Amusing note. Though relicts are a relatively undefined class of monster there does seem to be some kind of bond among some of them. If you don't kill the succubus you encounter in Skellige she seems upset about Chorts and Fiends being killed by Witchers. It's possible they come from the same world and succubi know how to avoid provoking them. In polish language the word Czort (Chort in english writing) is an oldish or "countryside" form of the word Czart (Chart) which basically means devil. Not necessarily a pagan devil. Til this day people say "ki czort" or "ki diabeł" which means the same thing, "what the hell" or "what the heck"; same difference too. This all means that both Chort and Fiend are meant to mean the same thing, a devil ;) Cheers and thx for the vid!
It's still very much Pagan, as Slavic lore for Devil's is derived Chernobog and his minions, which align with Christian depictions from the time, but were read with folklore guiding the reasoning. Chernobog is often depicted rising from the great black mountain, wings unfurled and minions dancing around pits of fire spewing forth. However we know many things are all to rendition. I believe Chorts are meant to represent the age of things, and that Chorts may well be the result in ecological necessity. Chorts may be the lesser kin of Fiends, and we see the similarities why, but the differences explain much, the horns are much more bovine in nature, ram inspired by base, but the fact they chose a Chort to defend Cows rather than a Friend may just be more of a inclusion than previously thought. It's likely a Chort is the offspring of a Fiend and a desperately taken mate, very heavily implying it might have been cattle that a fiend found themself fond.
@@ursagaming3170 uuum mate... I meant what i said. I know my language, when i say that in polish we call czort or czart in more modern writing all kinds of devils or evils thats what i mean. So yeah, czort or czart or english chort means most commonly a devil, christian or otherwise.
@@ursagaming3170 the word itself is literal translation to “devil” so it is not pagan at all in its essence. People still use the word when they refer to the satan devil. Im talking about actual real life and not anything to do with lore of the Witcher franchise.

well I'd say the answer would be painfully plain, if you consider the following: - Witchers, scars aside, are all young or middle aged looking men in pristine physical condition (Vesemir being the exception, but he's said to be about 200) - Witchers, as a result of their mutations, are more psychologically horny than normal men (on the physical side, stress and potions take a toll and ED is behind the corner, but oh well) so they do try to get it on at any possible chance - Being sterile means being able to knowingly get it on without even the worry of becoming a dad :D - There are some women who are excited and attracted to the exotic, and a witcher makes for a pretty powerful exotic male - The good old idea of the "evil foreigner/different/freak that comes after our women" that makes all "pseudo-Chad" males from all ages feel hit in their masculinity, including witchers but also bandits, mercenaries, soldiers even of your own country but coming from different regions, even colonizers And there you have it
