The vampire diaries technically came first. It's based on a book series started in the 90's, it's even older than me. But the show itself came after the first twilight movie.

Hi, I absolutely love this show and have seen the entire series at least 7 times. I will never get tired of it. Pilots are always episodes that introduce the characters and the show progressing at such a rate after this. Hope you love it and continue on with it as it gets to where every ep makes you want to watch the next one. The characters are so intriguing and the relationships between them evolve over time. Enjoy

I started watching this during Covid and was surprised at how good it was, and then I looked it up, Kevin Williamson (creator and writer of the scream/ghostface movies, Dawson’s creek, I know what you did last summer , etc) co-wrote the first 3 seasons of the vampire diaries
Yes! Not only did Kevin co-write the first 3 seasons, he was the co-creator & executive producer along with Julie Plec & he was always behind the scenes since he's been best friends with Julie for over 20 years. She said it at a fan convention panel last year. And Kevin came back officially to co-write the final season 8 and he & Julie are still very close friends with the majority of the cast. I love that 👏

It's a banger of a show. No doubt top 10 for MOST that see the season one finale and on. An interesting show for sure like game of thrones level drama meets cringe teen romance type drama. But it works perfectly lol
@@Justwatch100 First 3 seasons are freaking masterpiece, especially season 2 and 3. Season 4 and 6 was good, 5 7 and 8 was week but in general TVD one of the bests TV shows for me Plot twists, drama, pain, some humor soundtracks and incredible acting. Enjoy the ride)
The fans of TVD get insulted if you compare TVD to Twilights because twilight is a silly teen not believeble love triangle and TVD is n so much more, it's about discrimination, family values, comunity, true friendship, redention, sure a love story but more like a journey into adulthood and what is love as an teenager and as an adult etc. It's very deep and very psycological, but at the same time incredibly entertaining, extremelly well written, splendidly acted, the cast is so perfectly casted, that you couldn't imagine anybody else in their parts. It's famous for it's plot twists an cliffhangers, that will make very difficult for you not to binge. It has the rewatchabity factor that is why people watch it over and over again and never get tired of it and discover new things at any rewatch. Enjoy the ride, because it'a going to be an emotinal rollecoaster like you've never experienced before.
@@Justwatch100 believe me it's very complex, you have to pay attention to the body language because 30% of the scrip is expressed in body language. It will test your ability to read people correctly, like why Damon wished an eternity of misery to his brother, what Stefan has done to make his own brother to wish him that? Nothing here is what it seems and every action, reaction has it's motivation and it will challenge your ability in critical thinking and not to judge the book by it's cover. Nothing is simplistic and black and white. So do not approach the show thinking is a shallow simple love triangle because is far from it.
