190 miles roundtrip it's in the Optima or the Soul. But for my every day driving around Detroit and the Detroit area it's the EV6, look for reasons to drive the car. When I park it in the driveway I sit in it trying think of another reason to pull out the driveway and drive some more. I LOVE MY EV6.

    Buyer Beware
We bought the EV6 Wind RWD on April 2, 2022at Ball KIA San Diego. We love the way it looks, the way it drives, the modes and the room. We purchased it specifically because of the California CAV Carpool status and the 310 mile range. When I commuted to my work destination 134 miles away, the next day, on a 100% full charge; I had 13% battery and only 24 miles to go after I arrived to my final destination. I didn't drive extreme or in a hilly areas. Nothing different than the terrain and freeway speeds of Orange County where the KIA Corporate HDQ are located. I didn't have the heater or ac on anything more than normal. Needless to say I was peeved. I had to recharge in Compton and I'm glad my wife didn't have to do this. So here I am 3 weeks later, a new car that will not charge more than 215 est miles. The Mi/kwh is 2.3-3.4.
KIA wont help, they keep giving me the runaround and telling me that the 310mile per charge is only an estimate. Even though the brochure says 310* plus/minus 10... KIA headquarters says 167 -310 est range.
KIA wont help us, we have to do all of this investigation on our own, The Service managers, District Manager and Regional manager have not returned any of our calls, emails. We have been to 2 service centers and they are telling us that this 215 mile range is standard and correct for their long range Wind model (the 310 mile model) My wife and I believe that KIA has placed the EV6 Light Model Battery in the Wind Model Frame.

Another who have no understanding about EPA range. Your 2.3 m/kwh suggest a very heavy speeder foot on the highways. Go slower for better consumption and you range prediction will improve... and yes the car is showing you the range you can expect with that kind of consumption (the shown range is based on historic consumption, not EPA). Whats why its often called a guess-o-meter (GOM).. when you start getting app. 4.3 m/kwh or better you can beat the EPA range... your car has 77.4 kw battery.. you are just wasting it with high speed consumption really.. simple as that.. so the car really is telling you that its 77.4 battery is good for 215 miles of range with the way you are driving it

What a stupid mistake to under fill the cooling fluid with a BAD low-level senor!!!! Also I had to top up the coolant 6 times in the last 3 months like it had a leak but I can't find drips so the heat-pump must be vaporizing the coolant somehow. There currently are very few EV's (of any make) to choose from, unless of course you can spend 80-100k €, which we can't.
