I'm from Southern Chad, and we don't use chebe for the most part. The majority of hair type in the south will be 4c, whereas in the north where the women in your images are from the hair type is more like a 4a. In the south you'll find that hair threading is the most common method for stretching hair. The ladies in the north are Muslim and Arab-mixed for the most part and will have their hair covered regardless. I hope this helps a bit.
I'd say it's more like 3c? 3c is still textured but has the circumference from a pencil to a marker. 4a isn't as silky as those women's hair looks either.
@@epic7224 yes, I think there may be 3c hair in there as well. Most of these women have been following a chebe regimen since childhood, and wouldn't be cutting their hair often. Long hair is an essential element in the beauty aspect of their culture.
Chebe is a hit here in Uganda. But because of the mess associated with the chebe powder, most of our hair care producers who deal in chebe powder have ventured into chebe butter. This is a mix of chebe powder and other butters, I believe it's shea butter. And it's the bomb, there is no mess at all but with the benefits of chebe powder. After shampooing, one applies the chebe butter to soaking wet hair then plat. The braid can last a day but it works best when it's kept for about a week. The results are awesome, I've experienced hair growth, moisturized hair and my curls always pop after taking down the braid. I highly recommend chebe butter if one can come across it.
Lorna Asima, I’m also from Uganda 👋🏾. I’ve been wanting to try the Chebe butter but I’ve always wondered whether it acts as a sealant just like Shea butter. Thanks for sharing though.
@@tanaicannon5843 my supplier told me that there was no need to deep condition hair before applying the chebe butter. So I simply shampoo my hair, then apply the chebe butter on wet hair then plat. It saved me lots of time, coz even with no deep conditioning, my hair is thriving. But like once or twice a month, she recommends using henna paste which can be left in the hair for afew hours, or over night before shampooing. I guess this acts as the deep conditioner.

I have 4c hair. Started using Chebe. My hair grew more than 1 inch in a month. Lessen mess by using less Chebe and add leave in condition to your oil. It really works. Makes hair super soft. Little breakage.
Ive used Chebe powder for 6 months straight. It most definitely keeps the hair strong. I used it apart of the loc method. It helps with less breakage for length retention. I just kept my hair in twists and would use it everytime I washed my hair which was every three weeks. I didn't apply it twice a week, I just left it on until it was time to wash. It blended in with my hair, it didn't flake because I mixed it in with Peppermint Black Jamaican Castor Oil and African Pride leave in conditioner. When I would untwist for washing, my hair would still feel moisturized. I have 4c midback length hair. Edit: you dont necessarily have to braid the hair, just twist it and pin it up if that is easier for you.
1. You need to put smaller sections 2. Reapply, wet your hair, take your time cuz you're using oil so there's a barrier over your hair from the time before when you first applied 3. When you wash it out use a clarifying shampoo, take your time, deep condition after. I saw a video of the Chadian women using the chebe power and I don't think they wash it out. The video I saw showed how to they toast the herbs and the grind them down. Then they mix the power with oils and what ever scent the woman wants. Then the take down the braids and comb water and the mixture on the hair. They completely saturate the hair with water and the mixture. They comb and pack the hair. Once completely combed and saturated they then braid the hair and put it up in an upswept hair style. Not once did the narrator say that they washed the hair. I tried it, but has my stains very easy I didn't use it long. I tried the chebe mixed into a salve like product. My hair was very soft, but it changed the color of my already colored hair.
So the ch- in Chebe is actually pronounced a lil bit like this arabic letter خ or like this hebrew letter (ח). Pretty much think of it like you're trying to cough up phlegm at the start of the word!
I let my Chebe powder infuse in some avocado oil for about 8 weeks, strained it then used it to make a whipped shea butter. Much more practical use for me and I will say, I've seen a positive change in the strength of my strands. I use it as a sealant and I love it! God Bless You for your efforts, lol!
