Thank you Simon. Your RF bridge vids solved a long standing puzzle - and I like your teaching. Well done. Henceforth i'm sold on Nodered! I hope now to build automations with RF sensors via RFBRIDGE>NODERED>MQTT-in node (via HA). Ideas for you? There's nothing I've found on that topic. And there's very little on RF temperature sensors. And how fickle are RF doorbells that refuse to pair with anything but their own ringers. Best R
Glad it helped! I tend to use the entities setup in config.yaml rather than direct into node red, that way you can easily use them on Lovelace dashboards etc. Thanks
Great series of videos, thank you! I want to control a Weinor awning that uses 433MHz remote with 3 buttons: up, down and stop. How can I capture the codes the remote sends out to use with the RF bridge? Appreciate any tips!
Simon thanks for great videos , Could you do a video on how I can use my Sonoff RF remote ( 4 Button ) through the Sonoff bridge ( Tasmota ) to control some lights on and off . I am sure there could be a way to press Button A for on and then press Button A again to turn the light off , all using Node Red. I would really appreciate it. Thanks
Hi Vaughan, thanks for watching. I’ve not done one specifically around an RF button with node red; although you could check this out which is using a zigbee button with a light th-cam.com/video/zPhLnhnppBk/w-d-xo.html
Hi Simon, great video. I managed to flash Tasmota onto my RF bridge using your video and get it configured to communicate with Node Red, thank you. I used the same Tecknet doorbell and it works perfectly. May I ask what brand of door switch sensor you are using?
The door switches I use are unbranded, and were the result of buying loads of different ones on eBay to find ones with open and close signals. The annoying thing is I can’t find them more!
Thanks for the great video! How do I determine what should be my command topic? My command topic doesn't work but my state topic does work. My state topic is: Home/RF_Bridge/RESULT
I couldn't get the bridge to recognise the Teknet Doorbell button. I'm not sure why this would be, but I suspect it's a limitation with the RF module firmware. I thought about flashing with Portisch firmware, but it seemed very complicated. My solution was to keep buying different brands of doorbell from Amazon until I found one that worked! For those interested, the SECRUI Doorbell works perfectly. What brand of door sensors do you use?
Before I go to the effort of flashing my sonoff bridge, can a Sonoff 433 mhz bridge receive an RF signal in the MQTT queue. IE use a 433mhz remote control to control a device in HA?
Hi, great video, help me a lot. One thing I want to know is it possible to send the RF code without the # sign ? I want to send the same codes via the RF Brigde as I have on my wall RF switch, which have no # sign in ?
Hey, just wondering how do you format single commands into scripts instead of a switch? I'm looking to send RF commands using the bridge to control my fan.
I bought the exact same TECKNET doorbell. I can not get the RF Bridge to read the button. Did you do something to get it to read? I have even tried Portisch in Raw mode and nothing. Any suggestions?
I bought the exact same TECKNET doorbell. The bell works as you show. The doorbell button does NOT work. It does not show in the console fo Tasmota. Not way to set it up without the code... Bummer. Did you actually use the button or are you just using the bell as shown?
So i have a lot of rf wall plugs And rfbrigde with tasmota and portish. in tas console i can turn on and of with Rfraw AA B0 23 04 08 041A 043A 00D2 097E 01202020200120012020202020202020202001012020202023 55 and i would love to know to set it up i have tryed your example, but no luck.( i just want to turn it on and off with ha.)
Hi Simon. Thanks for the videos , but I'm afraid I'm not getting it to work as per the video. I have a Sonoff RF Bridge, flashed with Tasmota working 100%. I also have a Sonoff Doorbell (Code #2C6465) and a cheap Ding Dong doorbell (Code AAA055 which I retrieved by using rfraw 0xB1 from the console in Tasmota) My config.yaml looks like this: mqtt: #RF Door Bell Send Signal switch: - unique_id: Door_Bell_Send_Signal name: "Sonoff Door Bell" state_topic: "tele/rf-bridge/RESULT" command_topic: "cmnd/rf-bridge/Backlog" availability_topic: "tele/rf-bridge/LWT" payload_on: "RfSync 10540; RfLow 360; RfHigh 1050; RfCode #2C6465" payload_off: "RfSync 10540; RfLow 360; RfHigh 1050; RfCode #2C6465_off" state_on: "#2C6465" state_off: "#2C6465_off" optimistic: true qos: 2 retain: false payload_available: "Online" payload_not_available: "Offline" value_template: '{{value_json.RfCode}}' binary_sensor: #RF Door Bell Receive Signal - name: "Ding Dong Chime" state_topic: "tele/rf-bridge/RESULT" payload_on: "#AAA055" payload_off: "#AAA055_off" payload_available: "online" payload_not_available: "offline" qos: 1 device_class: opening value_template: "{{value_json.RfReceived.Data}}" off_delay: 5 From Home assistant, everything works fine if I click the button I added. MQT: stat/rf-bridge/RESULT = {"RfSync":10540} MQT: stat/rf-bridge/RESULT = {"RfLow":360} MQT: stat/rf-bridge/RESULT = {"RfHigh":1050} MQT: stat/rf-bridge/RESULT = {"RfCode":"#2C6465"} but if I press the actual Sonoff Doorbell button, nothing happens. If I press the button again, the sync, Low and high values changes and remains the same, until I press the button in Home assistant again. I see this code in Tasmota console. MQT: tele/rf-bridge/RESULT = {"Time":"2022-09-23T16:21:54","RfReceived":{"Sync":10530,"Low":1040,"High":380,"Data":"2C6465","RfKey":"None"}} MQT: tele/rf-bridge/RESULT = {"Time":"2022-09-23T16:21:58","RfReceived":{"Sync":10540,"Low":360,"High":1050,"Data":"2C6465","RfKey":"None"}} Another thing I noticed is, that if I disconnect my RF Bridge, My Sonoff Doorbell still Rings the Ding Dong Chime. In Node red, after reconnecting the Bridge and after adding the time range and adjusting to a time range where it is not suppose to ring, it still rings. Any tips or ideas what I am doing wrong? I am fairly new to Home assistant and never used mqtt / node red before. Thanks in advance.
Thank you been using the RF bridge for over a year for sensors but used the information in this to resurrect some very old 433 sockets.
Thanks for the video! I love doorbell automations, and this is very clever. Thanks.
No problem - sometimes the key is in simplicity!
Thanks Simon

