Being a retired Master Chief, I now have to watch this movie. Love that it's by Cirio Santiago. I've fallen in love with his films since I have been watching your channel. I met Robert Patrick, while I was on active duty. I talked to him about Cirio. He spoke so very highly about him.
But "Vampire Hookers" made it sound like it would be such an artistic, classy chef d'oeuvre of a film! Not that calling itself "Lifeforce" helped "Space Vampires" get any success... The part about the three girls failing to screw one random guy into submission after prolonged gratuitous on-screen action reminds me of a similar scene in 1970's "Getting Into Heaven". But that was funnier because the three girls had a chalkboard on which they marked how many times they'd gone at him, and overacted how tired they were. That, too, was a classy film. They put so much work into it that it took them a whole nine days to film it all!

I always wondered if that's why Nicodemus had such bad hands in Secret of NIMH. I know Carradine did the voice of the Great Owl, but I wonder if his actual hands were an influence 🤷🏻♂️
Poor guy, that looks incredibly painful. If you've seen the great Richard Farnsworth in "The Straight Story", he was in about the same plight. He could hardly walk, and yet he gave the performance of his career.

Great video. This movie sort of reminds me of Beverly Hills Vamp. It was also a vampire hooker comedy. But from the 80's. It had the nerdy guy from Critters 2 as the main hero.

I'm glad you have mentioned Vic Diaz in this film because many who watched his other movies doesn't actually knows his name. The cab driver-turned-vampire, Julio, who was portrayed by Leo Martinez, was the former Director General of the Film Academy of the Philippines.
At 7:28, the sailor's jump-and-run-away - love it, he's like a living cartoon character! I'm going to have to look up more John Carradine movies. Don't know much about him. Even though he's physically in rough shape here, he still seems so debonair and poised.
Fun (and kinda sad) Fact; Carradine's arthritis later inspired both the look and performance of the Great Owl and Nicodemus (whom he voiced) in 'The Secret of NIMH'. They even redesigned the look of the Owl around this. =)

Trey Wilson who plays Terry in this masterpiece was actually a fine actor who went on to much better roles in big budget films like RAISING ARIZONA and BULL DURHAM with Kevin Costner. I worked with him in summer stock productions in the early 1970s when he was trying to get his Equity card. Sadly he died at age 40 just as his film career was really taking off. He was a character and I miss him.
