Lastly just because you “see it everywhere” doesn’t make it popular. Norway is a tiny country, and we have very little variety or selection of goods, especially foods and snacks/candy, unless special shops, or immigrant shops, therefore we have few brands and not much to choose from. What I hate about living here. It’s just that every grocery store has the most common brands, and the only thing that varies from each store is the selection of especially chips/crisps. So everyone knows their stores lol. We also often have 3+ grocery stores at the same location so you can get all the brands you prefer🤣🤣🤣 I live in Oslo and we have like Coop, Kiwi and Rema 1000, plus Joker and Bunnpris to choose from in regards to grocery stores in my neighborhood. Meny which is the most expensive one besides Joker, is in the neighboring area.

When whale isn’t a fish, but a mammal so can’t have a “fishy aftertaste”. I grew up on whale, reindeer, moose and horse meat as a kid back in the 90’s and 2000’s. Sorry to say, but outa of all the trying Norwegian snacks/candy reaction videos on here, Brits are the most negative. Of course you don’t have to like it or score in 10 just because it’s Norwegian, but overall Brits was the most negative out of all the others. Surprising to me as we are culturally, genetically and linguistically closer. English is in fact a Germanic language related to Norwegian. Americans were the most positive tho in comparison. Especially the guy in this video is super negative. The way he speaks etc. Bad day? Tired? Or maybe it’s just how British men are🥴 Weird because all the Brits I’ve met were super friendly and nice😝 Then again they weren’t Irish🤣🤣🤣

Norwegian here. Never saw brown cheese as “snacks” ever lol. We always eat that with either a slice of bread or with waffles. Calling is cheddar, but sweet tho… nah. Almost sounds like an insult of some kind😝 Of course it’s individual how you wanna enjoy this cheese, but if you want it the authentic way, on a slice of bread or on your waffle is how it’s done. It’s also much better straight out of the fridge. You don’t want it too out for too long so it gets wet and sticky. That’s just gross. We have various types of this type of caramelized brown cheese. Very traditional. Fun fact: All Brits are as high as 24% Scandinavian, mostly of Norwegian decent due to the Norse settlers recent genetic study show. My bf is Icelandic and he’s part Irish. Icelanders even have “Celtic skin”. Also when they 1st settled Iceland from Western Norway, no woman wanted to come with, so they stopped over in Dublin, which was a viking settlement at the time, and female slaves to take with them. Also the very 1st people to settle Iceland was actually Irish monks who were killed when the Norse arrived, luckily they left their livestock for the invaders to have. Iceland also have many Celtic place names.

Lovely series. I would book Balcony only for the Med or Canaries. Otherwise Sea-View (ie Port Hole) is so acceptable. Always book Mid-Ship if you can.

We had a balcony however, we're booking again for 2026 and we'll be going for an inside cabin on that occasion. I got up at half 5 on the Tuesday for the sail into Olden, but apart from that, we didn't really use the balcony. We have a Beagle but he's only 7 months old!

Nice of you to enjoy our country! And nice videos! If you want to re-visit, a tip is to take the coastal express route from Kirkenes to Bergen. It's not a cruise, but somehow it is, anyway. It's a mix of shuttlebus, goods transport and schoolbus. And foreigners can enjoy the view. Southbound route travels through Lofoten at daytime, northbound at night. But in summer, that doesn't matter, its light, anyway. Is your good boy a beagle?

We were on the same cruise. I was up early as we arrived in Kristiansand, at the front of the ship. I’m surprised that I didn’t see you, unless you were on deck 18? Of course, I wouldn’t have seen your videos then. 😊 Like you, I only discovered the games deck on the very last evening! I would have played chess had I known.

Take a flight to Norway next time and go on mountain hikes, it's the best experience ever. And the fact that your boyfriend actually took a looong dip in that water is wild, me as a Norwegian can't do that. My body stops me, it's too cold. But a funfact is that many norwegians do take icebaths, they are doing it for their mental health and physical health. And Nicola, I know when cold water hits the V I stop aswell, I don't want to torture myself lol

8:44 Oil and gas exploration equipment. Next to it is the oil museum in Norway. Stavanger is the so called oil capitol of Norway. It is where our oil and gas industry is run from. Just outside the city center is also a big NATO base. So the city has a very international atmosphere.

I have really enjoyed this video. I have not seen anyone visit Kristiansand but it looks lovely. I think our itinerary is the same as the one you have done, so looking forward to this port too now. Just booked our first cruise for next year on Britannia which so happens to be to the Fjords, taking in Stavanger and Olden. Absolutely loving your vlogs and the intro is superb along with the catchy music 👍🏻
