Good job bro never seen a aluminum bed cover and your right the big piano angle pieces are ridiculous high like 30-$40 each plus the sheets of plywood $40-$50! I'll more than likely just buy a kit for $120 later for my s10.
Very Nice! I have thought about using plexiglass or Lexan and painting the underside black. There is also black abs plastic in various thickness that would work. I am sure it would need to be thicker than the .030 aluminum you used. I have been thinking of this for a couple of years now, thanks for starting my creative urges back up!
Nicely done! I picked up an A.R.E. fiberglass with the metal frame and struts (MINT) From the scrapyard a few months ago-200$. It looks great, but dang it's not light lol. It's OK, I'm building a second s10 to solve the weight of this one. Just got my third ZF 8 speed as I couldn't decide which variant I wanted to go with (ie then order tc and bellhousing adapters, model decides tcu+controller, etc) But back to bluu- LOOKS FANTASTIC BROTHER
Nice job!! Super budget!! Thanks for sharing. Maybe If you would have used the aluminum angle across the bed and at the back, it would have kept it flat without adding more material. Just an idea.
That's pretty cool. Wouldn't vinyl weigh less though? I would think the nhra would want that painted because of the sun glare off of it could blind other drivers.
Been thinking about doing a flush bedcover like this for a while but never knew how. This is definitely a great idea! Going to have to try
You had me at “DIY, at home, not professional”. Looks awesome!

I think you’re right. Angle everywhere would been stronger,
Where do you purchase the aluminum from
Source you out a wholesale place.

I have some Matte black carbon fiber wrap on the way.
@LsBluu I think it's a really good set up. You created a really good design. Some of the stuff you come up with could make you a millionaire.
Find someone with a bead roller a that will make it less flimsy nice work fixing to do mine
I think if instead of using flat aluminum, use angle or box all the way around.