Thank you for such a detailed and entertaining review of Chebe powder. I can’t wait to give it a try someday! Also I like your brain and...geez you’re so beautiful. Anyway, bye! ❤️
The best way to use chebe powder is to infuse it in oil and incorporate the oil into a butter or something similar and use as a sealing product or leave in conditioner. Long term use will decrease split ends and you’ll notice little to no shedding.
I use Chebe and it has strengthens my hair tremendously in turn allowing my hair to grow long instead of excessive shedding and breakage. I have 4c hair. When I dye my hair I do a Chebe treatment for a couple of days stops the breakage and shedding. I dye my hair blonde. Chebe truly works. The lack of breakage and shedding strength the hair to be able to grow long healthy hair. Alittle mess equals long beautiful healthy hair. It’s worth it to me🦋🌹✈️❤️🦄

@@brendahimmie8377 no not really unless you wind the thread really tightly and use small sections, which can cause damage to the scalp and hair. I thread on moisturized, detangled and dry hair with the thicker black thread I get from the African market, it doesnt snag my hair. I make about 8 to 10 sections and I dont leave any gaps between the loops. Anything else you want to know?
My mom found your channel and said ‘omg this girl is like you, like your personality and everything and it’s hilarious,’ and I agree. I’m here for the content, I’m loving the hair, I subscribed lol 🤣🤣💜💜
I’ve tried the chebe power in my hair before and was MISERABLE 🗣! But I tried something different that actually works very well. I made a Shea butter and kinda diffused some of the chebe into the warmed Shea, kinda like tea. Mixing that together and putting that on my wet hair, I stopped seeing breakage and I’m definitely gaining inches. I’m not sure if it’s the chebe or the Shea butter, but it’s working wonders for me without changing my hair texture and adding SO much moisture. Maybe trying that could work for u? U definitely won’t have the shower problems or the messes that the oil and powder leave everywhere and I legit just apply it as a leave in. Update: I see online that other ppl have tried this method and sell chebe butter. U can probably buy that online and see how it works for u
Chebe powder is for length RETENTION.It retains the length you have without hair loss or anything like that. From what I know, chebe powder does not promote hair growth,it retains the growth you have.

You are so funny. Thank you for the video. I’ve been using Chébé powder for almost a year and here are a few things I do. First I do the traditional Chad method and I now use gloves...I got tired of cleaning the herb from under my nails. I DO NOT put my hair in the 4 sections they do due to the plaits are just really thick and that’s to much for me. I section for what works for me and I don’t have them tight (like the Chadian women do)...I only have them tight along the shaft. It is very messy to use but I do love using this product. It’s not for everyone one. Have noticed less shedding...I still have it but not a lot...I also still have a bit of breakage BUT I just started using the Jet Cream and I’ve noticed the breakage is a lot less now...my hair also looks shinier and less frizzy with using the Jet Cream (and evoo mixture). My hair also looks thicker and I HAVE retained length. I use this twice a week. I also keep my hair wrapped ALL THE TIME. So again this is not for everyone.

First and foremost you are so cute! Beautiful eyes and amazing cheek bones. Secondly, you are hilarious! I love your sense of humor. lastly, i've been using this powder under my faux locks with shea butter, castor oil, glycerin and my hair stays really moisturized while braided. It is messy. I can't imagine using it in my normal hair routine.
I use a Chebe oil hair mask by Hollywood Hair Bar, but I use it when my hair is blown out and braided down for a crochet style or sew in weave. I guesss it did well? My hair has definitely retained length and is pretty soft.
Literally sitting here waiting for the Shea Butter I use to finger detangle to melt into my eye and blind me. I buy saline specifically to use for my wash days.
Yes! You finally tried Chébé powder. I agree, the Chadian practice of using it isn’t practical in our society. Instead, I make oil out of it and use it as is or I mix it in my deep conditioner. It works amazing either way for me.
