Just my opinion but The Originals is the superior show, significantly gritty, no teen love drama and true family loving/hating moments and just simply the most well development of characters 😍
The one thing i really like is that no matter how angry Klaus is, he will always stop and listen when Elijah says Niklaus!😂 And also i think you are gonna love Hayley!
Marcel is definitely one of the most interesting characters.when you learn more about his relationship with Klaus, you will understand why he treats him as an equal..and still has a heart..or head...
There is a reason Marcel can talk to Klaus that way without fear. Well one he’s just built different which is why I like him so much. But there is also another reason that will be explored
Ohh! Elijah is scarier than Klaus because he is the embodiment of the phrase: "Good men don't need rules. Today is not the day to find out why I have so many." Klaus has no rules, so we know exactly what he's going to do, but Elijah? who knows?
What makes elijah dangerous is his unpredictability. Just when you think he's the noblest one, he'll rip someone's heart out. And if you think him heartless, take a look at the rest of the members. Elijah's the sanest there is.
The Originals is certainly better than TVD, and I mean that sincerely from the pov that TVD is not bad, I just found the TVD started to drag and become so unfocused by the last 3 seasons it lost me. The Originals always carrys one key tenant , Family
A big point might be that one main character wasn't in the show anymore. And that Bonnie got annoying in later seasons. A certain death might have contributed to it.
I love The Originals more than The Vampire Diaries, I still love TVD a lot though. I watched TO first, which wasn’t a good idea in hindsight because certain things from TO didn’t make sense until after I watched TVD. I plan on re-watching TO sometime soon.

I totally understand why the idea of Klaus as a father is completely unthinkable. He spent centuries trying to become a hybrid, but it didn't make him happy. Then he figured out how to make other hybrids so he could have a "family" who would be loyal to him for freeing them from the pain of turning, but it didn't make him happy. He killed his father, the man that had made his life hell as a child and then dedicated his life to killing him, but it didn't make him happy. However, the one thing he kept nearby all of his life were his siblings, and it drove him mad when Stefan took them. I believe the only thing Klaus ever really wanted was a family that loved him for who he was and didn't judge him. And what does a child do? They give unconditional love to their parents and family. I believe that if Klaus ever feels the sweet, complete love of his child, he would be a fantastic father and he would move Heaven and Earth for that baby.

In the Discworld novel, Carpe Jugulum, the author describes a vampire character's voice as having 'older brother harmonics on every syllable' and Elijah in this episode reminds me of that, he is like everybody's stern older brother :P.
I wasn’t on board with the baby storyline either until season 5 🤣 I think you will grow to like Hayley. Hayley and Elijah are 😘 I loved Marcels speech and standing up to Klaus, that was great! Personally, I prefer TVD. I found it more interesting. But I will say for the originals, the ending of season 1 and beginning of season 2 I really enjoyed! Season 4 was not enjoyable imo but the rest of the show was fun.
My personal opinion on the 3 series. TVD is OK...not great, but definately enjoyable. Legacies, the first season was really good (was it the first couple seasons? Could have been, I don't recall, I stopped watching it)... but then it seems they changed the writers and started employing 8 year old kids as writers. But The Originals is by far the best of the 3! I think you are in for a treat!
I don't saying where, but let's you say that you're also watching another show where they did the "vampire baby" storyline first Soo.... Is going to be interesting to see you reaction of both things at almost the same time too because you're soo close
Why didn't you watch the TVD and TO episodes in the exact order each of their episodes came out? That's what I did. You're going to be very confused when you see them reference something that happened in the other show.
Witches aren't superior in TVD, they're very mortal and the only reason Bonny gets to throw Damon around with her witch powers is that Damon lets her. A vampire can still snap a witches neck, impale them with thrown objects, ambush them. If a vampire wants a witch dead, that witch had better be one super badass witch or they'll end up dead, and even then the odds are they'll end up dead. Damon and Stefan aren't even very powerful vampires, they're both less than two centuries old. Even Katarina was strong enough that Bonny was almost powerless against her without a significant source of power to draw from. So yeah, a witch against a vampire, most of the time my money would be on the vampire. The witch needs special circumstances to be a real threat against them.
I thought you saw the series when you started the fifth season of Vampire Diaries, because the things that happen in one affect the other and it makes more sense. Even so, if you don't remember everything, it doesn't hurt to review it.
I'm gonna be honest I wasn't really that into vampire diaries it started good but turned into too much of a teen soap opera for me and I dont really have patience for those... Buffy is only "teen show" I can watch forever because it was different and special and transcended that genre. but Originals were best part of vampire diaries and it was such a great decision to give them their own show. great characters and great actors and new characters are amazing too, and this show was so much better in every way. and it was set in magical fantastic New Orleans which felt like a little nod to Anne Rice :) couldn't ask for better setting
I’ll be the first to admit that although the vampire diaries is irreplaceable, the originals is a far better show in terms of story and plot lines.
Yeah but The Originals doesn't have seasons like Season 1,2,3 of The Vampire Diaries but overall if you look at consistency the originals is better
