    • @tylerlarsen1842
      @tylerlarsen1842 5 ปีที่แล้ว +190

      The Baptism is arguably the greatest scene in the history of film. It's beautifully executed and equal parts brutal and mesmerizing. Watching Michael Corleone speak on behalf of his nephew while his men assassinate the other heads of the Five Families as well as Moe Greene really speaks of the nature of being a criminal kingpin.

    So many iconic mob hits from the The Godfather, including Luca Brasi, Paulie Gatto, Virgil "Turk" Sollozzo and Captain McCluskey, Sonny Corleone, the hits on Moe Greene and the other heads of the Five Families during the baptism, and Carlo Rizzi. All of these could've easily made the list, and in fact, the baptism scene is arguably the greatest scene in the history of film. I am merely pointing out the fact that they show the death of many characters, before their warning, that there will be a spoiler alert. It kind of defeats the point of putting out a spoiler alert. Just don't put out the spoiler alert or put it at the very beginning of the video. So, the fact that you would respond to me seriously about this truly shows who indeed has half the brain. I'll point out that that person is you. I hope you were able to follow that insult.

      Why almost everytime it's there own people who kill each other. Greed is a dangerous and very common thing in the life of a gangster and it's often not knowing when to back down or not knowing when enough is enough that gets people killed. I never wanted to be a gangster cause I saw to much back stabbing and it's like what's the point if at any second you get trapped over something stupid. Also I've always been the type of guy in which I'd rather get jumped by a group then be the group jumping one guy. If your scaring tactics require a whole squad to send a message i don't fear you. And yes I have been jumped and when some bloods asked me if I wanted there help I told em no if I'm getting vengeance i do it myself i don't send others to do my work for me.

    I guessed Number One before watching this video. If they had allowed multiple hits from any franchise then The Godfather would get all of them.

      You're damn right on that. Heck, the first Godfather movie would take up about four or five slots on the list itself.

    Sonny’s death was definitely one of the most iconic death scenes ever made but one of the best ones is when Micheal assassinates the heads of the 5 families

      Jim Kelly ahhh shut the fuck up. Everyone says that but really it isnt even a mob movie. Do you ever get to see what the mob does or its business? All you see is a bunch of gangsters stealing and killing people for money. The goodfellas is a gangster movie subjected to the mob. It isnt a fucking mob movie.
      Untouchables is a mob movie. Just to share an example. Scar face is more of a mob movie than goodfellas. At least it touched on how scarface came to be with unique higher ups in the cartel making him what he was by the end of the movie
      and dont get me wrong. i love goodfellas but you have to admit there is a huge difference
      and if you think of it a little. bit more Casino is more of a mob movie than goodfellas.

      So Henry Hill wasn't actually an associate of the the Lucchese crime family? But the Godfather, being a fictional tale, and having been purposely scrubbed of any mention of the word "Mafia," was real? Thanks for clearing that up.
      And yes, that's how the US Mafia largely made its money, through illegal enterprise.
      No, I never saw it firsthand but I've watched court testimonies from Mafia figures and read everything I could get my hands on.

    I never knew the depth of my bias when it came to Good Fellas. I thought to myself, ‘How can this not be number 1?’ And then The Godfather scene popped up. Duh on my part! Well played, WatchMojo, well played!