@@HomeSight Yes, I think now that putting mqtt settings into configuration.yaml is the better idea.

awesome the best instruction ive found in over two hours looking

It is exactly what I need. Thank you
No problem, glad to help.

so you can send singal for open the big door from your garage?

Sure, I don’t see why not!
Hey, just wondering how do you format single commands into scripts instead of a switch? I'm looking to send RF commands using the bridge to control my fan.
you use "call service", then "switch.turn_on" and then choose the switch created.
It is now a script
I bought the exact same TECKNET doorbell. I can not get the RF Bridge to read the button. Did you do something to get it to read? I have even tried Portisch in Raw mode and nothing. Any suggestions?
Nope, I didn’t do anything fancy, it just worked…
Is this information still valid? I see some really old versions.

Hi, I use the button and the bell!
Please lower the volume on the intro... not good when using earbuds thanks..
Hi, thanks for the feedback. This has been resolved in later videos!
Down shep and they won't get that either
I only just get that Bob! A little before my time…
Hi Simon. Thanks for the videos , but I'm afraid I'm not getting it to work as per the video.
I have a Sonoff RF Bridge, flashed with Tasmota working 100%. I also have a Sonoff Doorbell (Code #2C6465) and a cheap Ding Dong doorbell (Code AAA055 which I retrieved by using rfraw 0xB1 from the console in Tasmota)
My config.yaml looks like this:
mqtt:
#RF Door Bell Send Signal
switch:
- unique_id: Door_Bell_Send_Signal
name: "Sonoff Door Bell"
state_topic: "tele/rf-bridge/RESULT"
command_topic: "cmnd/rf-bridge/Backlog"
availability_topic: "tele/rf-bridge/LWT"
payload_on: "RfSync 10540; RfLow 360; RfHigh 1050; RfCode #2C6465"
payload_off: "RfSync 10540; RfLow 360; RfHigh 1050; RfCode #2C6465_off"
state_on: "#2C6465"
state_off: "#2C6465_off"
optimistic: true
qos: 2
retain: false
payload_available: "Online"
payload_not_available: "Offline"
value_template: '{{value_json.RfCode}}'
binary_sensor:
#RF Door Bell Receive Signal
- name: "Ding Dong Chime"
state_topic: "tele/rf-bridge/RESULT"
payload_on: "#AAA055"
payload_off: "#AAA055_off"
payload_available: "online"
payload_not_available: "offline"
qos: 1
device_class: opening
value_template: "{{value_json.RfReceived.Data}}"
off_delay: 5
From Home assistant, everything works fine if I click the button I added.
MQT: stat/rf-bridge/RESULT = {"RfSync":10540}
MQT: stat/rf-bridge/RESULT = {"RfLow":360}
MQT: stat/rf-bridge/RESULT = {"RfHigh":1050}
MQT: stat/rf-bridge/RESULT = {"RfCode":"#2C6465"}
but if I press the actual Sonoff Doorbell button, nothing happens. If I press the button again, the sync, Low and high values changes and remains the same, until I press the button in Home assistant again.
I see this code in Tasmota console.
MQT: tele/rf-bridge/RESULT = {"Time":"2022-09-23T16:21:54","RfReceived":{"Sync":10530,"Low":1040,"High":380,"Data":"2C6465","RfKey":"None"}}
MQT: tele/rf-bridge/RESULT = {"Time":"2022-09-23T16:21:58","RfReceived":{"Sync":10540,"Low":360,"High":1050,"Data":"2C6465","RfKey":"None"}}
Another thing I noticed is, that if I disconnect my RF Bridge, My Sonoff Doorbell still Rings the Ding Dong Chime.
In Node red, after reconnecting the Bridge and after adding the time range and adjusting to a time range where it is not suppose to ring, it still rings.
Any tips or ideas what I am doing wrong?
I am fairly new to Home assistant and never used mqtt / node red before.
