There are two main types of nougat, one's from France (you call this 'nougat') and one's from Germany (you call this 'praline'). But in Swedish, we call the German one 'nougat', and the French one 'fransk nougat'. This leads to no end of misunderstandings.
Thanks for letting us know, we both got so confused but I think towards the end we worked it out haha! Loved both the zoo monkeys & the cloetta polly 🤤
When it comes to the nougat there are multiple types and instead of calling it white nougat we call it fransk nougat (french nougat), because it originated in france. Soft milk chocolate hazelnut nougat is just called nougat in Swedish. (but the brand is Swedish so it is a Swedish snack I guess)
Imports from South America are also what influenced the company name "Estrella" - which means "Star" in Spanish. What does Estrella stand for? 1946 - Folke Andersson started importing bananas from South America. He decides to call his new company Estrella, after the Spanish for "star". Folke thus becomes known as the "Banana King".
I’m Swedish and yes I do eat meatballs 😊 I also eat salty licorice, the saltier the better. A lot of the stuff you have on your table is favorites of mine. But I don’t have one furniture from IKEA in my home though 🤣😂🤣
MumS Mums. You include the s both times lol. Basically means yummy yummy. Swedish meatballs, or just meatballs here haha, is very much a thing. We eat it often.
Thanks for the comment, also thank you for letting us know what mums mums means 🙋🏽♀️ & ooh love that Swedish meatballs are defo a thing, they are always something we have to get when we visit IKEA 😂, hopefully one day I get to try the real thing 💛
I'm a Swede. Yeah, Swedish meatballs are very popular here even though we ofcourse just call them meatballs :) And I would say we mostly make them our selves and don't go to Ikea to eat them. Well we could after a pitstop at the restaurant while shopping at Ikea but I personally rather take a hotdog at checkout :P Yeah I would say Ikea is popular here to buy the basic things. And everyone goes there to buy things for their first apartment or when people go to study at the university. Once people get older they tend to buy furniture from other Swedish/Scandinavian stores.
Hey ☺️ thank you for the reply! That’s awesome to know, haha funny over here we avoid the hot dogs & everyone seems to go for the meatballs 😝 we always say there’s nothing like Swedish meatballs (so they must be special) ☺️
@@littleniks .The only thing I ever seen being in a south US east coast state is the WASA Crispbreads.. I reckon I might as well just order a right good batch of some Swedish variety candy since the stuff seems to get the praise ..Thanks for the reply /****
Can confirm these are all genuine Swedish snacks, available in any grocery store in Sweden. 😊 The ä is supposed to be pronounced as the a sound in apple (well, close enough) and Wasa is actually pronounced Vasa (w is usually just v in Swedish). Meat balls are def a thing in Sweden, just your regular staple food. My fav are the moose meat ones, served with boiled potatoes, cream sauce, lingonberry jam and picked cucumbers!
Hey thank you for the lovely comment ☺️. Awh that’s so awesome to know that it’s all stuff you can actually get! I also love learning how to pronounce things correctly so thanks for the tips! Oh & moose meatballs that sounds amazing, hopefully one day I get to try them 🥰 have a great day!

The "Zoo" is the flavour of the zoo monkeys you eat earlier 14:50 but more like "foam" version on the cloetta polly.
Thanks for letting us know, we both got so confused but I think towards the end we worked it out haha! Loved both the zoo monkeys & the cloetta polly 🤤
@@littleniks The Zoo monkeys are more soft and I guess the travelling makes them harder I dunno but they are softer if u buy them in sweden. :D
Ahh ok good to know, hopefully some day I’ll make a little visit & get to try them again 🙋🏽♀️ they are so yummy!
Cloetta sounds like cloaca
That's so fun that the only people to appreciate salty licorice are Scandinavians! And we love it!!
Dutch and north germans like it too.
finnish people love it too

Mums means Yummy or Yum. Stale Cardboard was a very accurate description of the Wafer.
When you rate Kexchoklad a 7 anf below i quit watching then i know you dont have any taste buds left 😂
Swedish meatballs are stupidly common, and yes the small ones :P With mashed potatoes, lingonberries and a brown sauce it's amazing
