Unless they changed it since last I used it, it breaks on contract with anything including regular pegs. It'll heal you for the damage the one peg would have done, and the peg will get egg yolk on it, but that's decorative and does nothing
I don't understand how it wasn't obvious that pegs were solid. Interestingly, in the slime boss fight, the red pegs that kill your momentum are not solid, so you can actually get a bunch of healing, and maybe even get the egg back if it doesn't hit any solid pegs or walls.

• On a 3/6 stone you'd need 5 crits for old fleece to break even and 6 for it to be better. • On a base daggorb (1/7) you need 8/9 crits for old fleece to be on par with current one • On a base allorbnothing (0/10) you'd need 9/10 crits Below those thresholds new fleece gives a significantly higher bonus. Overall I'd say for a good crit board with about 5 crit pegs you'll be getting extra damage on most crit orbs and equal or slightly worse on average orbs. I think the rework was a decent buff on most situations and a good increase in consistency for crit builds. As for the old redonculous numbers, you may not be able to break floating point variables (aka reach the millions and go into null values) but you can reach 30-50k with critiballs on a good run, which is still ridiculous enough to oneshot all enemies in the game with extreme overkill. Also you're now safe from number overflow killing you through zero damage attacks.
I can confirm I've hit 100k with critiball plus short stack and stuff. The one thing that instantly caught my wye thought is how the item appears to make anti-crot worse. I haven't tested it but if so I guess that gives you a reason to be a bit more picky with the item
Gonna nitpick, I doubt the peg damage is calculated with floating point variables and when it overflows it probably doesn't become null. I undermeant what you stood, but I think vocab matters with this stuff.
Just based on when it overflows, the internal damage value is a signed 32-bit integer number, not a floating point number. Also, null is a very different concept in programming, it's not simply zero, it usually refers to an invalid address or a variable without an assigned value, among other things. When a signed integer overflows, it goes into the negatives, which in this case causes the shot to do 0 damage.
@@WhatsAGoodName42069 I hereby accept your nitpick. In all due honesty, I did a bit of programming here and there but never went too far with it, so all I have is a general understanding. Floating point did sound a bit too much though, but by the time I realised the comment had been left out in the wild for a couple minutes already and I had no desire of perturbing it's peaceful existence amidst YT's jungles.
yeah the cake was a good idea bc the egg is only ever useful on the slime boss fight, as the healing would stack as long as you don't hit pegs or bouncers or walls
it also seems okay with safety net, with it if you use the egg to hit a crit you get 50 hp edit: or you can shoot it into a pit with safety net for a reusable heal
The polterorg you passed on at the end of act 2 actually synergizes super well with durable and power glove. Also the damage all is really good. One of my favorite orbs
Hey Tyler. My evening habit after getting home from work (EU) is watching your videos. On days without videos I understand that life gets in the way. All this preamble just to say thanks for the entertainment.
I had this exact same build yesterday but I managed to get kinetic meteorite and it was glorious. I didn't have any real bomb synergy but it was very bouncy and very good nevertheless. Unfortunately, bounce builds don't work well against the final boss, but performance improves over time when the map gets more open.
All I can say is this was great. My only wish would be perfecting a build for some sort of endless mode, maybe different floors, and some ideal combos. The only things this build was missing would be the cookie, whichever one refreshed thrown bombs, and the refresh bag. Those would make this even more unstoppable. Along with more thinning of stones and non rubborb. Nosforbatu is great, but otherwise only rubborb is divine.
in a perfect world, the peglin team is 10x bigger so there’s so many items it’s like TBOI where no 2 runs are the same untill you’ve invested hundreds of hours and relics can be leveled.
Tbh what you described were exactly my issues with the critsomallos change: It was (realistically speaking) a buff to an already incredibly powerful relic, but removed so much of its fun side
I was able to cruise through one run with an early mirror, followed by the duplication pool, then the other mirror, meaning I had four Orboros. Then I got a Gift off the first boss and that was pretty much it. 20 straight shots of Echo 50? Yes please!
How to make the Blind ball useful again: Give it Blind X, where X is the number of pegs it hit. If your shot sucks, it's like blind 3 or smth. If it's godlike, blind 50. GTKoG? Blind 420.
Blind blind synergy is actually so good. Get a ton of bomb amount boosters and like 3 level 3 blind orbs or so and you can perma blind a ton of enemies
The first time I got the egg, I threw it during the plants fight and went “oh duh, it broke because it hit the square pegs and those are solid” so the next run i threw it against the big spiral board slime fight and i was devastated
You say the blind orb is bad, but it showed how good stacking blind can be. at 15 blind per hit thats a good stack if you can get multiples. the lack is its single target. I think if it applied to all enemies or even just 2 enemies it would be perfect. because with other blind items you could in theory just be untouchable.
Does Safety Net provide free heals with the Egg if you don't hit anything? I haven't gotten it since the update was released, so I haven't been able to check myself, but it would certainly be interesting.
You might want to consider taking Echorb in the future - it got buffed and hits all enemies, making it an AOE option that scales off the damage of high power single-target orbs.
