Soy peruana estuve de vacaciones en Argentina unos días en 2019 y comí excelente: asado, empanadas, pizza, milanesa con papas fritas y con puré, mate, pastas como ravioles, helados y pomelo en jugo y gaseosa. Qué gastronomía para más deliciosa y eso que los peruanos somos exigentes con la comida. 🤗🤗
Es rica en sabor pero parece ser una pizza hecha con pan estilo foccacia. La pizza de Chicago que dicen ser del sur de Italia para mi es la mejor. Una cosa si necesito espresar, como el vino Argentino Malbec, no existe otro. Mucho respeto.
Solo puedes decir eso si haz viajado todos los paises del mundo y en cada uno haz probado una pizza. De lo contrario tu comentario carece de fundamento. Another comment. There are two kinds of pizza in Argentina. One is pizza molde o media masa, which is the one shown in this video. The other is called "pizza a la piedra" which is thin and crispy. I like more the second one.
Lodbrok that one, the "al molde" is more thick and is less crispy (like a thin bread), and the other "a la piedra" is thin and very crispy. But you can get any tops with any of them

Nuestra cocina es un orgullo, y lo digo como profesional gastronomica, tenemos una cocina super variada llena de platos que en su mayoria fueron vienendo con las olas de inmigrantes, pero a los cuales les damos un toque autoctono. Y por supuesto, el asado es nuestro orgullo.
Soy salteña, aparte de las empanadas nuestros platos típicos son la humita* y el tamal* que no son mismo: la humita lleva choclo molido y queso de cabra mientras que el tamal es a base de harina de maíz con relleno de carne y papa. Platos muy típicos y deliciosos. Los invitamos a conocer el norte argentino!

Que agasajo y emoción para mi como Argentina ver un documental hecho por un extranjero tenemos una cultura tan hermosa que enamora, quien venga a nuestra tierra se va con ese gustito que va a permanecer de por vida en el paladar y en el corazón de quien la haya visitado, seguramente se te habrá pasado muchas cosas como he leído en comentarios de mi gente, como el cordero patagónico, el fernet y miles de cosas más pero estoy segura de que no será la única vez que nos visites. Datos: -Un relleno de empanada muy común es el de jamón y queso, que ningún porteño te puede decir que no le gusta. Además, la gran mayoría de las veces, los rellenos de carne suelen también incluir huevo y cebolla. Algunas personas incluso les ponen aceitunas. -Muchos atacan la pizza directamente con las manos y la boca a pesar del tremendo grosor que suelen tener (me incluyo en esto), posiblemente por ya estar acostumbrados a esto. Aunque naturalmente, uno usa cubiertos si es que quiere mostrarse refinado ante una dama. Además, hay que destacar que hay por lo menos el doble de opciones para pizzas acá que las que ofrecen para empanadas, al punto que el cantante Alfredo Casero le dedicó una canción a esto, "Piza conmigo" (aunque lo del dulce de batata es obviamente un chiste XD).

I'm so happy you enjoyed Argentina's food, it is a huge part of our culture, as it is for every country I guess, but in Argentina's case, our food (idk if you have noticed) is meant to share and enjoy in company of friends and loved ones, for instance the mate is a rather " intimate" thing to share, you only do it with ppl you trust and love, and also, as a sign of friendship. As an Argentine, congratulations on this video. It is faithful to what we actually eat and actual typical restaurants and not the kind of video where they show supposedly typical places that no local has ever been to. (We have such a vast and varied culture and ways that of course some things are gonna be left out, it is silly to complain about that)
One difference in the beef vs the US is that in The US we finish our beef on grain and then hang the carcass for a time to age . The beef I had in Argentina was grass fed , butchered and sold immediately . They cut the meat by muscle group like Mexicans and most of latin America does so you may not recognize certain cuts . But the biggest difference is that for Argentinos , the asado is almost a religious thing . Every home has one built in and they are much better than ours . They have a seperate place to heat coals and the grills I used were like angle iron and one side sits higher than the other . The meat can be moved around to high and low spots and they don't flare up because most of the fat runs down the grill to a trough . It is simple with just salt . If you like American food , you will like Argentinian food as well . It's meat , potatos , salad and french bread most of the time . Not much pork , lots of beef and chicken . Next to most of the grills they have an orno or clay oven for pizzas , empanadas , meat . Their charcoal is kind of like the mesquite we have here . Big chunks of coal . But in Argentina it is less than half of what we pay and the quality is excellent . And don't be in a hurry . They don't eat until 10 pm or later and will sit at the table for hours . I lived there almost 20 years ago and still miss the asado . Their other passion is soccer and they are crazy fans . Ask anyone in Buenos Aires , River o Boca ? and you will get an earfull . They are the two main teams in B.A . There are now places that sell and install Argentino BBQs in the states . Wish I had one .

