They've had quite a nice features, at that time on EInk, which we wish the RMPP even has, like Split Screen. Nice device and company, it was...

I never owned a Quirklogic, but their headquarters were in Canada if I remember correctly (I believe in Alberta?), so as a Canadian it was cool to see someone closer to home getting into the Eink market. I loved the idea of the massive Quilla - it would be awesome for large meetings, and as a new teacher I would have loved to have one for my classroom 🤩😅!
It sucks to see any company go down, the more the merrier in the Eink world, I like seeing some variety in our options as customers. Competition leads to innovation as companies compete to produce the best or the cheapest product for their customer base. It's a shame they went out of business.

I am not only nostalgic of the Quirklogic Papyr, I am also still sad. Sad because even the Remarkable Pro doesn't have all the features the Papyr had.(like, no dictionary in the remarkable to look up word from text? What is that? The remarkable is nice, but feel "closed" and I don't get the same "vibe" the Papyr gave me when working on it). Like you mentioned in your video, Quirklogic really listened to it's customer, it was a fun an exciting moment every time we received a software update. So sad they went out of business. Still the best dedicated notetaking/pdf reader experience to me.

The touch screen/digitiser slowly died on me and there is nowhere to get these repaired. Shame, as I had started sideloading Android apps on it. Currently investigating swapping a screen from another compatible unit.....

You know if you could find somebody with the Sony tech - I am sure there are thousands now floating out there.

@@morningcoach had been using the Boox tab C, but I really like the rM Paper Pro! The larger size is nice, and I think the colors are sharper

@@morningcoach What do you think the odds are the reMarkable's new CEO will push Quirk like features or at least improve typing options/features?

Cool. I do think the Eink industry will get much bigger once the prices come down to a reasonable level.. Lot's of people still use paper notebooks, so if there are good quality (writing feel) $50-$100 note taking devices, the market would explode. The shift would then focus on software capabilities and workflows. Who knows, Apple may add something to the IPad soon
