- Crowd-funding for football clubs is now a reality, thanks to Tifosy, the brain child of former investment banker, Fausto Zanetton, who found a way to rewarded supporters for their loyalty.

In Brazil it isn't rare to see clubs doing things like this. My club santa cruz for example, the fans helped to build the stadium in the 60s after the board asked to donate bricks,clay o even to go there and work, and this year we had an project called camisa 12, that the fans would donate money and the board would use it to sign and pay a player that would come to be the star of the team, since the club is in serious financial troubles and a great part of the money used to build the training ground came from fans that donate, or by selling products whose profit would go exclusively for that, while the club will pay a tribute for some fans that helped in a wall on the training ground. Another case is our rival nautico asked the fans to donate when they decide to reform their old stadium and play their matches onde again there instead of playing in the arena pernambuco, and even sold the old chairs of the stadium and there was a fan that bought one of the gates of the stadium. Also, the clubs aren't companies, so they don't have owners and the presidents are elected by the fans that pay for membership(socios), who also gets other benefits like discounts on tickets and products

This, if done properly, could be a way to bridge the gap between big and small teams. Producing quality homegrown players could finally end the stranglehold that big clubs have when it comes to getting the best young footballers...and this is coming from and Man United supporter. I'm all for this model of investing as it can actually work wonders for small teams.

Clubs have been crowdfunding since the formation of AF. In fact, Bundesliga's 50+1 allows for clubs to raise revenue through membership fees. That is in itself crowdfunding.

Norwich seem to be offering a lot in the deal according to this video. An 8% interest rate (Counting the 3% club credit which I assume would have been spent by supporters of the club anyway regardless) along with a chance of a 25% bonus is a lot for a loan in such a low interest market. I wonder what type of rate they would have gotten if they went to the bank with such a proposal.

Do a video on how the Scottish premier football league went from one of the best leagues to boarderline broke because of sky. Scottish teams regularly in the finals of European competitions, teams like hibs and Kilmarnock Dunfermline beating big teams such as Real Madrid or Dundee Utd having a 100% win rate over baraclona. When sky money came in to England, scotland never got and fell away while still holding massive passion and support. Massive clubs such as hearts Rangers Dundee Utd Dunfermline all going into administration despite thousands of fans still attending games
Bosman ruling played a big part too. Jim McLean at United was famous for making players stay at the club, but as soon as Bosman came along they could jump ship to the more lucrative divisions.
How about slashing player wages ?
