The women of Chad apply other ingredients to the Chebe such as cloves to name one additional ingredient and fragrance oil. They also apply oil to the base of their hair which can serve as a barrier for the scalp to avoid irritation. The majority of the mixture seems to go on the ends which can actually prevent breakage. Everyone selling these DIY Chebe products should do their research in order to provide their customers with the best experience. What's good for one person might be damaging to another.

C I get concerned about us using the Chebe in correctly. Remember, in African video, they didn't put that on there scalp at all nor did they put it on there edges or nape. They applied it to braids like every 3 days or so but only on the braid not the ladies scalp. We took it upon ourselves and made tea rinses and oils. Now wonder this stuff can irritate the scalp. Actually that's why I never got on band wagon for this Chebe. I kinda wanted to try but my Spirit man said don't. Cuz he knows I love to address my hair but most importantly my scalp! If ur scalp is not in tack then neither shall ones hair. Thank u for sharing ur experience. My rule is if my scalp doesn't like product then neither do my hair and skin. The product must be able to go on my skin b4 I put anything on my hair! I have been growing my hair for 4years now! I am not playing and I am not putting everything in my hair.

The women of the Chadian tribe only apply chebe to the length of their hair and not the scalp. They alternately layer it with water and oil to help it coat the hair strands better. The chebe strengthens the hair and helps to seal in the moisture. This is why their hair doesn't break. The portions where it isn't applied mainly the 2 braids in front stay short. The some in that village have thigh length hair. Those braids barely reach their jaw. When they were asked if their long hair was genetic, they replied 'NO'. These braids are taken down and combed every 5 days. They always wrap up their braids in a bun and over a shawl over their head. It's regimen practiced consistently over a long period of time that's responsible for their extremely long hair. They don't apply chebe on their scalp because it can make the scalp itchy. And they don't apply it to the braids in front because it being a powder can make the hair look dirt. Note these are black women. I for one will definitely use chebe in my hair combined with henna as I have fine hair to avoid breakage. But one needs to find what works for them.

I use Chebe and it does not itch or scratch my scalp at all. You have to mix it with organic olive oil and peppermint oil etc. you might be allergic to this powder and also look into where you are buying your particular Chebe from. Make sure it’s the real, authentic thing. Also go lightly with it.

I just experienced another setback with chebe 5 years apart! The first time I didn't mind the powder on my scalp and guess what my scalp got irritated to the point I went to the doctor. It didn't itch but I had some hair loss. 5 years later I wanted to give another try and this time I avoided my scalp and as the lady said in the video , it will sill travel to your scalp somehow. Same result. My scalp got irritated . The parts that I made while applying Chebe have changed to some type of alopecia. I can cover them but it is like the parts are there to stay for some times. I think I am one of the unlucky one . Maybe there is something with my scalp. Otherwise to be honest it does moisturize my hair.

@@caebby71 Hi, no it is too early to notice results I have only been taking the supplements for a month and the hair can take time to grow back, the dermatologist told me it was because of a lack of iron and not does not blame the chébé, he did not know this product and its effects, he gave me a cortisone cream for the peladic plaque but nothing in local application for the areas of loss elsewhere on the skull so I do not even know if its treatment will completely resolve the problem since depending on the type of alopecia it is supposed to give you a specific treatment but it still has to be properly diagnosed! So I'm doing baths with essential oils and I bought a lotion for regrowth, I'll see if it works. But I advise you to go see a dermatologist or at least a naturopath maybe it can be helpful for you! Yes I stopped the chebe for the duration of the treatment, but then I would put it back on the lengths because my hair was magnificent afterwards I would just be careful not to let it run onto the head during application because I left it on overnight as a mask and it reached my scalp

@@floradelsol9042It’s meant to be applied to the ends and brushed through too be sure to avoid the scalp. Also when they apply Chebe to their hair they add shea butter to their scalp. Chebe has to be rinsed out really good followed by shampooing, and moisturize the scalp with an oil of your choice, IMO the problem with the itching is leaving it in your hair too long and not washing it out really good.

@Nashwa she's talking about an itchy scalp after applying chebe. That's what the video is about, and she also said that it travels down to the scalp when it's applied to the ends. Anything that's applied to the hair will travel the scalp. Maybe it's just not made to be applied to the hair.

@@MSBLADE1970no it’s because many people don’t do their research. Everyone has different hair but the practice does work if done right. People use shampoo and conditioner but you really shouldn’t use these products too much because it isn’t really natural. It could also depend on the shampoo and conditioner you use but it’s best to avoid any that have chemicals in it or alcohol which dries and strips you hair of it’s natural oils. That’s why I don’t use shampoo anymore because it helps my scalp and hair grow longer and I might use conditioner depending on how dirty my hair is. But these Nomadic women hardly wash their hair. In America many black people are brain washed into think and believing a lot of these facts and information from European white men and women. A lot of these “black” hair products that’s meant for us are made by white companies. It’s best to use natural products instead and you apply Chebe to the ends not the scalp I tried to see if they wash their hair and some information says they hardly ever wash their hair but if they do they only use a bit of water and some kind of natural conditioner.
