the show did get better, and they mellowed down the incest and love traingles and I think fixed the flaws that the book had. But the book stands pretty good on itself as well, I just think the show did have a more plausible storyline. Like when Clary and Sebastian were connected instead of Sebastian and Jace, it really showed their sibling bond and gave a very good insight of what they could've been. I personally like the show better, I do think they did the story better, the dialogue could be better though.

Mayfia I feel like the show corrected some flaws the books had? (The characters being way too sexualised in the books despite being underage/everyone being of age in the show, the overwhelming amount of incest/no incest, “not like other girls trope”/none of that) plus, the show actually gives their lgbt characters screentime, vs the book giving them like 1 page a book, we actually get to see downworlders and their side of the story.... I could go on. I will definitely say that certain aspects of the book are better than the show, and anyone is free to say that. But the show is not absolute trash once you get past the first season :)
The show got worse and worse as it went on. It was torture to finish it, and I often wonder why I did.

the tv show was good, but after you read the books you notice all of the flaws in the show.
A Nielson I watched the show after I completely forgot what happened in the books (like I remembered only the main plot of the 1st book) and for me the show was really good. However, I have no clue how it is compared to the books 🤷🏽♀️

Cassandra Clare can write (expressly Shadowhunters) until I die and I will never stop reading and rereading her books.
Evelyn Hugo is the most realist fictional character I have every met/read.
Harry Potter is the best series; that when I list my favorite books I can’t even say Harry Potter because people should just know and it’s on a whole different level!

The Shadowhunter Chronicles is legit my favourite book universe ever. And I completely understand why people think TMI is the least enjoyable out of the three series (and I can agree to some extent), but I feel so sentimental and protective over TMI because TMI was literally the series that made me fall in love with reading. I HATED reading before I picked up TMI.

Personally I'd like to see Cassandra Clare try and write something outside of the Shadowhunters world for once. All on her own and not co-written or anything, so that series she has with Holly Black doesn't count. I'm happy for fans of the Shadowhunters series because they're a fandom that has continually received new content over the years, but as someone speaking from the outside, I think it'd be interesting to see Cassandra Clare step out of her Shadowhunters sandbox. I'm sure she's grown as an author since the first book came out, but I imagine she'd grow even more in a new world.

Yes, Jace is super annoying, but the Shadowhunters' Chronicles as a whole is PHENOMENAL! Who said that Tessa and Jem are boring? TID is one of my favourite series of ALL TIME!

I’m not going to lie... I loved the shadowhunters tv show.... it is a terrible book to tv adaptation but after a while I stopped comparing the two and I just think of them as separate entities... like obviously the tv show is ridiculous but in my opinion it’s like saying you like something that’s so bad it’s good. It was fun to watch and a lot of the lines cracked me up like no other. It was also an amazing way for me to bond more with some of my non-reader friends in a slightly bookish way.

The Lunar Chronicles is one of my absolute favorite series, and I think people need to take into consideration that Cinder was published in 2012 and YA has changed a lot in the last six years.

Omg the truly devious one is so relatable. I finally picked it up because Emma talked so much about it. I really enjoyed reading it and finished it today... the cliffhanger is the worst and I can‘t even get the sequel because I‘m on vacation.
And Cinder, the Lunar Chronicles is my fave series. But I feel the same about the love triangle in Mortal Instruments. At first I was like wait "What love triangle?" since it's not really that main of a focus point, but I loved your responses to the people. It was such a fun video and very different.
I’m reading Scythe for the first time atm, and i’m enjoying it so far, i’m almost at halfway and i can see how people think that rowan and citras relationship kinda comes out of nowhere but also i think when two people are thrust into a situation like that they’re going to gain feelings for each other because no one knows or understands what they’re going through also at the start they were told they couldnt have a relationship which is why they’re maybe reluctant to and why it seems so random when they do. Also i’m reading the mortal instruments for the first time and IM IN LOVE ♡
I can't say anything negative about any of the books that you love, because they usually turn out to be my favourites as well... I was laughing all throughout this video at both the roasts and your reactions ahahaha

I feel like the romance in Heretics Anonymous was important because it got both Michael and Lucy to be more understanding of other faiths and ideals. I feel like they helped each other grow.

I haven't read any of the Shadowhunter Chronicles besides the Mortal Instruments because I have this attitude that nothing will be better than the OG (original gang Sizzy Clace and Malec)
ahh... you should. Don't get me wrong tmi is my fav and always will be but the writing well maybe not so much clockwork angel but the other books gets so much better and ofc there are amazing characters as always bu TMI has a special place i n my heart.
Honestly, I love the Shadowhunters Chronicles a lot, and though I love TMI, I personally like TID better. For me, it was the characters that I preferred more, which makes sense, because I REALLY couldn't stand Clary and Jace. But Will, Jim and Tessa have a very special place in my heart and, yeah, I just love it, and I hope you do too!

yeah i agree on darkest minds, i was so bored while reading the 3 books, maybe i wasnt paying enough attention,,but i pushed myself to read them bc i own all 4 books and darkest legacy to read.. and i wanted to love the books,and some parts were good, but i found it so slow, and i rarely wanted to read, so maybe some day ill re read them. i can barely remember what i read tbh. maybe listening to audiobook didnt help too xD ohh yeah the ending, it was ok,, but im curious to see what happens next

I went into ace of shades expecting it to be like six of crows but as i read the book i felt so underwhelmed by it and how light it was and levi is very so soft (i was expecting kaz brekker 2.0).