Omg i’m so glad I found your page you are quirky as me and nerdy as me love it. I love This powder. It grew my hair so soft strong and long. I was upset that I stop my regime and I really need it because I am coming of age and my hair has changed. Thank you for making this video. Keep doing what you’re doing I’m a big fan
Your genetics determine whether your hair will grow or not. I don't know why people get fooled by products that will supposedly grow hair. You either got it or you don't. No kilograms of butter or anything else will grow hair that is not genetically meant to grow. 💀 Now let me get the hate for speaking that undiluted truth. 😁
@Miss Lilith Thank you. And many black women always fall for any products claiming mega hair growth. 💀 For example, my hair grows fast and long because my mum's hair is the same, as is my grandmother's, though my dad's hair literally does not grow. I thank the good Lord for sparing me so I didn't get his hair. 😉
@@czarinaczar Some of you are just miserable. The Chadic women have stated that their bangs and edges, are not long because they do not apply the product there. The Ghanaian, women also have long healthy hair due to coconut oil, are you going to attribute that to some mythical Arab ancestor.
I live in the region and last time I got the ingredients here it was very cheap. The companies who sell it probably hike up the price due to shipping, packaging etc. Let me say though, chebe itself does not grow hair (as it’s not applied to the scalp). It seems to work by allowing to retain moisture and stretch the hair, which you can easily do at home by stretching you hair and applying a heavy sealant after moisturizing such as grease (which they seem to use as well in their chebe mixture if you check the videos)
I tried it as closely to the way the women of Chad uses it as I could and it isn't convenient. Soooo I infused the herbs into a butter with essential oils and other stuff. I like it this way 👍🏿😊
Aww, I am really glad you gave it a try! I am still obsessed with my chebe routine, but I agree that style is not for us 😂 I needed much smaller braids and I wear them in a bun and then braid out when its time to refresh. In any regard, Fluff nugget is thriving, and is looking so thick YAY ❤️

Too bad he didn't believe his black genes was so gorgeous to reproduce his own seed. I have 4C hair too and I LOVE her funny, creative educational content with "keeping it REAL".
I can say how much I appreciate a person with my exact hair type doing things I’m afraid to do my hair. Thank you❤️❤️
I'm not scared to do it I just don't want to steal everyone's thunder😉. Kidding, scared and too tired
I did the exact same thing and my hair loves it. I also watched the video as well and they do not wash it out.
That makes so much sense. Maybe they were born with 4c hair but the powder stretches their hair overtime??? So cool
Wait I want to watch this video 🥺
Plus they use a lot of oil
SHE SAID 80%!! I low key always expect her to do it when she described her hair and she just doesn't anymore
She's right about English being the Wild, Wild West of languages. Chebe could be pronounced 'chubby' for all we know.
It’s “chay-bay” I think
🤣🤣🤣🤣 this is so true and hilarious!!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
So the ch- in Chebe is actually pronounced a lil bit like this arabic letter خ or like this hebrew letter (ח). Pretty much think of it like you're trying to cough up phlegm at the start of the word!
Chebe is prounced just like the first part of shea butter. So it sounds like (Shay.....bay). That's how the women of Chad says it in the video.
Now THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKIN' ABOUT! !😆
Your method makes much more sense to me🌻
@@valerieneal2747 I just made it work for me, lol!
Thank you for such a detailed and entertaining review of Chebe powder. I can’t wait to give it a try someday! Also I like your brain and...geez you’re so beautiful. Anyway, bye! ❤️
"I like your brain"...... Yoooooo😂😂😂😂 me toooo
She's so creative and witty. Idec about chebe powder... I'm genuinely in love with her personality.
You are funny as hell without the extra and effects! I’m hollering, so glad you’re in my recommendations. 🤣💙 finally someone with my texture frfr.
