Thank you so much for this tutorial. I popped off the top stopper from my husband's coat and was able to slide back on the zipper hook/loop. Now....where can I find the top stopper? I googled for this and came up with nothing. Thanks.
@@JacksonSewingAcademy Yes; it's the item that hangs onto the small metal ring on the slider that enables the pull to go up and down, which the manufacturer (Coats) refers to as the zipper pull. I bought a new pull but after I put it on it kept coming right off. Then I discovered why the original one fell off - the small metal ring on the slider has an opening at the bottom, so putting on a new pull is worthless, since it will fall off every time. Whoever thought an opening at the bottom of that ring is a mental midget.
@@melaniebruno4632 I agree with you on that. You can of course replace their ring with a similar sized key ring or decorative lace to create a pull. Other than that I would replace the entire slider. I also understand that sometimes replacing the slider means the new one may not match the others on a garment. I have had clients request they all be switched out for a cohesive appearance.
You should be able to replace the puller in the same manner as this video. Feel free to send me an image of the broken zipper puller (apriljackson323@outlook.com) if your problem is different than this video.
The zipper pull TAB broke of one of a "work sweatshirt" made by a well known company and when they sent me a "replacement kit" they didn't send the directions for how to fix it. I thought I had been saved when I found your video. Unfortunately your audio and your video are not "in alignment" with each other, making it really hard (at least for me) to follow/figure out what you're doing. You may want to look into fixing this issue.
Thanks for your feedback. Pull and slider can be used interchangeably when talking of zippers, as seen in this search result for 'zipper pull' www.myshoehospital.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/ZIPPER-PULLS_6-1-18.jpg The pull can refer to the tab we hold when opening and closing a zipper and the slider can refer to the body that encloses the teeth.

This is about replacing the slider, not the pull.
Some people use the two terms interchangeably.
@@JacksonSewingAcademy They are two different things, and I am looking for the way to add a new zipper pull, NOT the slider.
@@melaniebruno4632 Are you referring to the actual tab that is attached to the slider that one holds on to while pulling the slider up and down?

How do I send a picture
@@susancollings9825 Do you have a cell phone? If so take a photo of the smashed pull and there should be an option to share via email.