Thanks a lot :) I did enjoy Fernet con Coca a lot, mostly when going out with friends, but forgot to mention it in the video! The minty taste with coke is an unexpected combo but it works quite well.
@@AnthonyValli The story is amazing. Fernet is beverage made with artichoke that in the old days was formerly a remedy made to help the liver. The italians use to drink some drops with the cofee after dinner. And that was it. But in Argentina there is a city named Cordoba, the second in the country and the one that receives all the young students from the northern and western provinces to study at the universities. Imagine the tremendous partys in the city (I enjoy them when I was young).. fiestas everywhere, funny people dancing into the most deep hours in the night... But there was only one problem: at 8 am they should be all at the university. The tale says that the solution came with a student from Catamarca province that brought the idea of mixing fernet and coke from his home. Everybody was with hangover in the mornings at the classroom but not him. And that is the secret: Fernet is the problem and the solution at the same time. You get drunk but the hangover is infinitely less. So you can drink, enjoy, dance and in the morning you will be fine. The end of the story is that those students returned to their provinces drinking fernet and spread that beverage all over the country. To have an idea of the massive consumption: In Italy they don´t believe that only in Cordoba they sell more than in the whole world. Maybe other can comment more on this, correct or whatever, but less or more, it is like that. PS:In the internet are stories about the origin. This one is the one I heard live in Cordoba about 35 years ago.

where is the ALFAJOR? they represent our childhood and when we eat them we travel to those times. Examples are Alfajores balcarce From mar del plata, Alfajores Glaseados (glazed) from Cordoba with membrillo , the Alfajores from Abuela Goya or Rapanui stuffed with berry jam , Havanna and Cachafaz (these ones are best and the more expensive ones). Also you got the common ones like Jorgito , Captain of the space , Fantoche and terrabusi !! Great job talking about our cousine and traditional dishes, we got plenty more but this things you showed are classical ones and very representative , hope you enjoyed your trip !

Argenti _nean_ , not Argentine. Argentine is the adjective to say "silvery". Argentinean is the country's inhabitant. they tend to mean the same, as the country is named after silver, but the inhabitant is named after the country, not the metal, so it's not the same adjective.
As a foreigner who have dealt with latin Americans for years, I prefer ARGENTINES. They're ARGENTINOS, so sounds more accurate, and even elegant, classy. They're not "argentinianos", argentinian or argentinean sounds generic and unimpressive, which doesn't go well with Argentine people's clear differences with their neighbors boliviANS, uruguayANS, braziliANS, paraguayANS. Argentines are different and have a very unique idiosincrasy and kind of break the stereotype of the latino. Even though recent governments seem eager to destroy what used to be a beacon of culture, arts and talent in the continent, turning it into just another 3rd world sh*thole. Argentine Is preferred worldwide, as an example, the movie "CHE, The Argentine".
ken diment :) Our economy is so unstable that prices will be obsolete in a month. You can get empanadas for a dollar, (decent) icecream cones for 3, a parrillada (asado) for 2 for about 30 dollars. Also, there's a variety of prices depending on the quality and place. These prices are from Buenos Aires (around Palermo where that icecream shop an empanada place are located).

Datos:
-Un relleno de empanada muy común es el de jamón y queso, que ningún porteño te puede decir que no le gusta. Además, la gran mayoría de las veces, los rellenos de carne suelen también incluir huevo y cebolla. Algunas personas incluso les ponen aceitunas.
-Muchos atacan la pizza directamente con las manos y la boca a pesar del tremendo grosor que suelen tener (me incluyo en esto), posiblemente por ya estar acostumbrados a esto. Aunque naturalmente, uno usa cubiertos si es que quiere mostrarse refinado ante una dama.
Además, hay que destacar que hay por lo menos el doble de opciones para pizzas acá que las que ofrecen para empanadas, al punto que el cantante Alfredo Casero le dedicó una canción a esto, "Piza conmigo" (aunque lo del dulce de batata es obviamente un chiste XD).

