Depends on what make of M1A/M14 action and barrel you install in it. LRB, Smith, Fulton yeah maybe. I wouldn't waste money on a Springfield unless it was one that came from the real US arsenal in Springfield Mass.
Badass in that they're bad and ass. The MK14 has a critical design flaw; field stripping it throws off your Zero. It is also heavier than the M14 whilst retaining the same dogshit recoil impulse as the M14. The only meaningful difference is that there isn't any wood to fuck up your accuracy when the humidity changes.
I opted for the Archangel CQB stock, a lot cheaper but basically the same principle. It's the same stock used on the SOCOM 16 CQB but mine is the standard 22" barrel and it fits just fine.
You failed to mention, the installation of the Guide Rod Block that comes with every EBR chassis. It requires the removal of the flash hider and gas block assembly. The old Rod Block in replaced by the new one and has a crush washer and three bolts to mount it to the EBR frame. Without this part, you cannot fit your M1A in the chassis.
I own a Ruger Mini 14 Ranch Rifle and this field strip is almost exactly the same! Recently purchased a Springfield M1A EBR and very excited to shoot it at the range. Decided to review field strip videos before I need to clean :) I’m impressed how fast the bolt was put back into the receiver, I know personally it’s a very tricky process, sometimes takes me 5-10 minutes to get my bolt in my Mini 14 back into the receiver. So when I saw how fast you put it back in this video I started cheering like I was watching a sports event! Only thing I would recommend is getting a box of medical or nitrile gloves to help keep your hands clean.
I had one of those on two separate deployments to Iraq!! We were selected as the battalion PSD for the battalion commander so we had two of these for the platoon which was an infantry platoon anyways so it was easy for us to assume the role.
TH-cam doesn't like these type of videos. I'm going to shoot my SLR104 with Zenitco and my PBS1 Wolverine today since I have nothing better to do due to Covid19.
@Arm&Gun. I'm curious what happened to the two side screws that are supposed to go on the operating rod guide block? There should be a total of 3 screws securing it in the chassis. Did you just decide to omit them? If so why?
@@aopbraap3498 ustacticalsupply, the stock is $900 & then the goodies made it $1400 (sight mount,bi pod, ninja grip, full auto cut out cover, ebr tool) just got my m1a Friday (07/01/2022, $1800), leupold mk 4 scope $1100. 13:49 for anyone wondering, one of the screws holding the op rod block is a cunt hair shorter than the other 2. It is also painted white, but be aware. Nothing in the written instructions mentions it. The longer screws actually tighten the op rod to the guide, hence the binding that occurred.
great vid as always my guy, I have a suggestion for you channel though, have you ever considered setting up a discord server for your viewers/ subscribers?
Can you remove all the lower pic rails and stick a short piece at the fore end for a bipod? They look beefy and probably add a bit of weight up front and an already heavy barrel.
You could, but the bottom rail on mine doesn't run the entire length of the bottom. It only goes to the handguard. You wouldn't save much weight by putting a shorter piece there.
was it pretty simple to assemble the M305 with the Sage EBR chasis or were modifications required, if so what modifications. Also what is the final weight
You have to replace the oprod guide. It is provided with the Sage EBR chassis. This requires removing everything off the barrel to complete the installation. The chassis weighs about 4lbs. or so. Weight of the total system is typically 11lbs. - 15lbs. depending on final configuration.
So I'm putting this thing together is quite literally just switching the factory stock with the chassis? I mean obviously you have to put the top rail piece on and all that stuff, but that's just the final step
The type of sight will make a huge difference, but as is with the sage ebr for a full 22 inch barrel i have heard its around 11 pounds. I would guess his is slightly lighter.
I was looking at an M1, since it's still legal in Canada, and a fairly common round. I figured an M1 would be fairly cheap. Nope. Over $2,799 CAD. WTH?
joey dubbs76 in this case surprisingly inexpensive. You a pick up a kit for as little as $600 which is actually tremendous value for money. If your rifle is properly head spaced, (the Norinco’s have this issue more then occasionally) it improves handling but also accuracy tremendously.
One of the most badass rifles on the market today. Period.
HA Ha

Great now I know how to take apart a rifle I could never afford
the rifle is 600-700 (its a norinco he said) BUT the stock is 700 - 900. LOL
You can find them for $500 occasionally, (20” models usually). Obviously not the stock.
LilSaint001100 to be fair if you live in the US you’ll never get a norinco 🤣
Bloodreign137 it’s too bad because they are the only genuine M14’s being built. Original tooling although the head spacing is suspect.