It’s worth it to me🦋🌹✈️❤️🦄
How entertaining and artistically informative - a big undertaking to fill the shoes of a Danielle and you’re doing an amazing job at it. Thank you for not embarrassing our culture but for representing us pretty darn well actually 😂😂💜👑
Oh I love this Dani. Do more! I'm Ghanaian and I love the African treatments and techniques that my mom used when she was growing up in the village lol my hair flourishes, I grew it to waist length 3 times. Keeping hair stretched is major!
Mostly threading and chunky braids. I do twists now cause they're easier to style and wear out
@ Baaba Annor..do the roots of your hair get properly stretched with African threading? Do you mind sharing a little about your process please?
What products do you use for waist length growth? 💕👀
just another Ghana girl stopping by to say hi!♥️
@@brendahimmie8377 no not really unless you wind the thread really tightly and use small sections, which can cause damage to the scalp and hair. I thread on moisturized, detangled and dry hair with the thicker black thread I get from the African market, it doesnt snag my hair. I make about 8 to 10 sections and I dont leave any gaps between the loops. Anything else you want to know?
You really remind me of my baby sister. I hope she can be confident in her beautiful 4C like you are. So glad I found your page!
Your hair has gotten so thick! The Ayurveda is definitely working. I use chebe and just do a protective style and wear a turban or slap.
I'm an OG, and I missed the deeper voice and earthquake editing when you said "80 percent", but love and support you evolving and being yourself. Your skin and eyebrows are still goals. Love ya 🥰
You are a whole mood. I actually laughed out loud when the clip bounced off.
Pleeeaaasssee give us a skin regime video. We need that YESTERDAY!!
I didn't braid my hair in those big chunky braids at all! I did individual braids so I could wear my hair out. Comfort to your lifestyle is the key! Yes keep it up your way❤
You are so funny.
Your skin is GAWgeous! Drop the skincare routine PLEASE for us mere mortals! :-)
"the Chadian-Chedian? women have a different texture than me is this whhhyyy?ISTHISARELAXER?!"😩😩
I'm extremely satisfied to be your 200th like 😂
😂😂😂😂😂
LOL! Your are a doggone mess! 😭😭😭
Took me out! 🤣🤣🤣
When you appeared in the lil corner at the beginning of the video, I almost spit out my hot chocolate. 😅
Lmbo!
I couldn’t stop staring at Fluff Nugget! She’s sooo beautiful in her thrive! 🥰
This is my first time seeing your channel and I love your vibe. You’re not rambling and repeating yourself in some annoying ass voice. I love how you’re just being yourself and not trying to out diva the next diva. It is so encouraging to see a sister have fun and truly be informative. I think you are beautiful fun quirky and smart. Subbing 🌹
How long did you keep the styles?
I feel like she should have used a lot more cheebe stuff in her hair.
I was thinking the SAME THING respectfully!!!!
@@souluvlai it stretches out so you don’t need a lot
I’m going to go blind from being a natural and all the product finding some way in to my eyeball every time
Literally sitting here waiting for the Shea Butter I use to finger detangle to melt into my eye and blind me.
Try Eritrean tesmi butter on your hair then braid it for a month I swear that is how every Eritrean grow there hair
Where do you get it?
Your genetics determine whether your hair will grow or not. I don't know why people get fooled by products that will supposedly grow hair. You either got it or you don't. No kilograms of butter or anything else will grow hair that is not genetically meant to grow. 💀
Now let me get the hate for speaking that undiluted truth. 😁
@Miss Lilith Thank you. And many black women always fall for any products claiming mega hair growth. 💀
For example, my hair grows fast and long because my mum's hair is the same, as is my grandmother's, though my dad's hair literally does not grow. I thank the good Lord for sparing me so I didn't get his hair. 😉
Where can we find it??
@@czarinaczar Some of you are just miserable. The Chadic women have stated that their bangs and edges, are not long because they do not apply the product there.
The Ghanaian, women also have long healthy hair due to coconut oil, are you going to attribute that to some mythical Arab ancestor.
