Because to trigger the actual compression, you just want the signal, not the actual track. If you sidechain it straight to the kick, next tweak you do on the kick is going to affect the compression but if you just have the trigger be a copy of the signal then the ducking compression does its job regardless of any further adjustments on the kick.

I'm experiencing lots of lag when side-chaining with the Pro C-2, there's suddenly latency issues all over the place. I researched a bit and it seems it's a commonly known issue with Logic and side-chaining with Fabfilter. If it's not too much trouble - How did you manage to avoid that issue?
dude you do not have to create an auxiliary track in logic. logic has the side chain option in the upper right hand corner, to simple place on the track that you want to compress.

Why do you have to bus the kick to an auxiliary channel? Why can’t you just select the side chain to be the kick track specifically

I can't see that Side chain Option at the top of the Pro C2 plugin...I use Logic Pro only...Does anyone have similar problem?