That is a beautiful looking firearm!
Nice setup-I looked at a number of different .308 battle rifles and landed on the SOCOM 16.5. Next is the SAGE!!
One of my favorite rifles! Thanks for another great video! P.S. still looking forward to the 300 blk. Out 9in. Barrel. 👍 from Oregon.
Nickoli smith agreed! I personally think 9in barrels are ideal for .300 black. Would love to see A&Gs video!

You're killing me dude!
Can you remove all the lower pic rails and stick a short piece at the fore end for a bipod? They look beefy and probably add a bit of weight up front and an already heavy barrel.
Last I checked with Sage Int they had short sections of pic rail available, but I had to call as they do not list them on the web page.
You could, but the bottom rail on mine doesn't run the entire length of the bottom. It only goes to the handguard. You wouldn't save much weight by putting a shorter piece there.
This rifle's looks are something special
Ronson lighter fluid is the preferred trigger lube of champions.
I think the reason why the op rod was tight from that screw is it put too much pressure on the guide nut that the barrel and op rod goes through
Your videos are pushing me closer & closer to posting my own (Nowhere near as interesting as yours) Canadian collection
I bought one of these today
Does the ebr fit the socom length m1a or is there another model that fits

You've taken on of the most iconic battle rifles and turned it into this hideous erector set gun!
lock the trigger group to the recover first before installing the top rail......
That looks just like a mini-14, deja vu he !!!
Uhh no on the contrary, the Mini14 looks like this one. 😁
It's the other way around. The mini-14 is a scaled down clone of the M14/M1A in .223/5.56x45mm NATO.

So I'm putting this thing together is quite literally just switching the factory stock with the chassis? I mean obviously you have to put the top rail piece on and all that stuff, but that's just the final step
You have to replace the operating rod guide. That means you have to remove everything off the barrel forward of it to do it. Just did mine today.
Did you have any problems with fitting sage with m305?
Great rifle love its
Why is there picatinny above the pistol grip?
Night vision
Sage also makes one for the mini14
Doe this EBR chassis work with a 22 inch barrel?
The only M1A I would like to own but could never afford!! It looks so bad ass! Wonder How much does it weigh?

@@sakerminter With bipod, Sage detachable cantilever sight base and scope, you could easily be looking at a 15lbs. rifle.
Would I be able to drop in my m1a socom 16 in an ebr frame without issues?
Yes
Has the op rod guide been changed to put it in that chassis?
It has to be. You cannot install the M1A/M14 into the Sage EBR chassis without completing that step.
I was looking at an M1, since it's still legal in Canada, and a fairly common round. I figured an M1 would be fairly cheap. Nope. Over $2,799 CAD. WTH?

What is the benefit of the Sage?
anyone get the chassis for the heavy barrel or national match profile M1A?
It only fits standard and medium NM barrel
Didnt Sage stop to produce this EBR Chassis?
No. This is still in production.
You’re saying “Chassis” wrong. You don’t pronunce the s at the end. So it sounds like “Cha-see”
I was told not to remove the chassis once it was installed. Anyone else here that?
I want one of these so badly, if only I had money to blow right now.
I hope my 22" Barrel doesn't look Weird
Extremely complex disassembly for me.
A fake suppressor for that m1 would look cool
Real ones are even better.

As comments above mention. Video skips at least one important step. Sillyness
Is this not the "Chinese assault rifle" in fallout 3?
Not at all, that one is more similar to an AK pattern, the EBR is nothing like it
@@BlazeIsTheMajor I wondered why they called it the Chinese assault rifle instead of just putting a kalash in the game