I'm so happy you enjoyed Argentina's food, it is a huge part of our culture, as it is for every country I guess, but in Argentina's case, our food (idk if you have noticed) is meant to share and enjoy in company of friends and loved ones, for instance the mate is a rather " intimate" thing to share, you only do it with ppl you trust and love, and also, as a sign of friendship. As an Argentine, congratulations on this video. It is faithful to what we actually eat and actual typical restaurants and not the kind of video where they show supposedly typical places that no local has ever been to.
(We have such a vast and varied culture and ways that of course some things are gonna be left out, it is silly to complain about that)

One difference in the beef vs the US is that in The US we finish our beef on grain and then hang the carcass for a time to age . The beef I had in Argentina was grass fed , butchered and sold immediately . They cut the meat by muscle group like Mexicans and most of latin America does so you may not recognize certain cuts . But the biggest difference is that for Argentinos , the asado is almost a religious thing . Every home has one built in and they are much better than ours . They have a seperate place to heat coals and the grills I used were like angle iron and one side sits higher than the other . The meat can be moved around to high and low spots and they don't flare up because most of the fat runs down the grill to a trough . It is simple with just salt . If you like American food , you will like Argentinian food as well . It's meat , potatos , salad and french bread most of the time . Not much pork , lots of beef and chicken . Next to most of the grills they have an orno or clay oven for pizzas , empanadas , meat . Their charcoal is kind of like the mesquite we have here . Big chunks of coal . But in Argentina it is less than half of what we pay and the quality is excellent . And don't be in a hurry . They don't eat until 10 pm or later and will sit at the table for hours . I lived there almost 20 years ago and still miss the asado . Their other passion is soccer and they are crazy fans . Ask anyone in Buenos Aires , River o Boca ? and you will get an earfull . They are the two main teams in B.A . There are now places that sell and install Argentino BBQs in the states . Wish I had one .

Thanks a lot :) I did enjoy Fernet con Coca a lot, mostly when going out with friends, but forgot to mention it in the video! The minty taste with coke is an unexpected combo but it works quite well.
@@AnthonyValli The story is amazing. Fernet is beverage made with artichoke that in the old days was formerly a remedy made to help the liver. The italians use to drink some drops with the cofee after dinner. And that was it. But in Argentina there is a city named Cordoba, the second in the country and the one that receives all the young students from the northern and western provinces to study at the universities. Imagine the tremendous partys in the city (I enjoy them when I was young).. fiestas everywhere, funny people dancing into the most deep hours in the night... But there was only one problem: at 8 am they should be all at the university. The tale says that the solution came with a student from Catamarca province that brought the idea of mixing fernet and coke from his home. Everybody was with hangover in the mornings at the classroom but not him. And that is the secret: Fernet is the problem and the solution at the same time. You get drunk but the hangover is infinitely less. So you can drink, enjoy, dance and in the morning you will be fine. The end of the story is that those students returned to their provinces drinking fernet and spread that beverage all over the country. To have an idea of the massive consumption: In Italy they don´t believe that only in Cordoba they sell more than in the whole world. Maybe other can comment more on this, correct or whatever, but less or more, it is like that. PS:In the internet are stories about the origin. This one is the one I heard live in Cordoba about 35 years ago.

where is the ALFAJOR? they represent our childhood and when we eat them we travel to those times.
Examples are Alfajores balcarce From mar del plata, Alfajores Glaseados (glazed) from Cordoba with membrillo , the Alfajores from Abuela Goya or Rapanui stuffed with berry jam , Havanna and Cachafaz (these ones are best and the more expensive ones).
Also you got the common ones like Jorgito , Captain of the space , Fantoche and terrabusi !!

As a foreigner who have dealt with latin Americans for years, I prefer ARGENTINES. They're ARGENTINOS, so sounds more accurate, and even elegant, classy.
They're not "argentinianos", argentinian or argentinean sounds generic and unimpressive, which doesn't go well with Argentine people's clear differences with their neighbors boliviANS, uruguayANS, braziliANS, paraguayANS.
Argentines are different and have a very unique idiosincrasy and kind of break the stereotype of the latino. Even though recent governments seem eager to destroy what used to be a beacon of culture, arts and talent in the continent, turning it into just another 3rd world sh*thole.
Argentine Is preferred worldwide, as an example, the movie "CHE, The Argentine".

ken diment :) Our economy is so unstable that prices will be obsolete in a month. You can get empanadas for a dollar, (decent) icecream cones for 3, a parrillada (asado) for 2 for about 30 dollars. Also, there's a variety of prices depending on the quality and place. These prices are from Buenos Aires (around Palermo where that icecream shop an empanada place are located).
