Voiceplay always does. The last year, after J-None left on deployment and they have brought in several cycles of new voices, they always work hard to let the new singer shine. Yes, if they had just been the 5 it would probably have come closer to what we know now, but they were not ready to do that yet. I can only imagine what the sing-off would be like if they were competing now, although it would not be the same as a truly amateur group.
That's more like it Voice Play! I think this song just suits Honey's voice more than the last one. The arrangement was better, the harmonies were a lot stronger, and the percussionist really laid the beat down
This should stop all the nay sayers. This was incredible to me. I got party immediately. The dancing was great and I love Honey's vocal chops. She's got soul B+
Voice Play has a video on their TH-cam channel illustrating (with a twinkie, no kidding, seriously) how they prepared for the ultimate sing-off battle. Highlight of their performance was Honey's rap.
Honestly, I can see why they didn't make it far that year. While they're all extremely talented singers and they were in time and stuff, they didn't seem "together." Like, from a technical standpoint, yes, but they weren't in the music, and I think that's why other groups got farther and why Home Free ended up winning that year. Every song they did they were super tightly knit together. VoicePlay just doesn't give off that energy.
they're best performance ever, i can sing high like in Earl's range, but only in falsetto (head voice) Earl did it in chest voice which is like really hard to do for a lot of guy singers love the acting too, i repeat best performance from them
The two lead guys both have baritone speaking ranges which is funny, and they can both countertenor but the blonde one is naturally a falsetto guy. Remember not to get head voice and falsetto mixed up, head voice has some connection to your chest, but I get what you mean.
Chris Koraltan it's cool, they kinda come from the same place and are difficult to tell apart. Like I thought Sam Smith used a lot of falsetto, but if you listen to love you like I can and that's all headvoice which is super crazy! He could basically slide up to the top notes from the bottom in his range without breaking into falsetto, but it does get very light and nasal which helps make it powerful. If you like, you can Google anything you wanna know. Sorry for saying too much it's how I talk when I'm interested!
+HeyJoJoTF2 Earl can sing an insane chest voice... Up to E5 or F5. He's nearly an alto. His falsetto actually doesnt go much further; only up to an Eb6. This song does use his head voice, but he has the ability to sing in the same range with his chest voice.
Glame Glumps Eb6 at least is higher than he'll ever need haha He's probs closer to a mezzo! I remember these comments well, can't believe they were 44 weeks ago... much has changed :o
0:14 I think he made a mistake in saying "we didn't come out with a real strong start" because I think they did a great job, just the judges didn't like it, they shouldn't disown their work. Afro-Blue probably lost because they started being too apologetic for not pleasing the judges and being too apologetic in their arrangements
+okonh0wp If you run a race where you cant see the other runners, no matter how good you think you are doing, if you end up in nearly last place, you suck. It doesnt matter how good you, or anybody watching you thought you did. It matters how you actually did.
He's doing beyond phenomenally well considering how new it is to him. He has come so far in such a very short time frame. Especially since he's a baritone who can do bass.
I know right? I absolutely adore Voiceplay (they're my favorite a capella group) but I wish they'd give some of the other members arrangements to really show off their massive ranges or their individual strengths.
Glad they got rid of the weak link and are so successful now. I love voiceplay
Their biggest problem was that the guys became a backing band for HONEY.
In other words you say that she was the lead performer and outshines the rest of the band?
You should see them now. They are so much better now It's not even close.
@@ninglight4433 no, what he means is that the lead they have here is detrimental to the band. The rest is much better in comparison.
@@thijsiejjjj17 Yes. Just yes.

I think this is the most impressive performance from any of the acapella groups in any of the seasons of the Sing Off. Absolutely phenomenal!
Dude just the five of them are good honey’s voice does not go with them
Yeah Honey is like Ruby from the collective
"I'm pretty fly, for a white guy." 😂😂😂😂😂
i think by far this group has been the most original of any on the sing off
Except possibly Pentatonix
And vocal point
I think only one group that dont have originality and that is The Deltones in Season 3
That's more like it Voice Play! I think this song just suits Honey's voice more than the last one. The arrangement was better, the harmonies were a lot stronger, and the percussionist really laid the beat down
If Home free were not in this season of the singoff. Voiceplay would have probably won. So Pentatonix, Home free and Voiceplay would be winners
I'm a fan of all three groups and i whole heartedly agree...
They’re the top of the top now, this was like voiceplay beta
Nota, Committed, and Street Corner Symphony: What, Do we belong?
The way they arranged it was definitely impressive
its was prolly geoff
The transition at 2:14 was really, really good.
This is one of the best performances that was done by a group in the sing off... this was dope
"I'm pretty fly....for a white guy." Lol
This should stop all the nay sayers. This was incredible to me. I got party immediately. The dancing was great and I love Honey's vocal chops. She's got soul B+
I love the voice play that i know without honey
I did not expect that to be so AWESOME
This is the best version that I have heard of this song!

I think they chose the wrong girl to put in their group but if that was Rachel it would be better
Voice Play definitely suit the reggaetone vibe!
They would have won if honey wasn’t there

HeyJoJoTF2 really i thought falsetto and head voice were the same thing, my bad thanks for the help man

1:03 "Okay white boys" 🤣🤣🤣
This was a strong showing...liked it a lot better
they funked me up!! hahaha seriously though, it was good........
This is good, but they got so much better!
'Kay. I think "mission accomplished"!!
Geoff didnt hit any subharmonics, he should've popped some out tbh
Pretty sure he couldn't do them at this point
It doesn't really sound as good as growl in this setup
He’s only being doing them for 2 years
A big come back

I wish they could see them now
The dancing though!
shit that was great lol
Geoff doesn't go near as low as he does now
Yea didn't hit his second puberty here yet lol
Mainly because he hadn't learnt how to do subharmonics yet. That's a very recent thing for him as a singer.
@@michaelmcdonald2005 and his chest is lower now than before

Wow nice
WAIT, there was a time when all the songs didn’t revolve around Geoff?!?!?
I know right? I absolutely adore Voiceplay (they're my favorite a capella group) but I wish they'd give some of the other members arrangements to really show off their massive ranges or their individual strengths.
Oh my gosh. XD The dancing...
A Syrdal it’s so old school😂
Love this one!
This is their earliest stage
That was good...
3:39, what is her face doing? XD
😂😂
I think it's... *smiling*
Smiling. Fucked up when someone makes fun of someone else's laugh or smile. They showing happiness n you make fun of it. Pretty fucked up
Voice Play, could you possibly do something with Honey? LOVE LOVE LOVE her voice and you all together. pretty plzzzzzz
What happened to the girl in the group?
She was only part of the group for the Singoff, not always
Damn!
I liked it.
who's the chick?
Blah!