Your personality is 🔥 it comes through the camera so well ! love your sense of humor & bringing fun to natural hair ☺️
"YOU DIED"
Me: Literally dying of laughter
I literally said, "girl, that's me allll day". 🤦♀️🤦♀️
Happened to me and my clip flew in the toilet 💀💀💀
OMG 😲 yes. That's me too
I’m loving your odd sense of humor!! You make me feel normal 😂🤣😂 and you’re freakin beautiful
"When you think it's all gone, rinse two more times" 😂😂😂😂
Maybe try Ghassoul Clay, My hair loves it
I live in the region and last time I got the ingredients here it was very cheap.
I saw Star Puppy with Chebe in the title and I had to click immediately
Right!!!!! Cause I ordered mine last month but hesitant to use it 🤷🏾♀️
RIGHT i been commenting about it all year
@@intelligent429 Same! It's been sitting on the shelf for months.
100!
I tried it as closely to the way the women of Chad uses it as I could and it isn't convenient. Soooo I infused the herbs into a butter with essential oils and other stuff. I like it this way 👍🏿😊
Can I just say that not only are naturally beautiful but also naturally funny as heck. You could bring sunshine out on the cloudiest of days. 😊 Tfs
This is my first time ever knowing of your existence. I haven't even started watching the video yet but your brief commentary and your introduction alone I am now a new subscriber. Love the personality!❤
Chebe USA makes a chebe oil cream without the gritty particles. For those who like the powder you can add it.
I have the oil. The bottle says it can be used as a hot oil treatment or added to shampoos or conditioner. It’s very heavy so you might not want to put it directly on your scalp.
I love you. That’s all I came here to say. If I ever have a YT channel or make a video I wanna harness my inner weirdo in the same joyful way you do.
You should get a paint tarp to cover your floor. I’ve been using them when dying my wigs and have not had any mishaps!
Your skin is so gorgeous you dont even need any make up! It's so flawless ❤ And your hair is such goals 😊❤
Loooooooooool at the clip 😭 also your skin looks fantastic! 😁
Girlllllllll the thickness on these braids is wow
Hey Starpuppy! Nicole from 🇿🇲 Zambia(From Africa) with a somewhat similar hair pattern as yours.
How I use my Chebe power is by adding it to my Shea butter and using it as a leave in after my wash. Trust me it works some real magic!
Also love your content xx
I'm so in love with StarPuppy. Beautiful, intelligent, confident, well spoken. You are everything I aspire to be!
Same here 🙌🏾she’s the best
9:14 dude she’s so pretty
I Am Based In Nigeria for now...This Product Chebe Powder And Kar Kar Oil Is A Game Changer As I Am So Happy I Found A Woman That Sells These Products. I started my hair growth journey on 05/06/2023.
your hair has grown SO MUCH. So proud of you! Can't wait to get some merch
“I speak English, anything goes.” Is such a mood lol.
Hey try bentonite clay. You don’t have to leave it in. It has done miracles for my hair.
Do you make a paste
Ok I have to double comment because ur hair has truly flourished girl. It is so thick.. I have the hair density u used to have and cannot wait to try everything you did to achieve thickening and hair growth 😊
But the head wraps/ caps were cute tho! But I feel you on not being able to wear your hair out. Your hair looks gorg! 😍
I love your sense of humor😁🌼 and I'm excited for this to become a series. Hopefully dance fever is contagious I really want to get over my fear of dancin infront of peeps
Seeing you dance makes me happy for some reason😁😂. Fluffnugget looks so much thicker by the way.
You are so goofy and bright and lovely, how have I only just been recommended your channel 😭🥺
Tried making it into Chebe oil. That way its easier to apply and rinse out.
Yeaa I'm still struggling with my hair and watching you really helps me trying to accept my shrinkage.
I wanted to try chebe but I use cassia powder and heard it was similar plus cheaper so it wasn’t necessary.
Your hair is really flourishing! Skin stay on glow and your vibe is so refreshing🥰 So dope!
