What to know about drop rates in any Asian MMO? Throne and Liberty being Korean, means that the drop rates and rng are set to asian sweatshop grind. It's set this way, so that you have to spend hours grinding for the most mundane things. As examples, golden rye and shrimp bait. Both of these are common items. Though, go farm them, they drop on the uncommon/rare side. Also note while farming, the rng is set to drop gear crafting mats before anything else.
honestly a lot of the tier 2 dungeon drops are way easier to get by crafting them from lithographs you can buy off of the auction house. it takes lucent but not that much like 150-200 or so per lithograph. pretty easy to farm if you do resistance contracts regularly and sell what you do not need. grinding dungeons in this game for gear is just so not worth it with the amount of time it takes waiting in que and when you do get a group you have a bum healer that does not heal or randoms that do not know mechanics.
Statically speaking you should run the dungeon 100-200 to get a better statistical look at this. 10 wont really give you an accurate look at drops. I think you just got unlucky here.
@@EhJay_Plays Yea doing something the correct way sometimes means a lot of work, who would know... Even for "rough" numbers 50 runs sound more like it, but it can still be super inacurate.
Yeah you basically just gave incredibly inaccurate information regarding drops. There's absolutely no way to get a correct drop rate only doing 10 of the same dungeons @EJ
For those neerds out there: If you do a run of 10 bosses the chance for you to have x number of purple items from this run is about: 1 item 8% 2 items 19% 3 items 26% 4 items 23% 5 items 13% 6 items 5% 7 items 1.5% 8 items 0.28% (simmilar of getting box from a world boss containing weapon) 9 items 0.03% 10 items 0.001% (winning a lotery is roughly 0.000001% to 0.00001%) If you want to calculate on your own (10!/(2!(10-2)!))0.33^2(1-0.33)^(10-2) put it in wolframalpha, 10 is number of tries and every "2" is the number of success just change every 2 to your succes rate.

I've been tracking my Tier 2 drops, and in 46 runs I've gotten 11 purple drops. That's about 24%. That's still a relatively small sample size, but my point about tier 2 dungeons that I have been saying for a while stands: that's too low of a drop rate for difficult PvE content (and yes, it is difficult until your gear makes it trivial -- there are a lot of mechanics in most of them). I feel like you should either get a purple drop, or you should get a chest that's similar to killing a World Boss; it should have Solent (250K sounds fair), 1000 green Stellarite, 5 Trait Unlock stones, and two additional boss token selection chests. It should also have a small (5%) chance to drop a chest that lets you select any piece of gear that the boss drops. This means that even if you aren't getting gear drops, it's still VERY worthwhile to run the 2-stars for Solent and Trait Unlock stones. Many of my guild members don't both with the 2-stars anymore because they take much longer than the 1-stars (especially if you get the aptly named Torture Chamber) and they already get enough Abyss Tokens for the amount they want to farm in a single day anyway.
@@Josh-99 i wish they would add or have the option for, runes / parchments instead of blues, it would speed up progression so much, but then again they don’t want to speed up progression as they want players to play for long… but if they push them away… hmm
@@EhJay_Plays I don't think they really need to worry about progression anymore. Most of the people who started playing at launch are already capped out or close to capped out on skills (it isn't hard to get to level 13 on all skills, including your passives), so "progression" is more vertical at this point, i.e. they are working on their next set of weapons (I finished up Crossbow/Dagger and are working on Bow/Staff). The next round of progression will come with Tier 2 items, but right now everyone who is serious is working on runes and pushing Dimensional Trials. You can't really "progression" your way out of that; you HAVE to do the mechanics or you won't succeed. Even then, 2-star dungeons aren't really about "progression"; it's about getting items that are EXTREMELY difficult to get otherwise. They are also a correction, as it was a TERRIBLE idea to make some items only able to be acquired from World Bosses and Guild Raids in a game with such a heavy focus on PvP. They could throw some progression items into 2-stars to expand their purpose without damaging the game. After all, you can only run two a day.
As many have pointed out, 10 runs isn't enough to get a statistically meaningful conclusion on drop rates. That being said, it is interesting to see what an average player can get with a full supply of tokens. I would say my experience is similar, with purples dropping rarely. I still think the drop rate listed by AGS is correct, and your results are probably due to the small sample size, which can deviate from the average. Perhaps enlisting a guild, reddit, or viewers to submit more samples would allow you to get a larger sample size for future research.

I want to point out something that I see in others videos - people asking for a pity system because they never drop a purple gear ever, without realizing that the coins/ extra chest thing that every boss drops is the pity system 😅 If you run enough DG you can get any item that they drop crafting the chest with the coins.
