Thank you Aiden, lots of great information and pointers. Do yo have any input on how to set the view point of the eye i.e. get both eyes to look in the same direction or a subtle changes to where the eye is looking

Try to pay close attention to the amount of space in the sclera (white space of the eye) and make sure each eye matches there. If so then the pupil and iris will be more identical and looking in the right direction.
