Thanks for the video! Loved the comparison. Just bought a 2005 Rincon with 200 miles on it. My first ATV so I’m still learning about it. You helped with that. Thing runs great but in cold temps it needs to warm up before it gets going! I’ve already dragged deer with it and now I look forward to using it for ice fishing here in Michigan. Thank you for the trail ride!
Great comparison video , just watched a new Dirt Tracks video of a Rincon with 136.000 kms / 85.000 thousand miles young guy bought new pretty amazing machines
Howdy. I just discovered your channel. I'm in Vermont also (northern Rutland Co). I just bought a 2007 Honda Foreman Rubicon 500. It's been used but not abused. I'm looking forward to getting it out soon. Hopefully it will be a good machine for me. Anyway, i enjoy your videos. Thanks.
Hey Jesse, glad you found the channel! The 2007 is a good year for the rubicons. They have stronger transmissions than the older style rubicons. I’m sure it’ll be a good machine for you.
@rockspowersports Thanks for the reply! That's good to know about the transmission. It seems to run good and everything works. The rear brakes need some work/adjustment as they don't work very well (not does the parking brake). Other than that, I'm very happy with it so far. If you were closer I'd bring it to you. Thanks again.
Spot on video rock. The hondas including the Rincon are pretty slow and slow top speed compared to other brands. The end of the video reminded me of when my friend had his Rincon on the road with my 01 sportsman 500ho. The sportsman had probably 15mph on it.
The oil cooled engines seem to be the most reliable. Simple push rod engine less things to worry and I'd rather the 5 speed footshift for super reliability.
You still have your old moto 4 200 Rock? That's the first video i ever watched of yours. You and your brother was comparing ig to a bayou 220 if I remember correctly. I've got a 87 moto 4 350. Fine machines.
We had two 500 ES 4x4s since brand new, in 2019 one burned to the ground during a controlled burn and the other one refuses to die with 5800 miles/ 9334 KM and clatters like crazy 😂😂
Those HondaMatic transmissions are an engineers dream, hydraulic pump driven variable swash plate, piston etc madness. I've read they're reliable but if it goes wrong, its nearly unfixable (outside sensors etc.) Great ride review as usual, I wonder if that lift kit on the Foreman was contributing to the rough ride.
Yes those transmissions have a lot going on… I really like the old Honda Rubicon 500 Hondamatic transmissions as far as smoothness and gear selection. However like you said when they go bad it’s almost the cost of another used wheeler to repair it. The lift in the foreman was certainly hurting the ride but even without it the Rincon is a much smoother ride than the foreman’s.
@@rockspowersports Great info! I really never looked at the honda's as the rated HP was so much lower then other wheelers, but I can see now some of the reasons why they're so popular!
If you apply a light amount of front brake when you're climbing over those rocks in 4x4 it will make both front wheels turn, a diff lock of sorts. Try it sometime
I'd rather have no power steering, and more gears..... want 4x4 lockers! 2 wheel dig and 4x4, plus locking... straight axle... hmm duals in back! Awesome
You're right with the polaris power steering. I keep mine on med. On high its way to twitchy. Them Hondas are always great bikes. They all need to be red tho shouldn't be any other color. Lol
With the power steering models say you have a catastrophic issue and you cannot ride the quad back and you got to pull it with another one If the quad isn't running does that power steering make it harder to steer coming back then if you didn't have it at all?
This is easy. The Foreman is vastly superior. I had a Rincon that I bought new in 2003. What a joke. That 3-sp torque converter automatic was awful. No lockup, sucked what little power that motor made. Top speed was 48 mph (on gps). No low range.
neither one if they are both es, auto's ?..pure junk. and even on the trx500fm, the engine cases have a bad design for the oil drain bolt threads !!. junk too.
I miss these test drive Videos!
Hope you enjoy this one! I’ll try to incorporate some more on the channel.

Really love the old Honda rebuilds keep em coming!
Absolutely, have some more coming up.
@@rockspowersportswinter means 3 wheelers??? Lmao
Three wheelers shred in the snow

I like the look of the 500 more personally but I’d love to have either one.
I’d be happy to own either one myself!
Rincon. Dirt Trax just did a video of my buddies Rincon that has over 100,000kms.
I’ll have to check that out!
Yeah buddy is from NB too! Tough machines
126 .000 to be exact
I enjoy the test drive/ comparison vids.
Glad to hear that!
Enjoying the videos mate 👍
Thanks, Glad to hear it!
Enjoying ur videos brother, i feel bad for y’all up north , it’s still in the 80s here in Mississippi lol
Glad you enjoy the videos! I’m happy for the cooler weather, 80’s is too hot for me.

Some snow up there already? Great video. Love Hondas
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video. And yes we did get a little snow.
Been watching you forever. My favorite video yet! Love the test drive vids too. Own a 2001 Honda Rubicon 1200 miles
Wow, thanks I’m glad you enjoyed these test rides. Big fan of those rubicons!
Awesome test rides!
Both are great machines.
Great video I plan on buying a new Honda but not sure what I want so all information is helpful
Thanks, glad to give you some insight on at least these 2 machines,

They’re not the fastest machines out there but most Honda owners aren’t looking for speed anyways.
The oil cooled engines seem to be the most reliable. Simple push rod engine less things to worry and I'd rather the 5 speed footshift for super reliability.
The foot shift does remove more electronics, less problems.
Youre killing me here i need to sleep. Skip a nap today i need to sleep garentie i watch in the morning
Howdy duty rock

Foreman 500 manual shift . Nothing to go wrong. My 2015 runs like the day I purchased it.
The 680 rincon is far superior to the 650 I absolutely love my 680 rincons and I’ve owned pretty much every atv out there
Do you think the suzuki king quad you drove a while back is a better choice?
I personally prefer the Kingquad engine/trans combo.. I think this Rincon is a better/smoother riding machines though.

There's a video out there with a guy that has an 09 Honda Rincon with a 126000 km
Yeah, Dirt Trax just uploaded the video
You're right with the polaris power steering. I keep mine on med. On high its way to twitchy. Them Hondas are always great bikes. They all need to be red tho shouldn't be any other color. Lol
Hey Rock, what is your impression of a Yamaha wolverine?
Do you work on any Honda Recon's ? They are extremely reliable, especially if a manual shift unit
Have you ever seen many transmissions issues with the Honda quads. I’m curious if Honda transmission is any more durable than the CVT.
With the power steering models say you have a catastrophic issue and you cannot ride the quad back and you got to pull it with another one If the quad isn't running does that power steering make it harder to steer coming back then if you didn't have it at all?
Yes you are able to steer , but alot harder especially a sharp turn. the ps motor itself creates alot of resistance
Snow already!
Yeah.. winters coming quick!
394👍 😉 just binge watching this afternoon because it’s cold outside today
My uncle has a 96 fourtrax 300 purrs like a kitten, he’s actually in holland vt not far from you!
That automatic transmission would scare me !! I would probably be very expensive to replace
Any machine would work better with aftermarket tires
Rubicon. Lower 1st gear.
Rincon is good for gravel roads and farmers.
Both made for different jobs
Absolutely.

i would take a 350 honda over them 2 junk bikes
neither one if they are both es, auto's ?..pure junk. and even on the trx500fm, the engine cases have a bad design for the oil drain bolt threads !!. junk too.
I’m sure they do fine.
