Doing the spec in materialize will really push my workflow to the next level. I always made them by hand in affinity photo. Thx for the tip and your great tutorials 😊
Materialize is an awesome program. Do yourself a favor and watch the tutorials on the site to get used to the sliders. In some cases, it can make all the difference with your textures.
Dx vs gl depends on the game engine, pricey engines with lots of paid support usually use dx. Low cost, even open source or free, engines usually use gl and usually come with community based support. Gl is also used in engines targeting full cross-platform for like Linux gaming, while dx is usually your ms windows based games.
Awesome video, but materialize wont work for me, i extracted it to c drive where my giants tools are, ive tried running as administrator, the previews show up as a white document, i do have the latest visual c++, so not sure what to do. If you have any suggestions that would be much appreciated.
I never had an issue. The best I can say off the top of my head is to make sure there are no spaces in the file path for wherever you are running the program from. ex. "My Documents" would be no good.
I tryed again today and extracted to desktop, and that also didn't work, this was on my windows 11, also tryed on my windows 10 desktop aswell and yesh still no luck with it unfortunately.
@@kevydd-h2p It's a bit of a different program in the respect that wherever you extract it to, that's the location you run it from. It doesn't "install" like your typical program. I thought maybe you were looking for it in your programs list and couldn't find it. The fact that's it's not working on two different machines is extremely strange. I have it installed on multiple machines myself with no problems. What do those two machines have in common? Do you run the same antivirus maybe? Does the program start up at all?
Quick update, all sorted and working like it should, i ended up doing a complete system reset, mainly because i have been experiencing some strange issues with windows 11 just lately. But all sorted 👍
@@kevydd-h2pOoof. That's a drastic fix, but necessary by the sound of it. The thought had crossed my mind that perhaps something was up your windows explorer, but that was gong WAY out on a limb, lol. It sucks you had to go through all of that, but good to know my thought process was on the right track, LOL. Glad you got it working!!
Yuk, well that complicates things for some people. I have to go and have another look, but the good thing (for me at least) is that I use Substance Painter and only have 1 material, and also that I don't release my work through modhub. Thanks for the info!
Great to see another blender tutorial FS based, thanks Bauer 👍👍

Note: giants new rules for modhub are only 1 material per mesh
