- Just King Part 1 - 2022's take on SNKRX, it's a lot of fun! The game has a simple premise - defend the king (and your units), but has a lot of depth with fun synergy and a shop with a ton of choices. Pick it up while it's still $3.

My favorite part was when the berserker said "it's berserkin' time." Truly a masterpiece. This is certainly one of the games of all time
I think the lute's 50% haste to party on Left means you could have put the healer on the left side of the king for the extra buff
As someone that knows that it does that, yes.

I remember playing an early demo, the items weren’t as organised or inspired so I heard, and I once made the Berserker get a full heal when his ability Enrage ended, and back then it didn’t have a cooldown as far I remember, so he was effectively unkillable and rampaged when he took enough dmg 😆😅
Pro tip, items can be sold for 1, so if you have empty item slots, there is no down side to buying a 1 cost item for a round. You can just sell it back next shop and it’s the same as having saved your money but you got the item for one fight
By the way, you could have swapped the cleric with the berserker to get extra haste on the cleric because the lute gave extra haste on the left.
It would be extra haste for everyone, not just cleric :P

@@michasokoowski6651 No it's extra haste for the left, which would have been the cleric if he swapped the cleric with the berserker.

Seems very inspired by Snkrx and it makes me glad to see since I enjoyed that game but thought it had too little content/replayability
And also the dev for Snkrx said he's not gonna update/rewrite the game, so it's kinda abandoned now. Good thing new roguelikes appear, like, weekly.
Looks like Tyler noticed that too, the end card shows the first episode of Snkrx
What part of this seems snkrx like? 8bit is its own style genre and so are roguelikes.... The fundamentals between the two could not be more different
@@Amodh1257 Both this and Snkrx have the exact same fundamentals. Use money to buy units with specific synergies, upgrade units so they get stronger, evade shoots from enemies while your minions automatically deal damage to these enemies, they also come in multiple waves, when you are finished with them you are returned to planning your team.
I just described both games, how you don't see that the fundamentals are straight up the same is beyond me. you're either trolling or genuinely don't understand either game

You can drag a same class unit onto itself to instantly give it the 2 tokes you would get from selling.

Tyler the letter in the corner is the frenzy counter, it goes up when you get new kills and showcases the attack speed buff level your units currently have from the frenzy synergy

Few tips:
The cleric’s item that would give haste if on left
Also you can drag the same troop over the troop in your party without having to sell it and it will only cost 2 and give the same troop the 2 tokens automatically

I don't know if he figures it out but you can just drag the same hero type on top of another and its the same as selling and putting on the tokens. So if you put a barbarian on a barbarian it gains 2/3 of level

@@achi5170 That sounds a bit quick to judge. SNKRX's music is by Kubbit, and it's a blend of digital and analog sounds. Just King's music is by Tad on, and it's fully chiptune. They definitely have some similarities, but nobody's copying anyone else here. The electronic genre existed well before either game.
@@achi5170 SNKRX is not that creative itself, you know. It just combined arena survival, snake, and auto chess. Not to say it's bad, taking concepts from other games is totally fine. Everyone does it

Maybe you could try out Railbound when it comes out. It's a pretty simple tile based train puzzle game.
A game you should check out is neon sundown it’s got many synergies and infinite gameplay so it just gets harder until you die and there are different zones you can go in that make the game harder

Would be really cool if you could change which party member your mouse primarily follows. As in, the knight was always closest to the mouse for this run. Could be a little arrow around the king with 8 positions to put in on, to focus on either one, or two.
You can't do it in combat but you can change which heroes are in which slot in the shop by changing their position around the king.
@@Owlknoght Yeah, but that's not what I mean. We saw there are buffs to members in certain slots. Like party member on the left gets +10%. Which is definitely not for like a mechanical balance, "the thing to the left of your mouse should get a buff" as simply moving your mouse to the side isn't mechanically hard or disadvantageous. It's more of a game balance thing. Some items buff what's on the left vs right, but they never both apply. But they don't care where you're pointing. And the game play doesn't care where you're actually pointing. It only cares which way you want your party facing at a given time.
That's all to say, nothing would actually be hurt negatively with this, it would just make the aiming a lot nicer and feel a lot more intuitive to what you're trying to do. So you don't have to go shuffling around your party just so you can aim. And shuffling still doesn't work if you want to prioritize two members instead of one.

The game already lets you do this, just not directly.

Keep playing 20 minutes till dawn, it’s one of my favorite rougelites I’ve played and they’ve added a bunch of new content! (2 new characters, 1 new weapons, and an endless mode.)
